Who says cats and dogs can’t click?

Georgia Starr loathes asking for help. She’s tired of being let down. As a former foster kid dedicated to saving strays, she’ll do anything to rescue the pet shelter being threatened by the heartless Holm family. Could making her adorably dressed, goofy boxer mutt a viral sensation save the shelter and everything she cares about?

Hudson doesn’t need anyone else asking him for favors simply because he’s a Holm. He’s got his hands full dealing with the fallout from booting the pet shelter. If he can turn the persnickety Persian he’s cat-sitting into an online celebrity, will it be enough to fix his family’s PR problems?

Georgia and Hudson clash like cats and dogs whenever they meet in person, but they can’t deny a certain animal attraction. If only real-life human conversations were as easy as chatting as their pets online! What will happen when they reveal their true identities?

Watch the fur fly and stick around for the warm fuzzies in this stand-alone, series starter, enemies-to-lovers romcom.

This is a perfect beach read romance that’ll keep you coming back for more of the character’s antics. I love the take on being petfluencers and a feel good storyline. This story has everything you could want; a romance you pull for, characters you love to hate, and cute pets that seem to dictate their owners lives.

Georgia is the owner of Celestial Pets which specializes in clothes for all kinds of pets as well as natural foods and treats. When her world comes crashing down all at once thanks to the millionaire Holms. First they boot the pet shelter out of their current location, then the rent hike, and possibly theft. So when Georgia meets Hudson he’s not so bad until she finds out he is a Holm. Can Georgia and Hudson move past the bad blood caused by Bryce to find their happily ever after? Can Georgia manage to save everything she holds dear even if it means asking for help once in a while?

This book is all about growth, we see Georgia grow as a person and a friend. She finds that not all problems have to be solved by yourself and sometimes you need a little help from those who care about you. It was so fun to see the relationship develop and everything come to light regarding Georgia’s finances. This is an amazing book that’ll make you laugh, make you cry, and even make you want to deck someone.

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers series by Ciara Blume. It is a fun enemies to lovers contemporary romantic comedy with plenty of chemistry, sparks, banter, angst, touching moments, pet rescue, cats vs dogs, antics, and just enough drama to keep things interesting.
This is my first read from Ms. Blume, and after reading this I can honestly say that it definitely won’t be the last. This was such a fun read; I can’t wait to explore more of Ms. Blume’s stories.
If you love a fun read, that will make you laugh out loud at the antics- then you should snap up a copy for yourself and discover all the funny, fur-flying, sweet, and feel good moments for yourself.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Ciara Blume!

Pets, snarky dialog, and a literature-focused podcast woven together for a romantic comedy had me ready for a fun read.

The main characters, Georgia and Hudson, experience a powerful attraction to each other when they first meet. But, that is quickly displaced when Georgia finds out he is part of the family who is affecting her business and the beloved pet shelter she supports.

What they don't know is that they are the owners behind the pets paired up in an influencer challenge. He's got the cat and she's got the dog.

You'll find plenty of nods to things common in today's society (e.g. podcasts and Instagram influencers) with the familiar frenemies plot line with plenty of misunderstandings getting in the way of their budding relationship.

Ciara does a great job bringing everything together and setting the stage for more titles to follow.

Overall, a fun romantic comedy to read when you'd like a short escape from the daily grind.

Disclaimer ~ I have met Ciara and was provided with an electronic ARC to read. No promise of a good review was made. All opinions are my own.

I cringed my way through this entire book. Awful storyline, too many bland characters and the romance didn’t really make that much sense. I definitely won’t be reading the rest of this series.

Heroine Prickly, Prideful Martyr

This book is the first in the author’s Lit Lovers series. In case you're wondering, Lit Lovers is the name of a romantic book podcast featured in the book, run by some of the novel’s secondary characters. There are probably several podcasts out there like it, and it is certainly a fun idea to base a series around. I listened to the audiobook version of this novel. It has two narrators, one for the hero and one for the heroine. I will admit that I found this book a little confusing at first because it has so many characters we hear from. Some are brother and sister; some are potential romantic partners; some are just good friends. It's a sizeable group to keep track of just if you’re just listening. If I had the book version, I probably would have made a cheat sheet to show how everybody was related or connected. Audible does allow authors to include a PDF with their audiobooks, and the author should consider writing up such a character sheet to help her struggling readers!

I wasn't wild about the heroine in this book. She came across as a prickly, prideful martyr, someone who would rather lose her family home than admit to her more well-to-do brother that that was where her finances were heading. She is also really prejudiced about the hero because of his family, even though she knows nothing about him personally. He’s actually a pretty decent guy, though he does have a few faults. <<< SPOILER >>> I also wasn't wild about how she treated the hero after their intimate moment, just cutting everything off without a good explanation. He certainly didn't deserve that treatment, no matter his flaws. I hate it when heroes do that to heroines in what is supposed to be a love story, but it is no better with the gender flip! <<< END SPOILER >>>

At the book review website I got this audiobook from, the author stated it has witty banter. Personally, I didn't find their banter *that* amusing, especially when they were face to face. As part of a challenge, their pets carried on a text conversation through them. While I would call that mildly amusing, I wouldn't go so far as to call it witty. Because the heroine was such a prickly character, I felt like I couldn't really get into the book and enjoy it as I hoped I would. As such, I do not feel like I can recommend it.

I received a promo code for this book, but that did not affect my review.

This book was so stinking cute!

It was different. I was unsure of how I felt about the romance kind of forming through the friendship being built between their pets, but honestly it turned out to be so cute. It was a new kind of way to tell a love story.

There is one spicy scene towards the end of the book. Just a warning.

I do recommend this read! It was fun and different. I did end up loving the characters in it as well.
I will try to put a little bit of what it's about here below.

Georgia is a small store owner of celestial pets and makes costumes for pets as well. She falls on hard times because the Holms have caused a rent hike and she just is not pulling in as much business. Not only that, but she finds out that the Holms are ripping off her original pet costume designs and selling them as their own. She decides to start a petfluencer challenge to help with her dog cookies page and hopefully help her shop bring in more business.. she just ends up meeting someone different and genuine that she loves spending her evenings bantering and joking with as well. the problem? They can't say anything about each other or their personal lives! That's against the rules..

Hudson Holm, a dreamy viking built business man, comes into clean up his adopted brothers mess with the family company and celestial pets. He's not the relationship type. Most of the women only want him for his money and are not genuinely in it for him. Then he meets Georgia, his battle pixie and that all goes down hill. Also, he's stuck with this cat and also decides to do a petfluencer challenge to help learn new business strategies for the company.... however, he is starting to fall for this unknown person on the other end of the phone.. He needs to know who it is, but he is also worried that once she finds out she will only want him for his money.

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy which had me happily turning the pages. This was a lighthearted and heartwarming story, with a twist on the enemies to lovers theme, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Georgia Starr is dedicated to saving strays, and will do anything to rescue the pet shelter which is being threatened by the Holm family. Georgia comes up with the idea of dressing up her adorable, but goofy boxer mutt and making him a viral sensation, in order to save the shelter. Hudson Holm is dealing with the fallout from booting the pet shelter, when he comes up with an idea to fix his family’s PR problems. His plan involves turning the Persian cat who he’s cat sitting for into an online celebrity.
Every time Georgia and Hudson meet in person they can’t deny their mutual attraction but they also clash, a bit like cats and dogs! What they don’t know is that they have been chatting happily online, just as their pets. However, once their identities are revealed will they stay as enemies of become lovers. This story had a real feel good factor, with some great characters, especially Georgia and Hudson, who’s chemistry really came across in the narrative. The animal characters were just as likeable as their owners, and the storyline flowed well. It had some real laugh out loud moments as well as some drama and of course plenty of romance. I definitely recommend this story.

Hate You Later was a sweet, cute rom-com. I mean, seriously, how can you go wrong when pets are involved???

Georgia is a tiny little thing, but don’t let her size fool you. She literally packs a punch…just ask the younger Holm brother, Bryce. Underneath her tough exterior lies a heart of gold who adores animals and will do anything and everything in her power to save the pet shelter that is in danger of closing because of the Holm family.

Hudson is in town trying to fix the PR mess his younger brother has created. While he might share the last name with his brother, Bryce, he is certainly nothing like him. He has no intention of sticking around for too long. He wants to fix the problem and leave. But, he didn’t expect his encounter with Georgia would change everything for him.

As you can probably guess, these two clash in a big way. Yet, underneath the animosity lies some pretty powerful chemistry and attraction. Both are vying for a pet influencer prize in a contest, and neither suspects that they are chatting with each other online as their pets. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen when they learned each others’ true identities. It was well worth the wait!!!

This read had everything I was looking for…sexy banter, humor, a sweet HEA, and dogs and cats! If you are looking for a light-hearted romance, you can’t go wrong with this one!!!

This was such a cute rom-com! The main characters are doing an online Petfluencer challenge and they have been paired together, but they have no idea who the other person is, because part of the challenge is they can only communicate as the personality of their pet. While they are struggling to figure things out in the real world, their pet personalities are starting to wonder if a cat and dog can make things work. Georgia is a fantastic main character who takes no nonsense from anyone. She is tiny but fierce, the complete opposite of her sweet boxer mix Cookie. Hudson is her perfect match, a sexy Viking lookalike that gets her heart racing, despite knowing it’s his family that is creating barriers for her business to help support the animal shelter. Hudson is cat sitting Oliver, a very prissy white cat. Add in coffee witch best friend, a brilliant stepsister, and a loving brother, you have all of the hallmarks of a great romantic comedy, full of hilarious banter and misunderstandings. The characters are all fans of a podcast called Lit Lovers which is common theme throughout the book. I am so excited to see which character will be featured in the next series and I look forward to seeing Georgia, Cookie, Hudson, and Oliver in the next book!

Hate You Later: Lit Lovers Series #1 by Ciara Blume

This is the first book I've read by the author. Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers Series. Hate You Later is a great read. I didn't put it down until I was done with it. I didn't realize that it was a fast read.

Georgia is a small business owner and going through a rent hike. She punches one brother and literally runs into the other. Then she realizes that her buddy is the one person she despises. The quote I chose for Georgia is: “I didn’t sleep great last night. Nothing that a little bit of Kenna’s coffee can’t fix right up. I see you’ve both met Emily?”

Hudson is back in town to clean up his step brother's mess. Little does he know that there is more than one mess. He then meets Georgia and finds that he can't keep his mind off her. The quote I chose for Hudson is: “Is there anything else I need to know about? Any other surprise ‘executive’ decisions you’ve made? You left me the contact info for the foreman and copies of all the documents for the permits?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

4 Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This romantic comedy was sweet and fun to read. I love the cover of the book and it drew me in instantly and a story that I needed to curl up to after a long week….

Georgia is a spunky, business owner of Celestial
Pets …. who also takes the world on her shoulders. Georgia tries to also help save a local pet shelter while making cute costumes for pet owners…while balancing a big increase in her rental space. Hudson Holm is all business… trying to clean up the aftermath after a fallout at the pet shelter and rent increases… while trying to take care of a cat named Oliver. When Georgia is paired up with Hudson for a social media frenzy that you need to use your pet while conversing… the fun begins. Hudson has Oliver the cat while Georgia has Cookie her dog. The banter back and forth….and not knowing they know each otherwise… what happens when Georgia finds out that Hudson is partly responsible with the rental increases and the pet shelter losing their space?

I loved Georgia’s character as I can totally relate trying to take care of everyone even at times of struggle.

I highly recommend this book!

This was a new author for me to read and enjoy, certainly I know for a fact now, I will be looking forward to reading more by this author! The writing style was easy to read, and very light and refreshing!

I loved this story, it was a light hearted read, yes, but there was so much to it. Of course I will read anything under romance, throw in animals, and you know I am sold completely. I loved the author did a good blend as if making a good smoothie, you had romance moments, stressful moments, and moments where you did not know where the characters would end up as you turned the pages. The story and intrigue, and moments where you HAD to know what would happen next after the events. I very much enjoyed the author's writing style and the story and characters they created. Look forward to reading more!

Wonderful read. I felt it was refreshing, like the smell outside after it rained. Definitely a read worth reading. Highly recommend this book as well as the author. Both are a must read Author has gained a new fan!

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were easy to like and the enemies to lovers story was good with a unique twist.
This story is definately a rom com filled with funny goings on. Our main characters at first hate each other after Georgia finds out that Hudson is part of the family that is messing up her business and threatening the animal shelter she cares so much about.
Any attraction that was there goes in an instant to hate.
But there is a twist in this tale.
Georgia is part of an influencer challenge as her pet dog and she is paired with a cat?

As they work as a team to complete the challenges the connection between them gets stronger but neither knows who is behind their pets.
What happens when the owners come out from behind their pets? Will the attraction still be there? Or will they continue to fight like cat and dog?

This is a really fun story and I loved the pet element it added extra mystery to the story as you don't know who is behind the pets and when it is reveled you will be shocked and happily surprised.

I LOVED this story! It is vastly entertaining! I enjoyed the fast pace and the lovely characters! It all just blended together perfectly to make a sweetly charming story. There are many humorous moments that made me laugh out loud.

The characters are well done and yet flawed at the same time. I was excited to get to know them! They really are likable and/or lovable and I enjoyed them immensely. The interactions between the two main personalities is one of my favorite things about this story. Watching them get together is the sweetest. Secondary characters are just as delightful. I liked that there were a limited number of characters that I could learn about and love. Too many and it is easy to get lost but this book isn't like that at all.

I could write more and more about what I loved about this book. My best suggestion is just to get it and enjoy it yourself. I could not have asked for a better story from a new to me author than between the Viking and the Battle Pixie. Get it! You wont be sorry!

Later Hater!

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers Series Book 1) by Ciara Blume

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers Series and is a super fun Rom Com that I absolutely loved reading. I’m fairly new to this author but I’m definitely adding her to my list to check out what other books she has written. I had so much fun reading this book I caught myself laughing a lot. The characters are fun and developed and make the story come to life. It’s not at all what I was expecting but it was just what I needed to read . This is a story about Georgia and Hudson, she has a business making pet costumes and his family owns the building. These two are both about to use there pets in online chat to get to know each other. I was laughing so hard at times I was asked what was so funny and I kept on reading. I highly recommend reading this super fun book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Oh my goodness, she might be little, but she has a black belt and will punch you out. I loved the bar scene where she knocked out Bryce. Though, my favorite was the accidental punch to Hunter towards the end. Georgia is an absolute pistol that will take you by surprise. She is just trying to run her business and save the animal shelter. Hunter just happens to be part of the crappy family that evicted them from the location where the shelter used to be. I laughed so hard while reading this book. It is definitely a love/hate relationship at the start. They grow on each other as the chemistry starts to perk. It was a delight to read and watch their relationship grow. The struggle is real, people. Love isn’t perfect. The tone and flow of the story is just right. The characters were perfect. They were so relatable. Overall, a romantic comedy to love.

I love that this is not the only installment we are going to get of these characters! The book was fun and flirty and frustrating - a complete package!

I am a huge fan of 90's rom coms and this was nostalgic for that type of story. The author did an incredible job of creating an homage to "You've Got Mail" and it even included pets! There is definitely a niche for romantic literature that includes dogs and cats because so many of us really incorporate their lives and attitudes into our own. I love doing anything that I can bring my dog along to, so the main events of this book were something I can completely relate to. The characters were unique but universal - I am sure every one reading has a friend like Kenna, and knows the jerk from high school like Bryce.

Couldn't put this one down, and can't wait for the next book in the series!

If you are looking for a book that will give you all the feels, leave you grinning like a cheshire cat and at times literally laughing out loud, then this book is for you!

Hate You Later by Ciara Blume follows feisty, tough Georgia Starr. She's on a mission to save the animal shelter and hopes the pet-infuencer challenge she entered her boxer mutt in will help. Can she do it without doing what she hates most, opening up and asking for help?

Enter Hudson Holm. He's, handsome, wealthy and just so happens to be part of the family who is responsible for closing the animal shelter.

Georgia and Hudson clash like cats and dogs...but opposites attract!

This story had such great characters. The banter was so entertaining. I did not want to put this book down. The enemies to lovers trope is in full swing in this romantic comedy and I could not get enough!

Georgia owns a small town pet store and has entered into a Pet Influencer contest with her dog, Cookie. Hudson's family owns a large company that owns the building Georgia's shop rents, and has just raised the rent. He, too, has entered the contest but with his cat, Oliver. Coincidentally, they have been paired up in the contest. The two keep running into each other but Hudson's business threatens Georgia's business. With Georgia's hatred of Hudson's family and their business, the sparks that are flying are either love or hate.
Opinion
This is definitely a "meet cute' book. With the two bumping into each other constantly, the reader sits on the edge waiting for them to realize who the other one is. Laughter and frustration are certain while reading this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves cute love stories.

Cute concept

There's definitely a lot to like about this one: a focus on animals, likeable characters, a world being built, nods to troupes and cliches, a definite feel of real world, current day issues.

One problem for me was the pace. The author did really well building up the tension, but the end careened a bit out of control for me. More details of the main characters' personalities--showing, not telling--would've helped, I think.

My main issue (and this is very much a "me" thing) is that I don't like when people not from Cascadia set books there. The descriptions feel off and people don't behave as they would in that setting (umbrellas and pashminas? no. diners with baristas? separate entities.) and it really pulls me out of the characters' world.

Overall though this one made me smile and I look forward to returning to Ephron.

Georgia is a fighter, and she's spent most of her life fighting for herself, which makes it hard for her to accept help, even from her best friend and brother, when she faces losing everything she loves because of some financial strains. Entering a social media contest featuring pets is her hope to build more clientele for her small pet accessories business. As she navigates through challenges as her dog, Cookie, she gets to know her partner in the contest, a cat named Oliver - or rather his owner. Meanwhile, a real axe throwing viking fantasy come true enters her life and frustrates her in too many ways to count. Can she figure out how to let someone into her life?

This is such a cute story with great characters and lots of twists along the way.

I LOVED this story so much! Honestly I think it’s up there with my favourite reads of 2022 and I love that this is also the first book that I have read by this author. This is one of those books that could so easily be turned into a film – I would happily sit and watch this any day of the week! I loved everything about this book, it was funny, emotional, romantic and so much more. I adored the characters both human and furry!!! The story was so much fun to read, it flowed well and it really was just an absolute pleasure to read.
This was a wonderful read, one I thoroughly enjoyed and could talk about all day and 100% one that I would recommend to other readers looking for a lovely light-hearted read with wonderful characters!

Absolutely a 5 star read and I would give it more if I could!! OMG I really needed this fun and so entertaining read. It truly lifted my spirits. With so many laugh out loud moments my family thought I was going a little crazy when they kept hearing me laugh while reading it but I just told them a damn good book from such an amazing fun author as this will do that to you LOL.
I loved the all the characters but of course especially Georgia and Hudson. We have all read the enemies to lovers style of books before but I tell you this one was so well written I really can't rave enough about it. This fantastic book just leaves you with the biggest smile on your face! I truly can't wait to read more of this series and from this wonderful talented author.

This was such a fun read and I could not put it down. I NEEDED to know what will happen next between Georgia and Hudson.
I loved every moment with Cookie/Georgia and Oliver/Hudson from the first moment they met each other, to the back and forth as their pet alter ego without knowing who the other person was, to when they finally figure out the truth about each other. They are so deliciously fun, especially Georgia's Viking fantasies come to life.
I loved the banter between all the characters; the family love they have for each other and teaching Georgia that it's ok to ask for help; and the community coming together to support her local pet shop and animal shelter.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a fun and entertaining romance that is easy to read and very easy to enjoy. I found this to be one of those books that you get swept up in and read in one sitting. I was rooting for the characters and wanted to see how things would work out in the end.
This is a new author to me and I enjoyed getting to know her writing style. She has created a book that has the right amount of romance mixed with the right amount of emotion. The book flowed well and I was caught up in the story from the moment I started reading. This was a great story and I look forward to discovering more of her work.

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers series. The blurb sounded like a fun rom-com, and the story did not disappoint. Of course, there is a happily ever after but I enjoyed the realistic dialogue between the main characters. This is a fun, enjoyable getaway read that had me laughing at the story. I also enjoyed the cats and dogs. What better way to get to know someone than through the cats and dogs in their lives?
Georgia is a relatable character to me having difficulty asking others for help. Hudson was a good counter to Georgia. I enjoyed the back and forth between the two of them.
I look forward to reading more in this series soon.

Such a fun book! Pets and romance definitely mix! I knew from the start it was going to be a mess with Hudson and Georgia, but a mess I looked forward to watching. All the ways in which they are connected, whether it was through friends, the pet influencer challenge or just bumping into each other, you could tell there was something between them. It was super sweet to see Hudson kind of fall in love right from the beginning, he couldn’t get Georgia off his mind and even though they were opposites, they definitely attracted. His brother Bryce is a real piece of work and his dad Walker, yikes, but they made for interesting additions to the story. Definite recommendation!
