Young In Love #4

It's Not Them, It's Only Her

Rate this book
My mission in life is simple. Family. Food. Freedom. Most people don't question my love for my family. And I make my living as a celebrity chef. The freedom part? The thought of being confined-behind bars, at a desk, or in a monogamous relationship-is not something I want for myself. Unfortunately, it becomes a problem when women want to make me their Forever Bae. Even after I make it clear that I'm not looking for more than short interlude.

Except . . . when I think of her, when I'm with her, I don't feel stuck. I actually want uninterrupted time with her. Surprised? Me too.

Want to know how I ended up in this predicament? I wish I knew because I definitely wasn't looking for it. Maybe it's the way she takes care of me? By listening to the things I say and everything I don't say.

Want to know why changing our relationship dynamic is a bad idea? I'm not the only one who wants her. Which makes it very complicated.

Want to know another reason why this is a bad idea? My track record speaks for itself. And she deserves someone good. I'm . . . not.

The choice is hers, though. I hate to lose so I'm playing to win. And I will show her that it's not him that she needs. It's me.

Born and raised in Southeast Michigan near Ann Arbor, Elle learned the importance of reading from her mother. It was also her mother who, later on in her life, gave Elle her first romance novel: Indigo by Beverly Jenkins. From that moment on, Elle became a fan of Ms. Jenkins for life and a lover of all things romance. An old journal she wrote back in college became her first book (which she still wants to publish one day).

Elle is hard at work on her next novel.

I enjoyed reading Duke’s story. He had so many layers to him. Demi’s life could have turned out so different without the Young’s. Her and Duke had an undeniable bond. The Young family is hilarious, nosey and they’re always there for each other.

Duke is my favorite of all the young siblings. I had mixed feelings about the story of him and Demi. I did love all I learned about duke. Demi character was cool but I didn’t feel their deep connection.

That was an interesting curveball toward the end. Look forward to learning more about the new introduction in latter books

The one and only

Sometimes family can be a blessing and a curse. For Demi - it was both. When her biological family didn’t bother, the adopted one did. Because of the actions of her bio family, she was blessed with the Young family - embraced, supported and unconditionally loved. She made some poor decisions with men and relationships but her true family was there for her every step of the way. She was a legal beast in the court room as a divorce attorney, successful, and well loved by her family. One of the Young’s boys was her protector, confidante, supporter and friend - always there when she needed him and no matter the circumstances - Duke. They had an unbreakable bond.
Duke was one to play games and spoke his mind. He kept it 100 at all times - it might not be what you want to hear, what you like, or even what you want to know or happen but he stayed true to him. Thats how he was with women and in life. The women knew what was up with him from the gate and the decision to deal with him was up to them - can’t say they weren’t aware that he was a no strings attached type of guy. He was fine, and successful. His family was his world along with being a chef and expanding his empire. Demi was his ride or die even beyond his, twin, sister’s and best friend’s.
This book was more than a friend’s to lovers book. It touched me deeply and even had me tearing up at the end. They were meant for each other. Through the good, the bad, ups and downs, disappointment, hurts, bad decisions and more - it was always them. It was beautiful to read.
Great read!
Now I need to know wth is going on with Tristan!!!

OMG❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥲🥲❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️

If I could give this story 10 stars I would . I have been waiting for Duke’s story and I was so excited when I saw it had been released. Each of the books in this series has been wonderful but this one right here stole my heart with it’s many layers and the answers to some of my questions about Duke and his brother, Tristian.

Poor Demi could seem to catch a break when it came to her love life, and issues with her biological family. However no matter what happened the one constant in her life was Duke Young☺️ and vise versa yet she had her heart fixated on the wrong man🤦🏽‍♀️

Duke had a reputation of being a ladies man,aka a man whore
But something changed for him the night of his friend Rasheed’s rehearsal dinner that he catered. That was the night he decided there was one women who could fill the void no other women could fill. Once he made up his mind that he would be there for Demi, until she was ready to see him as more than “ a big brother/ the brother of her best friend”. All the other women could kick rocks 😂😂

This story had me laughing out loud and and wondering what other issues would pop up that seemed like a deterrent to keep Duke and Demi apart. I have already said to much
So read the story , you won’t be sorry.

Thanks again Elle Wright this was a wonderful read ❤️❤️❤️

Duke! Ms. Wright made readers day with It’s Not Them, It’s Only Her, featuring Duke Young. Who can tie this playboy down? Demita Strong. Yep, I was surprised that it was Demi! She and Dallas Young have been besties since they were kids. Demi had a tough upbringing until she was taken in by the Young family. She is known as the “divorce whisperer” and has beaten her father in court more than once.

I expected the book to be fast paced because of Duke’s personality. The story
was more of a slow burn because there was a lot to unpack. Duke and Demi have
always been there for each other and something finally shifts. They realize what
has been right in front of them all along: Demi notices Duke’s sexy smile and
he’s always known she is beautiful. Duke finally has someone he wants to be
committed to and Demi knows he is the one for her. I love the friends to lovers theme, but this book was more than I anticipated truly enjoyed It’s Not Them, It’s Only Her, and I highly recommend it. See complete review at Romanceincolor.com.

it’s not good it’s great

Let me say when I found out who “HER” was I was a little shocked and a little unwilling to accept the love match that was about to happen. But Elle Wright weld that mighty pen of hers to make a believer out of me that “SHE” was indeed the only woman for Duke! Their journey to love was definitely what true love is about! I knew and accepted they were meant to be when I could replace the word “LOVE” from 1 Corinthians 13:4 with Duke or Demi and it spoke nothing but truth about the both of them pertaining to their relationship. This fourth installment is definitely my favorite so far. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the Young siblings! Job well done Elle Wright! This read is a 10/10 highly recommend for me. Ya
L better go run not walk to get your copy.

Bravo!

I absolutely loved Duke and Demi together. Their dynamic was craftly hidden from us as readers but equally unveiled by this awesome author! The love they had for one another began as teens and carried them through the years but as adults shifted into such a beautiful love rooted in respect, loyalty and unconditional acceptance.

I laughed at all the Young Family shenanigans, even from the teen grand, Raven. She is a true Young! My eyes even started to swell a few times. That's just how much I enjoyed this book.

For a while Duke Young has had such a huge presence in the Wright universe, and I can't see that changing any time soon.

Absolutely Loved This!!!

Duke and Demi were made for each other!!! Duke has always loved Demi. He was her protector, confidant, best friend, and everything else! I thought that Tristan would end up with Demi! I’m so glad it was Duke! They both had past issues! They just seemed so right together. Poor Demi had a horrible biological family. I’m just glad she had the Young’s!! I can’t wait to read Tristan’s story. He’s so mysterious!! Thank you Mrs. Wright!! Each book just keeps getting better and better! I’m always up for keeping up with the crazy Young family!! They keep it real!! ❤️🔥

Amazing

What an amazing story about family, love, mistakes and growth. Duke had grown a lot from the young man that was always in trouble and had lost his way for a short period of time in his life. The Young Family is awesome and makes you desire that your family is just like them. I love the close knit family they are and how the parents taught them and let then embrace their individuality. Demi was strong and determined despite her biological parents and to overcome with the support that the Young Family gave. Looking forward to more books in this series. As always you did your thang Elle!!!!

Very Good Read

Elle Wright NEVER disappoints!! This book was good from cover to cover. It's the true definition of from friends to lovers. Duke & Demi were practically raised as siblings from their teen years but neither of them desired one another until they did. However, few obstacles stand in their way of a happily ever after. Can they overcome them and make it to a happily ever after? This is a good read. The characters & situations are relatable. I love that we get to catch up with the other Young siblings, X, Zara, & Skye. I would recommend this read to any reader looking for a good romance novel or just a feel good read!

Wow! Duke and Demi's story! The first third of this book, I was filled with so much rage, it was frightening!

Poor Demi had the parents from hell or at least they both belonged there! How do you walk out on your sleazy husband and take ONE daughter and leave your other daughter behind???? There are no words for that kind of rejection. I don't even think there is a psychiatrist that can lead you out of that kind of emotional trauma.

However, Thank GOD for the Young Family who rescued Demi from that madness. Only for Demi to go and fall in love with the wrong YOUNG brother. Tristan or Duke? Now what?
Awesome story!!!!

Duke!

I loved this book and seeing the growth that Duke went through and finally confessing his feelings to Demi. I loved Duke and Demi’s relationship and how they were able to seamlessly move from close friends to lovers. There were some things that happened in this book that I was not expecting and had me saying wow. The relationship and bond between the Young siblings is one that I admire. They are there for each other and are not shy about calling each other out when necessary. I look forward to what comes next from this family.

Family Always

If this is the end of the Young family saga what a powerful ending. Seeing Duke accept the things he could not change, while letting it be known I will be there. Being a part of conversations between Duke and Demi as they came to terms with what everyone around them knew.
Get your Kleenex ready the last few pages will bring you to tears.
Just a wild guess, but I think the mother has her children bugged that why "she knows things."

Excellent read

Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Duke and Demi’s story was layered with a rich history of ups and downs. Individually, they became successful. Duke and Demi’s love grew from friends to romance. It was great catching up with all the Young family, there was always laughter, fun and love in this close knit family. I look forward to the next installment of their lives.

I really enjoyed this book. I love that the "love story" was strong and even tho issues arose it didn't affect the love story. I love love stories where the couple handles adversity together instead of there always needed to be something that happens to break them up and then come back together later. I appreciated that that wasn't the narrative here. Even tho it did take a while for the love to surface. I'm 100% team Duke.

It's Not Them, It's Only Her

This was a love story about Demita Strong and Duke Young. She has always been part of the Young family. Originally she became friends with the Young sisters then because of of a divorce with her parents which left her living with an abusive father. Later running away to the comfort of the Young family she was subsequently adopted into their love and support. Many years later once grown she and Duke found their own happily ever after.

Love it!

This was a really good read. There are just too many people to keep up with 🤭 I absolutely love the family bond but I was left trying to figure out Tristens problem. The author did a great job dealing with blood kin vs non and really showing how other people can actually love you more than your biological family.
