Utilizing qualitative approach applying phenomenological methods, this study examines factors that contribute to how young lesbian women develop and form romantic relationships. Data was gathered using qualitative face-to-face interviews with eight young women ranging in age from 18--35 who reside in the Pacific Northwest. Three categories emerged as contributing to the development and maintenance of young lesbian romantic relationships: Impact of Gender Interactions, Relationship Progression, and Learning About Relationships. Within the categories, ten themes and two sub-themes emerged to help further contribute to the current research on young lesbian women's romantic relationships. The study concludes by discussing the essences of the development and maintenance of lesbian romantic relationships as well as clinical significance, training implications, and potential further studies.
