Kyra
Position Title -- Muse of Good Fortune
Evaluated by --
Mighty Zeus, President, CEO, Top God Performance Assessment Kyra's performance has, quite frankly, been a disappointment over these past one hundred years. Our Muse of Good Fortune, despite her exceptional charm and unearthly beauty, has been slacking off, getting by on her looks, wiles, and considerable sex appeal -- not to mention her privileged position as the daughter of Mighty Zeus Himself! Performance Objectives The best place on Earth for the Muse of Good Fortune to make a difference is . . . Las Vegas. Therefore Kyra is to spend one year at the famous Acropolis Casino, where she will inspire good fortune. During her sentence, she is forbidden from getting romantically involved with a mortal, and most especially not with Jake Lennox. This professional gambler-turned-investigator is too seductive and attractive for his own good. Besides, Jake has an agenda that may prove too dangerous for Kyra's soft heart. So, if she falls in love, all bets are off.

It was a fun read especially for those that like some Greek mythology twisted in. my only complaint is the lack of a complete ending for the supporting characters

Kyra and Jake had some awesome chemistry, and I even enjoyed spending time with the side characters, like Rob the I.T. guy and Herb the security guy. The story itself was alternately cute-and-funny and hot-and-steamy, with some very sweet moments thrown in for good measure. I even got sucked into the mystery subplot, even though I figured out whodunit halfway through the book and the culprit was eventually arrested with very little fanfare. All things considered, though, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. :)

I have always liked Greek and Roman myths myths, so recently i have recently gotten into all the fiction books that base themselves around them. This was one of those finds and my first that was based on the muses so I was hoping to really like it. I am not saying I did not enjoy it, there were parts of the book that made me laugh and the main character Kyra, the muse of good fortune, was a decent enough character but the story was so drawn out and really it seemed more meant to be a short story than a whole book but it read as though the author decided to try to stretch it as thin as she could so she could make a whole book about it. In the beginning of the book as an introduction, she sets it up so you know there are three muse stories she is going to write so I am hoping her other two are better. I feel though (this is how I feel while I haven't read the other two so maybe they could change my mind) the book might have worked better if she included all the characters and their stories into one complete book. Another possibility is writing this as a short story along with the other two stories and wrapping them up with a finale that way.

So, far it is a light and cute book. Premise: Zeus has a meeting with his daughters (Muses)and he finds them very lacking so, he tells them that tey must live on earth as mortals and positively effect as many mortals as possible. One condition, this is for on year and they must nt fall in love with a mortal otherwise they spend eternity mucking the stalls, milking cows ect on Mt. Olympus. They must email Zeus every week with updates. Yup, The Top God is very techno savvy (Zeus email - topgod@MountO.org! LOL).

This was a fun read, something that I got through easily.
Judi McCoy is a talented author that brought me back to the days of Greek Mythology, one of my favorite subjects in school.
It was fun to take a look at her take on the Gods and Goddesses of Olympus.
Liked the book and the great laughs I got out of it.

Kyra is a muse whose father is Zues the all mighty 'Top Greek God in charge'

She is punished an sent to earth to live with the mortals for a year along with her sisters Zoe an Chloe they are separated an warned not to fall in love.

Overall the book was sonewhat entertaining an had a bit of mystery but I'd rate it average. I never felt a connection to the characters or ever felt sucked into the story.

I wont be reading anymore books in this series. Overall I found it a bit dry.

I picked up this series because it was written by Judi McCoy. I like her other works (Check out the Dog Walker series, it is great) and she had just passed away. This was a very pleasant read and I really enjoyed the demi-goddess flavor. This is definitly 3.5 stars. Looking forward to reading the other two in the series.

I thought this was a great book! i really like it alot. It was fun, romantic, had bits of magic, and it was filled with a great story! Kyra does good things for the good people and thats the way life should work! I never suspected the "bad guy" in this whole story...it was great!!
i am so looking forward to book 2 in this series.

This was an easy and enjoyable read. I found the pace a bit slow and the plot predictable. Beach reading!

Book/story was okay. But kept repeating. Seemed drawn out. Could have been told in 1/2 the time.
