Was für eine großartige Fortsetzung rund um die Familie Wiesengrund und die inzwischen recht zahlreichen Fabelwesen an ihrer Seite. Diesmal geht es in die magischen Tiefen des Meeres und die Beschreibungen lassen einen sofort selbst von einem Tauchgang träumen. Dazu eine spannende Geschichte mit einem interessanten Bösewicht und schönen Wendungen. Im Gegensatz zum vorherigen Teil fand ich es auch wieder angenehm kindgerecht, ohne dass es dadurch an Qualität eingebüßt hätte. Freundschaft, Mut und Rücksichtnahme gegenüber fremdartigen Wesen stehen hier wieder im Vordergrund. Eine wunderbare Reise! Hier hält das fantastische Cover was es verspricht <3

Der Band ist wieder in sich abgeschlossen, aber man sollte zumindest Teil 1 der Reihe vorher gelesen haben.

I loved it!! This installment was even more enjoyable than the second. The stakes and tension were high throughout and we got a Nettlebrand-worthy successor in the villain department! The ending felt a bit rushed, but it seems that it was intentionally left open for further books :)

My only complaint is that we need more Sorrel! The sassy, mushroom munching brownie is my favorite character! I feel like she’s been lost a bit as the books have progressed. This issue was alluded to in the storyline, so fingers crossed we see more of her next time.

Hope to return to this world again soon!

Was soll ich sagen? Der erste Teil dieser Trilogie war das erste Buch, das ich je gelesen habe. Mein Herz hängt ganz besonders an dieser Geschichte und an den Figuren. Cornelia Funke hat wieder einmal gezaubert und mich in eine Welt voller Fabelwesen entführt. Ich bin so dankbar für dieses Buch.

I was pretty disappointed in this one, sadly, and it didn't live up to my expectations from the other two. It suffered a lot from cast bloat, with so many main characters that none of them had much time or character development, and it seemed to be trying hard to fit time for all of them plus a large amount of minor new characters in it. The location was bland compared to the magical places I'd come to expect from the other two, and the unintelligent villain never had the same air of menace like Nettlebrand and Kraa. Though the stakes were higher, the characters seemed to overcome their challenges with ease. On the positive side, it was interesting seeing all of the diverse fantastical creatures taken from myths all over the world, and Freddie was a nice addition to the team.

Eine sehr süße Geschichte mit Charakteren, die einem im Laufe der vorherigen Büchern ans Herz gewachsen sind, sowie mit einigen neuen Gesichtern und Schauplätzen und der Message, wie schön und erhaltenswert unsere Welt doch ist. Hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und mir gleich wieder Lust bereitet, wieder in weitere Welten von Cornelia Funke abzutauchen :)

Wohlwollende 4 Sterne als Anerkennung des wunderbaren Schreibstils der Autorin. Ansonsten hätte ich dem Buch 3 - 3,5 Sterne verliehen, da es leider, im Vergleich zu den beiden anderen Teilen, deutlich an Spannung und Handlung eingebüßt hat.

Eine gelungene Fortsetzung der Drachenreiter-Reihe mit vielen neuen Charakteren zum liebhaben, und einer überzeugenden Handlung.
Bei dem Versuch, die Geschichte von Lung, Ben und allen anderen weiterzuerzählen bleibt aber manchmal der Zauber auf der Strecke, den der erste Teil noch so wunderbar einfangen konnte.

Eine wunderschöne Fortsetzung der Drachenreiter Reihe, in der altbekannte und neue Freund:innen gemeinsam für eine gute Zukunft kämpfen. Herzerwärmend und spannend, wie sich die verschiedenen Menschen, Tiere und Fabelwesen begegnen und Abenteuer erleben. Dieses Buch ist wie so viele von Cornelia Funkes Werken zwar ein Kinderbuch, aber ebenso gut für Erwachsene geeignet, da viele wichtige Themen angesprochen werden - Schuld, Freund:innenschaft, Liebe, Familie und erwachsen/älter werden, aber auch Hass und Rache und wie wir damit umgehen. Große Empfehlung, wie quasi alle Bücher der Autorin.

Nos encontramos tanto a personajes conocidos como nuevos. También vamos viendo los cambios en la vida de ellos (con interesantes sorpresas). En esta ocasión las aventuras los llevan a preparar la llegada de la legendaria Aurelia a las costas de California, la cual después de miles de años surgirá de las profundidades del mar para traer una nueva esperanza al mundo (esperaba que desarrollara más esto en el final del libro).

Naturalmente, estará el villano (me pareció infantil y caricaturizado) que hará que las cosas no sean nada fáciles y pondrá en peligro la existencia de las criaturas fantásticas. Me gusta esa mezcla y variedad de criaturas fantásticas (algunas más adorables que otras).

Un libro para pasar un buen rato.

I do love this series and how each one has a standalone adventure, while adding to the lore and characters of this world. The two sequels do feel very different than Dragon Rider though, and I think that's due to them being written so far apart, but overall I'm not mad about it. it just doesn't feel the same.
This adventure takes our friends on a transcontinental adventure as they try to save the entire magical world and protect the creature known as the Aurelia.
Overall, it was another great adventure in this urban fantasy series.

Band 3 hat mir wieder besser gefallen als sein Vorgänger. Er ist etwas länger, nimmt sich mehr Zeit für seine Figuren (außer vielleicht Schwefelfell) und es gibt wieder Kapitel aus der Sicht des Antagonisten. Am besten fand ich aber die Kapitel unter Wasser (nicht zuletzt aufgrund der Hörbuchproduktion mit ihrem grandiosen Klangteppich), die interessante neue Figuren mit ihrer eigenen stimmlosen Signalsprache mit sich bringen (das Verhältnis zwischen weiblichen und männlichen Charakteren ist allerdings nach wie vor zu Gunsten der Männer unausgeglichen). Es ist schön, dass Guinever und ihre Mutter endlich etwas mehr Spielraum bekommen. Von Fliegenbein (und seinem nervigen Bruder Freddy) hätte ich hingegen weniger in Kauf nehmen können, v. a. weil sich einige seiner Handlungsstränge aus vorigen Bänden wiederholen.

Soweit ich es einschätzen kann (und das ist aus meiner weißen) Perspektive nicht sehr weit) wird mit den Menschen und der Kultur der Chumash, die im Roman vorkommen, respektvoll umgegangen. Zumindest verwendet niemand, im Gegensatz zu den Reckless-Büchern, das I-Wort.

Ich wäre dabei, wenn noch weitere Bände folgen, v. a. wenn sie sich jeweils mehr auf einzelne Charaktere wie Guinever fokussieren und nicht immer versuchen, ein ganzes Spektrum an Figuren abzudecken.

Delightful and enchanting! The third in the series is as good as the first one, a world of magic beasts; a story told in such a credible way! Good and evil and the whole range of in-between!
This book and the ones before are the perfect read-aloud; the language is creating a real flow, it is by no means simple or childlike prose. The sentences are well crafted, fluid in structure, varied in expression and choice of words, sometimes seldom used adjectives but immediately comprehensible in story and context.
You wouldn’t think that it was originally written in English (the first two in German) but the Translator did a very good job finding her German tone and melody.
The book cannot really be categorized as children; my son at 14 ys, experienced in science-fiction, comics, mangas and light novels, was delighted. Of course, it is not nearly as complex as HP, but stands for itself and gave me as much joy while reading as him. A very good start in our year of books!

The final installment in the Dragon Rider series. A solid, lovely, fantasy adventure story. I felt like I was revisiting old friends, and seeing how they were and what they were up to.

-Something I forgot to mention in my Dragon Rider review. The dragons live off of moonlight that helps them to fly. I started writing a vampire series (with other things such as werewolves and witches) back in high school called The Darkwood Chronicles (yes) and actually had the cringe idea of having my vampires drink moonlight to survive…yeesh. I got that inspiration from Dragon Rider though, since I read it in high school.

-Twigleg has a surviving brother! That was a lovely addition to the cast and a nice surprise.

-Ben is becoming like Daenerys! :D fire won’t affect him, and he is becoming one with his dragon companion in life.

-Ben’s life is explained a little more here <3 His parents died and he was put into an orphanage. It makes sense for the plot, because I would think he’d be known as a missing child that people were looking for, but unfortunately, a lot of missing children are not looked into. Especially if they went missing from a child care facility. We don’t do nearly enough for them. I had always wondered about Ben’s life. It seems like he’s really living out the fantasy here. Getting a loving family, and getting to interact and be a part of all these magical creatures that most people in the world don’t know about. It’s like a storybook (which I guess it is!). It’s like a Disney movie <3 If only every child could have that.

-Speaking of magical creatures, we’ve got more additions (you can never have too many): mermaids, leprechauns, selkies, etc. We’ve also reached different areas of the world (New Zealand, the ocean, California…we’ve reached America!!!)

-Them turning into stone at a certain point, kind of reminded me of the dragons in the first book, and of Raya and the Last Dragon. It was eerie how even after they were brought back, some of the stone still remained in Barnabas’ heart and made him very ill. Poor guy.

-Cadoc Eelstrom was a positively slimy villain. He played his role well. What a nasty guy.

-I also liked the addition of Copper, who sort of played a role like Twigleg’s in the first book. Initially working for the enemy, but not really having a choice in the matter, and then redeeming himself by helping the other side. I felt bad for him, just like I did Twigleg.

-The plot in general was an interesting one. Basically they are living under a different kind of stress from the typical “we have to save the world, because it will get destroyed” kind of plot: They have to save the magical creatures of the world. The world isn’t going to be destroyed, and they themselves (humans and normal animals) are not going to die—but the mythical creatures will. These people who grew up around these wonderful fantasy creatures will have to go back to a world where they don’t exist. It’s like a dark metaphor for leaving childhood behind and growing up. Even though you don’t have to do that…you can simply keep your childhood innocence, whilst also taking on adult responsibilities and honing in on your passions to help the world (such as how they help the creatures they care for).

Also, I know there is a side story called The Volcano Mission, but I can’t really find it in English. Oh well. Maybe one day.

„Vier, um sie anzukündigen, vier, um sie zu empfangen.“ (S. 26)
Cornelia Funke nimmt uns in „Der Fluch der Aurelia“ ein weiteres Mal mit in die Welt des Drachenreiters Ben und seiner Familie und Freunde. Es herrscht riesiger Aufruhr in der Fabelwelt. Aus den Tiefen des Ozeans soll sich die Aurelia erheben und vier Vertretern je eine Samenkapsel übergeben, aus der neue Fabelwesen entstehen. Fühlt sich die Aurelia jedoch bedroht, vernichtet sie die ganzen Fabelwesen. Das können Ben und seine Gefährten nicht zu lassen und so stellen sie sich Cadoc Aalstrom entgegen, der unbedingt an eine der Kapseln gelangen will.

Die Autorin schafft es den Einstieg in ihre Welt ganz leicht gelingen zu lassen, obwohl der zweite Band der Reihe schon fünf Jahre zurückliegt. Sofort ist der Leser in die Welt der Fabelwesen abgetaucht, in der er zunächst Ben und seinen Vater trifft und schon bald die ersten neuen Wesen kennenlernen darf. Nach diesem Einstieg entwickelt sich die Geschichte rasant weiter und die Spannung steigt mit jedem Kapitel. Getragen wird dies durch die beiden Handlungsstränge und -orte, die sich immer weiter annähern und schließlich im großen Finale aufeinander treffen. Hierbei gelingt der Perspektivwechsel fließend und Cornelia Funke schafft es an beiden Orten eine fantastische Atmosphäre zu schaffen.
Die Figuren der Autorin haben die gewohnte Tiefe und sind wie immer toll geschrieben. Auch wenn ich den Bösewicht Cadoc Aalstrom nicht leiden kann, er ist wunderbar beschrieben.
Besonders sind die wunderschönen Illustrationen, die die Geschichte begleiten und auch das wunderschöne Cover, dass die Handlungsorte der Geschichte fantastisch darstellt.
Neben den unglaublichen Beschreibungen vermittelt das Buch aber auch wichtige Themen: die Umweltverschmutzung und der Klimawandel werden angesprochen, genauso wie einige ethische Aspekte. Die wichtigste Aussage ist für mich aber: Die Kleinsten werden die Größten sein.

Der Fluch der Aurelia ist ein Buch für Kinder ab 10, aber auch für Erwachsene. Das Buch kann, obwohl es Teil der Reihe ist auch separat gelesen werden. Für die vielen Namen, die aus Band 1&2 schon bekannt sind und einige Ausdrücke auf Spanisch hat Cornelia Funke einen Anhang angelegt, der eine gute Übersicht bietet. Insgesamt ist es eine tolle abgeschlossene Geschichte, die dennoch einige Fragen offen lässt und die Hoffnung auf einen 4. Band stärkt. Von mir gibt es eine klare Leseempfehlung.

I'm a tad disappointed to say this, but third book in the Dragon Rider series is more or less a repeat of the second book; an average okay book on it's own, but a bland disappointment when compared to the near perfect first book.

Similar to the last book, the plot of this story involves a ticking clock element and an environmental theme, but once again those things just didn't work for me in this text. The medium pace of events coupled with the handful of tangents the characters go on in the story make the limited time aspect feel like almost like a non-aspect, and again, instead of organically layering the theme of environmentalism into the narrative, Funke just has the characters periodically think or state how awful humans can be to the environment and the animals within it, which I just find a bit preachy rather than compelling. Another element of the story that I was a bit disappointed in was the villain. The villain of this book is a human who captures magical creatures and, without remorse, uses their magic for his own gain, and while pure evil villains like this can be fun and intimidating, it didn't like Funke really did anything exciting or interesting with him. He doesn't really do anything particularly threatening or entertaining. He mostly just seems to dwell on how bad he is, and thinks about how much he wants more magic to fuel his desires, which just makes him come off a villain who's all bark and no bite.

Even though I found this third entry to be a similar disappointing sequel as the second book, it's also still an okay book on its own if you ignore the first book. It's plot and characters are still adequately engaging and fun, the prose and dialogue is still pretty solid, and at the very least, this entry serves as good conclusion to a nice rounded trilogy of books. If you've like both of the previous books then you likely have some more fun with this one, but I would still recommend to manage your expectations. If you only like the first book for its child-like sense of whimsy and adventure, with an almost cozy tone, then you may want to skip this one. For me, the first book is still the best and, if I'm being honest, I hope Funke leaves this series as a trilogy doesn't make any more if they're not going to reach the same level as the first.

Back to the kid's books so that I can wrap up this series (at least as far as it's been written). The stakes have been raised - from saving the last pegasus babies last book to saving all magical creatures in this one. This book also adds a ton of characters, which I took issue with in the last book. I had a slightly easier time with this one, perhaps because last book there were good and bad griffins and good and bad monkeys and I couldn't remember all the names. Most of the characters here were more distinct, with the exception of a few mermaids. The one addition that was too abrupt was Freddie. He was just suddenly there and had been there for some time. We get filled in a little bit along the way, but I would have liked to see his story as it happened. And I had hoped to learn more about the Maori protector who speaks whale (the book starts in New Zealand but doesn't stay there long). I also would have liked to know more about the lady who hosts them, and the Starfish man (I've returned the book to the library and can't recall all the names).

We see many characters return from previous books, though don't see too much about the centaur or pegasus from book 2. And of course we get to meet some dragon babies in this one. I enjoyed all the elemental representatives arriving and would liked to have heard more about Bear. I thought the bad guy was suitable though his goal of eliminating all fantastical creatures (when he found some useful) seemed a little extreme. But hey, bad guys are like that. And you couldn't help but feel bad for his henchman who wanted nothing to do with any of this, but found himself in a scenario like Twigleg once had. The leprechaun who shows up as a Loki-esque mischief maker who doesn't take sides in particular (he crosses lines the good guys wouldn't, even when helping them out) was also an interesting addition.

I enjoyed the rest of the adventures pretty well - the underwater quest and characters were a nice departure from the other books. The selkie skins were fun. I still think this will be good series to share with my niece and nephew, though I'm not sure whether as a Christmas gift or just a suggestion for the library.

Ich fand den dritten Band von Drachenreiter doch wieder etwas besser als den zweiten, der mir leider nicht lange im Kopf geblieben ist, wie ich gestehen muss.

Es ist eine schöne, kindgerechte Abenteuergeschichte mit Schauplatz am kalifornischen Strand und vielen Figuren, sowohl menschlichen als auch fantastischen, bekannten und unbekannten. Es gibt viele spannende Szenen und wieder einen richtig klassischen "Bösewicht", der auch Kapitel aus seiner eigenen Perspektive bekommt, was ich tatsächlich ganz gerne mag. Die Themen sind ähnlich wie in den vorherigen Bänden Familie, Mitgefühl, Pazifismus und Naturschutz, also alles gute und wichtige Werte, an Kinder vermittelt. Die uns bereits bekannten Figuren liebe ich auch immer noch, da spricht die Nostalgie aus mir (mit Ausnahme vielleicht von Schwefelfell, die mir immer mehr auf die Nerven geht, je älter ich werde). Die Aurelia ist faszinierend, aber mir nicht ganz geheuer in ihrer undifferenzierten und unnahbaren Natur, sie wurde aber wahrscheinlich mit Absicht so konzipiert. Und Ihre Samen und die Konsequenzen neuer Fabelwesen werden bestimmt im nächsten Teil noch weiter ausgebaut.

Ein paar Aspekte, die ich mir anders gewünscht hätte sind die doch sehr vielen Charakter, die leider alle etwas flach bleiben, auch gab es wenig "foreshadowing" in den letzten Bänden bezüglich der Geschehnisse und Figuren in diesem Teil. Es hat mich wieder gewundert, dass Ben so schnell und konfliktfrei (auch ohne inneren Konflikt, nennt alle ohne Probleme Mom, Dad etc.) in die Familie Wiesengrund integriert wurde, wie viel Freiraum den Kindern von ihren Eltern gewährt wird und dass in diesen Band mehrmals bei verschiedenen Charakteren suizidale Tendenzen sichtbar werden ("wenn die Fabelwesen verschwinden, will ich auch nicht mehr leben").

Ich werde die Reihe auf jeden Fall weiter lesen. 3,5-4 Sterne

I just adore this series by Cornelia Funke and was excited to get my hands on the third in the series. This was my favourite so far I think. I really enjoyed all aspects of the story and the themes and illustrations.

There’s something about the pacing and the humour that just makes her books feel more magical. Something you want to savour and enjoy. I feel like a kid again reading her books.

I absolutely adore the characters in this series especially Twigleg the homunculi who is persnickety but oh so loveable too. The contrast of his brother Freddie’s personality always made me smile too as he groaned as Freddie tap danced through life. Firedrake is of course a favourite as well. I mean he’s a dragon and we all love a dragon. He has this strength that comes across so easily and I love that he is now a father with baby dragons of his own. Guinevere really shines in this one as she is in her element as she transforms and travels beneath the sea to help protect the Aurelia. The whole idea there was amazing and I’m jealous it’s not real life. Ben as well has a transformation of sorts and this brings changes for the future I’m guessing. I’m hopeful it also means we will get more books in this series.

There are strong themes of protecting nature and all its wildness and fabulous creatures that have been in all the books. I always appreciate it and also the team’s dedication to non-violence even as they face a strong and unrelenting enemy in Cadoc Eelstrom, a greedy man from Barnabas’s past. It would be easy to stoop but they never do and struggle with the what alternative they have but in the end a creative solution presents itself.

All in all, a beautiful book filled with beautiful illustrations, fabulous creatures galore, protecting nature and a good old fashioned battle of good vs evil.

Darum geht’s: Im dritten Abenteuer von Drachenreiter Ben und seinem Drachen Lung wartet das bisher größte Abenteuer: Ein gigantisches Wesen aus der Tiefsee wird an Land kommen und seine Saat für neue Fabelwesen streuen. Vier Samenkapseln müssen entgegengenommen werden. Passiert das nicht, werden alle Fabelwesen für immer von der Erde verschwinden. Zu allem Übel taucht auch noch ein alter Feind von Barnabas auf. Und der hat keine friedlichen Absichten…

Das Buch ist - wie auch schon die beiden Vorgänger - unheimlich fantasievoll erzählt und sehr schön zu lesen. Selbstverständlich gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit Schwefelfell, Lola und Fliegenbein - und dazu noch viele weitere neue Wesen wie kleinen Drachen, einem verzauberten Seestern, Selkies und Meerjungfrauen. Überhaupt spielt ein großer Teil des Buches unter Wasser, und ich war sofort gefangen von der Weite und Ruhe, die die Tiefsee ausstrahlt.
Der Bösewicht ist einer, der den Namen verdient, und mächtig, weil er sich die Magie untertan macht und sie ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste ausbeutet. Das können die Wiesengrunds und ihre Verbündeten natürlich nicht durchgehen lassen - obwohl er ihnen im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes dicke Steine in den Weg legt.

Cornelia Funke erzählt mit viel Humor und warmherzig von kleinen und großen Wesen, die alle ihren Platz in der Welt suchen und weckt die Sehnsucht in uns, beim Besuch im Wald oder am Meer ebenfalls die Fabelwesen entdecken zu können, die sie in ihren Bücher beschreibt. Das Ende macht Hoffnung auf einen weiteren Band - vielleicht sogar wieder in der Tiefsee?

I couldn’t help but still rate this book highly, as I devoured it and love this world Cornelia Funke has created, but this book was the weakest of the trilogy in my opinion.

Once again, if you need to put a guide in the back of a book to explain who everyone is, you’ve added too many characters. They felt pretty one-dimensional to me.

My biggest issue, though, was the buildup of the plot and the eventual resolution. It felt anticlimactic and somewhat rushed. Despite the antagonist being poised to be their deadliest villain yet, he seemed easily defeated. Every snag in the road seemed like such a big deal, but they all had easy answers. The Aurelia spent 99% of the book floating to the surface of the ocean, and her entire arc wrapped up in less than a page. I would have loved more info on the pods’ journeys, on the creatures within that were released. More time spent with this immortal jellyfish that supposedly gifted all fabulous creatures to the world. I feel like you can’t present me with a character like that and then whisk her away so quickly.

But maybe this is the setup to a fourth book, and I’ll have my answers and resolutions in due time. I guess we’ll see.

Also, I know this is a children’s series and I’m looking at it through an adult lens, so maybe the most important part is that I still had fun reading it.

⭐️4,5/5 📚 eine Wunderschöne Geschichte über Fabelwesen wie Drachen, Greife und dieses Mal kommen auch Unterwasser Fabelwesen hinzu! Auch wenn ich definitiv nicht zur Zielgruppe gehöre, mag ich die Story sehr gerne. All die Fabelwesen sind mir direkt ans Herz gewachsen! Ich liebe Drachen, Pegasus, Kobolde, Feen usw.. Auch wenn nicht mega Action war, ist es immer interessant geblieben und es kam nie Langeweile auf. Es ist ein wunderbares Wohlfühl Buch 📖 ich konnte mich in die Geschichte fallen lassen und bin überzeugt! Ben der Protagonist ist sehr jung aber auch selbstlos, schön finde ich das die Charaktere sich vielleicht nicht immer 100% leiden können, aber dennoch immer komplett zusammen halten. Ich finde es toll wie viel Magie und Wunder in diesen Büchern stecken! Ich würde mich sehr über einen Band 4 freuen!

Endlich ein neues Abenteuer mit Drachenreiter Ben und seinen Gefährten. Ein gigantisches Wesen aus der Tiefsee wird an Land kommen und seine Saat streuen. Ausgerechnet im dicht besiedelten Kalifornien. Wichtig ist, dem Ungeheuer friedlich zu begegnen. Und: Jede der vier Samenkapseln muss von einem Fabelwesen der vier Elemente entgegengenommen werden. Passiert das nicht, droht eine Katastrophe. Und als wäre das noch nicht genug, wittert ein Feind von Barnabas seine Chance.

I actually dnf'd this book, and since I was like 50% of the way through, I decided that I would actually write a review about it. Because, in my opinion, I believe that if people have left a review when they have read only like 10% of the book, then why are they reviewing it? They didn't know enough about the book to review it! I was like 58% of the way through when I was done with it, so I had enough information about the book, because I was past the 50% mark, to know that I wanted to DNF. Anyways, I was just really bored by this book. I LOVED Dragon Rider, which was the first book, but the rest of the books in the series just really fell flat for me. I think I'm just going to give it three stars to be nice though. I mean, I didn't hate it, I just dnf'd it because I was stuck on this book for a while, and I wanted to be done with it already, but I knew it would take me a while to finish, and I wouldn't really end up liking it that much when I finished it, so I decided to not waste my time, and I dnf'd it.

Ich glaube es gibt kein Buch von Cornelia Funke, dass ich nicht geliebt habe. Mit dem Fluch der Aurelia ist es kein bisschen anders. Keiner schreibt so wie sie, macht die Welt ihrer Geschichte und jedes Gefühl so greifbar. Ich glaube man merkt, was für ein großer Fan ich bin. 😂
Den ersten Drachenreiter-Band habe ich vor langer Zeit mit circa 11 Jahren gelesen und habe immer davon geträumt, selbst einen Drachen zu haben. Auch jetzt, mit 21 schafft Funke es, mich wieder in ihre magische Welt zu ziehen und lädt zum Träumen ein. Ich konnte gar nicht anders als mit Ben, Lung und Co. mitzufiebern. Bestimmt spielt hier auch eine gute Menge an Nostalgie mit hinein, aber ich habe den dritten Band der Reihe wieder so sehr genossen. Ganz klare Leseempfehlung für jüngere LeserInnen aber auch für alle, die so wie ich in ihre Kindheit abtauchen wollen. Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen. ❤️

I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked the other two...but it was still good. It just doesn't have quite the same feel which I think is because the other two were written in German (Cornelia Funke's native tongue) and then translated into English, but this one was written in English first (It just seems to me that you're catching a bit of that in the writing. I think you always sound a bit different in your native language than in any second language even when you're as awesomely fluent as Cornelia is. Plus then there's the translation process - sometimes it can make books sound a bit different.). It is a bit shorter of a story too - mostly focused around one event instead of a whole bunch.
But even though I like the other two better (and will always have a special place for the first especially) this one was still awesome. :)
