He’s big. He’s bearded. And I think he’s in love with me.
As a matchmaker, I have an eye for finding love for my clients But when it comes to my love life, I have a huge blind spot.
No better proof than my wedding day... I walked in on my groom making out with his best man.
And so I ran away. I hitched up my wedding dress and high-tailed it out of there.
I found a trail into the mountains and kept on hiking. Until I stumbled into a secluded cabin with no one home right as a storm rolled in.
I ate some delicious cobbler. Spent the night. And woke up to a bearded, behemoth mountain man looking at me like he skipped breakfast.
Gulp.
He doesn’t seem like the type who takes kindly to strangers. Especially when they eat his last slice of cobbler… And nearly burn down his cabin trying to destroy their wedding dress…
If I’ve learned anything as a matchmaker, it’s that first impressions are key. And even though mine has been horrible, this ruggedly handsome mountain man seems smitten with me.
Obsessed.
I was supposed to honeymoon in the mountains… Never thought it would be with a mountain man I’d never met before.
When Aiden finally left his secluded cabin in the woods, he never expected to find the girl of his dreams sleeping in his bed when he returned. She might've snagged his last piece of cobbler, but this is one little thief he's never going to let go!
Tessa loves writing about over-the-top obsessive heroes and the sassy women that bring them to their knees. Age gaps, instalove, and forbidden romances are her jam.
I’m reading this series purely for the chipmunks 🐿️😆🤪🐿️ well… and the lickable mountain men💋 I’m absolutely reading these out of order, but enjoying them too much to care 😉😉😉 I’ve lost count how many times I’ve melted at the loving, sweet, caring, and hot-yummy things he thinks or says 🫠🫠🫠
🐿️ “I never thought chipmunks were alpha predators, but I’m not sticking around to find out.” 🤣 throw those gummies and run!!!!!!
Oh, I like this “it's a superstition. An old wive’s tale in Whispering Winds, but…” She clears her throat before continuing on in a more serious tone. “If you wear a mountain man’s flannel during a storm, you might find yourself a husband.””
Aiden & Juliet should be a little happier that her ex turned out to be gay, a cheater, and didn’t want to take her virginity, because then they wouldn’t get to have true love and lust, BUT he definitely should get full cheater-douchebag negative points for taking his cheating partner to the cabin that he was supposed to be Honeymooning Juliet at… and perhaps a black eye is well deserved for not even looking for/ worring about her 👎👎👎 💍I would have kept the ring, just to sell it!!
But Karma is grand when Aiden & Juliet get to be full on naughty in chapter 8 in that cabin 😈💋💋💋💋 and what a glorious morning routine!!
Yes, definitely pay tribute to those chipmunks for your HEA 💟🐿️💟
This was a really sweet instalove novella featuring a reclusive mountain man and an innocent, heartbroken heroine. The start of the book shows Juliet about to get married - but she finds her husband making out with his best man. She breaks up with him and decides to go to the mountains, where they were supposed to have a honeymoon.
It was pretty funny, all the things she accidentally ruined in Aiden's cabin before he got home! He didn't mind at all though. He fell for Juliet immediately.
This is low-angst, sweet, and a little spicy. I enjoyed it.
SAFETY: Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, celibate hero OM/OW drama: veeery slight OM Tropes & Keywords: instalove, mountain man HEA?: yes

I loved reading this novella. The characters had a great relationship. I loved Aiden! He's such a sexy and playful mountain man. Juliet was such a relatable character. I had so much fun reading this novella. I fell in love instantly with the characters and their story. They really are meant to be together. We could see their connection from the get-go. The whole Goldilocks reference sold the novella to me. If you are on the fence about this book, I am here to tell you that you won't be disappointed when you read this. It has the right amount of spice and the storyline is easy to follow. I would totally recommend this novella!.

I swear, this is the BEST mountain man series. I’ve loved every single one of them and this is no exception! The FMC was hilarious (although slightly neurotic & lacking some common-sense) and the MMC was adorably lovable, protective, sweet & understanding. He is such a caretaker, despite being a major lock-himself-up-the-woods-alone dude. I enjoyed them getting to know one another and falling in love. They were adorable together. Loved the spice, loved his dirty talk *swoon!* The story was also funny… I laughed aloud a few times
“It is a chipmunk rallying war cry.”
🤣🤣🤣. That part was priceless lol
Would have loved a little longer epilogue! 😉. I wanna hear how their expanded business goes! I also want to hear about immediately after the end of epilogue
The FMC was having major cold feet for legitimate reasons, recognizing that she & her fiancé weren’t actually IN love, they were comfortable-ish. She goes to see him, considering calling off the whole thing, only to walk in on him passionately kissing his best man… yet he’d shown her zero passion in the many, many years they were together. She takes off in the mountains, with no real plan or prep, in her wedding dress when a storm comes blowing through (yes, the same storm from the previous 2 books) and happens upon the MMC’s unlocked cabin & lets herself in, accidentally trashing the joint (this is where the low common sense comes in). MMC, comes home after being away from mountain for the first time in years… to find cabin trashed, as well as his prize possession, but sees his “Goldilocks” asleep in his bed and is immediately smitten 🥰
Read it, in fact, read ALL 3 BOOKS if you haven’t read the first 2!!! They are ALL on my re-reader list ❤️❤️❤️
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. The opinions above are 100% my own & 100% genuine!
This is like a reimagining of Goldilocks but in a city girl meets mountain man type. I’m all up these sort of novellas now because of my reading slump, but for once I didn’t enjoy reading about the FMC here.
Juliet should be extremely glad that Aiden fell head over heels for her at first sight because I don’t think any other man would appreciate/forgive having an intruder: 1) eat his cobbler that tastes like heaven 2) slept in his bed and wore his flannel 2) almost burning his house down (the house he painfully built on his own 🤦🏻♀️) and damaging the priceless chair his ancient woodworking/wood crafter idol made
And Juliet’s…not the brightest child huh. If intruding someone’s house wasn’t bad enough, she still slept in Aiden’s bed…even though she thought that he had a girlfriend?? And when Aiden gave her female clothing to wear, she thought “oh I shouldn’t because his girlfriend would mind having another girl wear her clothes”. Like girl are you dumb? You already wore his clothes and slept in his bed without permission, I think you’re so over for having that thought or even saying that 🙄
Aiden’s lovely throughout the story tho. 5⭐️ for the man, 1⭐️ for the girl.
“Juliet, I know we’ve just met, but what I’m feeling for you is real. I’m not Roman. I’m not your Romeo either, but I’d die for you if it meant keeping you safe. Protected. You might have to give up on matchmaking because I’ll be over-fucking-whelming you with my love for you. You won’t need to find it anywhere else because you’ll be drowning in it. I will never take you for granted, sweet girl. I promise you that.”
Matchmaker Juliet (h) finds her personal love life takes an unexpected turn on her wedding day, when she discovers her fiancé kissing his best man. Heartbroken and disillusioned, Juliet flees the wedding in her gown and escapes into the mountains, where she stumbles upon a secluded cabin just as a storm hits. Seeking shelter, she inadvertently makes herself at home, consuming the last slice of cobbler and causing a bit of chaos in the cabin. The cabin's owner, Aiden (H), a reclusive mountain man who prefers solitude, returns and finds Juliet, whom he finds himself drawn to despite the mess she has made. As they both navigate their instant attraction amidst the unusual circumstances, Juliet's presence brings a change to Aiden's solitary life, and together, they explore the possibility of new beginnings as Juliet must decide whether to return to her old life or embrace a new beginning with Aiden in the tranquil mountains. Hot and steamy age, gap, mountain man romance with a bit of adventure and humor in a Goldilocks-inspired tale.
They're cute, I'll give the Characters that. They have an adorable relationship that grows very quickly together. And I'm all for it. I just find it silly how this girl stayed with a guy for over 5 years and all they did was I guess kiss? Maybe hug. That's a long time to never even wonder about the possibility of things. Don't get me wrong, people do stay in relationships even after knowing these facts. But she never even guessed it. Or wondered much. She just claimed to be sad about it for Five years.
Then when they do have their first deflower moment, well. This girl is not dumb, apparently she knows how to do everything without any experience whatsoever. She hasn't even done much with anything but her hand, so how TF does she know how to be as experienced as she was in the book. Like I'm sorry, but she did Not give me innocent vibes like it was going for. Spice lvl: 🌶️🌶️
This is book number 3 of the Mountain Men of Whispering Winds series and focuses on Aiden and Juliet. On her wedding day to her high school sweetheart, Juliet has the misfortune of walking in on her fiance getting hot and heavy with his best man. After witnessing that, she takes off for the mountains and ends up at Aiden’s cabin. When Aiden first sees Juliet, he immediately knows that she is the missing piece he’s been looking for in his life. I absolutely loved Aiden and Juliet together! Aiden was absolutely perfect for Juliet and was seriously the perfect amount of OTT and possessive of his woman. He knew exactly what he wanted and didn’t waste any time going after it. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

“I need you, Aiden.” Juliet opens her legs wider, cupping her tits as her eyes lock on mine. “I want all of you. I want you to make me yours. I want you to be my first.” My eyes flare. My body fucking screams as every muscle in my body tightens. I can’t believe no one’s ever touched this beautiful girl. Can’t believe her ex… Motherfu—he had no idea what he had. No clue about the treasure he held in the palms of his hands. And I’m going to make damn sure she knows how special she is.
HER EX IS GAY!!!!!
The whole book they treated as roman didn’t want her coz he was getting something better on the side. He didn’t value her as a woman coz he wasn’t attracted to women !!! I understand the case that he was an asshole for not being honest to her and to him. But that’s not the direction the book opted. It bother me too much - 1 start!!
Strange and conflicting OW comparison to his ex. Aiden says that “he thought he knew what love was with his ex” and then a chapter later in his head, calls Juliet a “once in a lifetime girl”
Not for me. I despise when the h has to compete with the mythical perfect ex-gf who the H loved before. Just a me thing and I’m sure judging by the other reviews, many other will love Aiden since he seems like a nice guy. I just don’t like when the h has competition with OW whom the H has not only been with but actually been in love with before.
About his ex:
“I swallow hard when my mind drifts to the one thing this cabin’s missing. I thought I had that missing piece years ago, but I was wrong. We were wrong. Sometimes it’s the ones you love the most that turn out to be the ones you know the least.”
'This is one surprise I never saw coming when I left my mountain. The missing piece I’ve been looking for.'
I enjoyed this book. The premise sounded really fun, and I was getting Goldilocks vibes- which I've read in shifter novels, but really liked here with the mountain man theme. I really loved Aiden. I thought he was very sweet. I liked Juliet- though I cringed so hard when she burned part of the beautiful cabin's flooring and ruined his chair. (Not to mention the cobbler *smirk*) If this wasn't an instalove, I kind of wish he'd have been angrier at her. Because that bout of stupidity made me mad. I really liked the dynamic between them, and they had great chemistry. I loved the chipmunk interactions! A fun read. 4 stars.
Can't even compare how much I enjoyed Aiden and Juliet's love story against Goldilocks and the three bears. I loved Goldilocks story but I was a kid...now...ahh...grown up love. This was so much better. Who wouldn't fall in love with Aiden just by the description! Before meeting Aiden, Juliet found out on her wedding day that her ex-man was not into women. She ran away to the mountains, hiking in her wedding gown. A series of incidents lead her to Aiden's cabin which also lead to another series of incidents. You'll have to read it to find out what she did. The chemistry between them was hot. Ok, on to the next book. Written by Cindy :)
These books are so stinking good! They're funny sweet and these burly mountain men are everything a girl could want. Juliet freaks out when she finds her groom making out with his best man. What bride wouldn't. She then heads up to the mountains to clear her head. One bad thing after another happens. The next day she ends up meeting Aiden who is beyond taken with her. They're attraction for one another is explosive. Whew! 🔥💣🌶 I recommend this book this entire series is awesome👍. You won't be disappointed if you enjoy short steamy with spice romances with humour.
"I ran into these mountains, lost and alone. But Aiden found me, and he's never letting me go."
WHAT TO EXPECT: 🌸Goldilocks spin 🌸Match maker 🌸Insta-love 🌸Virgin heroine 🌸3/5 spice
My Thoughts:
What an adorable read, Aiden is such a sweetheart. Juliet was very innocent which at times seemed to contradict her match making career but it was very sweet to see her heal and explore with Aiden. This is a must read, feel good mountain man read!
I really liked 'The Recluse of the Mountain' by Tessa Klein. It was a really cute story with wonderful characters. What starts as a horrible day with a cheating fiancé on her wedding day turns into a blessing for the woman because she soon finds the love of her life up on the mountain. It is instant attraction for the both of them and has a lot of sweet and funny moments.

🐻👰🏼♀️You find your fiance cheating moment before the wedding. You go hiking direct from there in your wedding dress?! Thn halfway you give up and stumble upon a house and make yourself at home so much that you set a fire? What are you? Goldilocks?
🐻👰🏼♀️Ok is this actually a retelling of goldilocks?😶
🐻👰🏼♀️Did he just lift a car? What vin diesel shit is this?
🐻👰🏼♀️I Honestly picked this book for some grumpy H and Aiden is not really grumpy😒It was silly book😂

OMG! This one had me literally laughing out loud through most of it! I’ve read the whole series in order and they’ve all been fantastic, but this has by far been the funniest! You still get the feels and of course the deliciously gorgeous, dirty mouthed mountain man. Steamy parts are vivid and so 🥵! I definitely recommend this book, but do advise to read the whole series in order because each book overlaps the previous one at some point.
I rate this 2.75 I enjoyed it as well as the characters bits I loved other parts I didn’t love but overall enjoyed it plenty a bit insta lovey which I didn’t love but it’s okay had a feeling it would be and do wish there was a little more of them after, the other books I read from this series had 2 epilogues at like different points of there future this one didn’t though which kinda sucked it would have been cute to see their little family grow maybe in another book we will get a glimpse of it

I loved the play on Goldilocks, that Aiden kept using from the moment he caught her "scent" in his cabin. Even after recovering from the damage don to his one of a kind chairs, and his hand milled floor, he still couldn't get the primitive need to claim her as his own. After seeing that she wasn't A bride, but a single woman, the courtship is on. Great romance.
As stated in the book, true over the top, instalove goodness. It’s sweet and a little spicy. With a cute joke running through it. It was a quick and satisfying read.

This was a sweet instalove mountain man romance. It was a short story with a good pace. Juliet and Aiden had really good chemistry and I really enjoyed the Goldilocks references. Really sweet.

As a matchmaker, she has an eye for finding love for her clients. But can't find her own happiness. No better proof than her wedding day... she walks in on the groom in a compromising position. And runs. It was an entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving my review.
Really enjoy reading this series each story is so intense with the immediate attractions if that could only happen in real life what a wonderful dream that would be everyone deserves someone who LP is them unconditionally flaws and all
For an insta-love it’s not bad. This is the first book in the series that I’ve read, but it seems like there are some fun world building things that carry over from the other books. Might read another one of these stories, but not right away.
This is what dreams are made of. All the way from the first word to the last. Whispering pines more than lived up to my expectations and I'm looking forward to the next book.
So happy Aiden got his woman and Juliet stumbled across his cabin and the perfect man for her. I really liked her character she was funny, and the chipmunks were hilarious.
