Wild and carefree, that's me.

I’ve always been an odd one, never caring what people thought of me. Some people expect me to be a certain way because I’m an omega, but I dance to the beat of my own drum.

I’m 21. That means going to Calling Wood University and finding a pack to share my first heat with.

I’ve never hated the idea of finding a pack, but I wasn’t going to settle for just anyone. I don’t care about finding my scent match, but I want people who won’t try to change me.

And luck is on my side when I take on a temporary pack to help me through my first heat. Little did I know I might have found my forever pack. They accept me, accept my career choice.

But when a family emergency brings me home short notice, I find myself going into heat at the worst possible time. That’s when I find out two alphas who I’ve known my whole life have been keeping secrets from me.

Blinded by the frenzy of my heat, I do what my body demands. After the haze clears, the pain of betrayal hits me.

Because we’re scent matched, I physically need them to live. But they have another thing coming if they think I’m going to give up everything for them after what they did.

***This is a polyamorous relationship. The FMC does not choose between her love interests. MMFFMM

i was honestly bored for a lot of this book. the sex felt blah, the dynamics felt weirdly rushed, but then also felt like they took forever to build?? i kept waiting for Dane and Chandler to be reintroduced after we meet them in the first chapter and it took so long!!! once they were brought back in, i was really happy even if it took forever for the whole pack to come together

overall a very average book. didn't hate it, didn't love it

okay STOP ittttttt.

this was SUCH an amazing omegaverse and the dynamics were so interesting.

we have two sets of packs that come together for their omega 🥰🥹

Chandler and Dane are Willow’s (h) dad’s best friends and knew her her entire life (so age gap they are in their 40s) and they find out Willow is their scent match when she presents as an omega when she turns 18. they are obviously coming to terms with that but decide to stay away from her until three years later when she returns home for an emergency and goes into heat.

The thing about Willow is that she’s been kept under lock and key since she turned 18 and isn’t looking to be put back into a cage. So she goes to school to find a pack and she find Nash, Ledger, and Aubrey. They are a misfit pack of two alphas and a beta but MY GODDDDDDDD they are all so hot together. they form a bond with Willow and no one is left out or jealous. they are so insanely protective and supportive of Willow that they promise to never hold her back.

So trying to get these two established packs to come together was a challenge, but everyone wants Willow to be happy and Willow loves everyone!

it was surprisingly pretty low angst and the drama happened really late and it was a shock because i wasn’t expecting it AT ALL. but it was an outside force that really brought them together.

i hope there will be more books in this world because i loved it so much!

The dynamic was great in this book along with the whole storyline. There were some twists that you weren't expecting, which added to the book. Overall a great OMV book

DNF @ 31% Nope, no thank you. As a 42 year old woman, I was a bit grossed out by the age gap to begin with and then the talk about changing her diapers as a baby made it even worse. And then they took advantage of her while she was already distressed about her brother being in the hospital and in heat, too? Gross gross.

Also, the characters and relationships were poorly developed, so I really didn't care about any of them anyway.

not my favorite. the plot was lacking... why are kidnappings so prominent in omegaverse?? 😭😭 and i wished the packs would have merged more than they did.

Wild Child was so much fun to read. I love how carefree, brave, and determined Willow is, especially when I'm so used to the meeker omegas. She was decisive, strong, willful, outgoing. I also loved Aubrey, she's one of those people that don't let anything slide, will protect the people she loves but will also do her best to build bridges within the pack, and she's a beta, probably my favorite character. Ledger and Nash are just adorable. Their relationship was hot and intense, just like the relationship with the girls. Dane and Chandler are the perfect polar opposites. Dane is determined and impulsive while Chandler is softer, thinks before acting, caring, but at the same time I really enjoyed watching the growth of the two packs, and how Dane grew to care for and defend the others. The story had a great pace and plot as well as deliciously steamy times, and a plot twist that I never expected. In it you'll find tropes like age gap, enemies to friends, second chance, betrayal, secrets, redemption, grumpy/sunshine as well as MM and FF relationships. Great story all around!

I love that this book had a different twist to how packs were made. I loved the age gap part of it and that they were dads best friends. I also really liked that they had a female beta in their pack, and how well their dynamic worked.

Hot Omegaverse Read!

I loved how confident Willow is in this story. She knows what she wants, what she doesn’t want and she goes for it. She does things differently and because of how great she is, others fall in line. The spin on this book is novel for me and I loved it! I applaud this authors for pushing past the regular norms in this genre and can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

I LOVE how the Calling Wood universe is expanding and the little throwbacks we got in this book to the other characters. This book was AMAZING. It was also unique, in that it wasn’t your typical pack right from the get go. Getting to see packs not only combine (which I love and isn’t done enough in OV books) but also adding in the age gap with two of her alphas. It made this book different from a lot of OV’s out there.
I also loved how Willow really became a strong FMC and came into herself throughout the story with the support of her pack. They let her be herself and supported her no matter what that meant.
This truly was an amazing read and I hope we continue to get more in the Calling Wood universe.

When Willow turns 18, unbeknownst to her, her dad’s best friends, Dane and Chandler, scent her and realize she is their fated mate. When they tell her dad, he warns them off and basically locks her up so that she has limited freedom. A few years later, and she is old enough to go to Calling Wood university and finally has her freedom. Because of her secluded up-bringing she doesn’t want to be tied down, but knows she needs a pack for her heat. Enter, Nash and Ledger, and their beta, Aubrey. I really liked What Will Willow do when she falls for her heat pack and finds out about her scent matches:) I really loved this story and seeing what happens when their are scent matches but also those Willow has fallen for. Great story with lots of spice and some intriguing and dark twists.

Such a cute feel good read! I absolutely love the character development, and the relationships that develop throughout the story.
I will say I wasn’t expecting anything major to come out of Tony’s behavior/reactions so that did throw me for a loop! The selling his daughter was a surprise and a good way to incorporate some drama but it was also done tastefully so it was not drug out throughout the whole book.

I absolutely ADORE Nash and Aubs, hands down my two favorite characters!

Wild Child by Cassie Lein and Alisha Williams is a sweet, smexy Omegaverse book. We meet Willow, an Omega who has been kept at home by her father. She finally turns twenty-one and heads to Calling Wood University. She needs to find a temp pack to ride out her heat with. I love Willow. She is figuring out who she is and what she wants. I love the pack she finds. They get her and let her be who she wants. Loved it. I love the Calling Wood University stories and hopefully there will be more!

This was cute! I generally like Alisha Williams.

I kind of wish there was more groveling with Dane. He was kind of an ass and just wanted more than just 2 dinners … also would have like more elaboration on the conflict at the end

My rating is more about my personal taste and less about the quality of the book. I liked and was enjoying a majority of this book, but there were also some interesting story choices.

What I liked: the communication between everyone in the younger group, how supportive the younger group was of Willow's choices and autonomy, the sexy times were fun and fairly well written.

What I didn't like: the large age gap, the poor grovel from Dane over his actions and claiming bite, the dubcon of Willow's first heat, the disparate feeling between the two packs, not enough on page relationship development (mostly in relation to Dane and Chandler with Willow and the pack as a whole), the "evil" dad and kidnapping storyline came out of nowhere.

I would have liked this so much better if it had just been about Willow and the younger group (Nash, Ledger and Aubrey). This would have worked just as well without the age gap scent matches. Dane and Chandler didn't bring much to the table other than a taboo element. I'm also conflicted over the FF part of the story. I liked Willow and Aubrey together when it was just them but adding in Nash and Ledger made it difficult for me to believe there was no jealousy. That is entirely a me thing and not because of the writing. The authors made it abundantly clear that no one has hard feelings about "extra" women or men being in the pack.

I can see I'm the odd one out on this review but I hated how Willow treated and acted twords her scent matches. They saw she was so young being only 18 when they scented her and keeping it to themselves and at one of her dad's request (her scent matches best friend) tell she was older. I didn't like that Dane marked her (at her request in heat haze) but she did ask, no begged him to do it and then everyone was like he did it without her consent, no, no he did not! Yes he should have waited but she played her role too and the way she acted and treated them after pissed me off. I love the other three of her pack too but the two scent matches really got the short end without the need for it. I would have liked to see the whole group feel more like family and end up loving everyone.

Well Written

This book does an excellent job of playing with both the instant attraction that people can have as well as the need to build solid foundations and actually develop a whole relationship. Characters in this book run the gamut of falling from grace, supporting each other, making mistakes, spreading their wings, and many other important parts of life—and it is all done in a believable manner. There’s moments of tension, quality pacing, well-developed characters, and a nice variety of well-written spice. It came to a natural, unique HEA ending that, even though I didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters, was satisfying and fulfilling at the same time. I never felt any of the scenes or moments of growth were rushed or short-changed; I will be reading more books by this author.

Wild Child is a whychoose, Omegaverse standalone that is well worth the read. This is apart of the same universe as the Calling Wood University standalones (We are Worthy, We are Destiny, Knot Going Anywhere)

You have
MMFMM-MM-FF
Omegaverse
Dad's Best friend
Age Gap
Cam Girl
Steamy AF
Standalone

I absolutely love this dynamic duo. This is also my first from this shared universe and I'm hooked. This definitely is such a vibe and such a fantastic palette cleanser. Willow is such a wonderful character and absolutely loved her personality. I'm definitely interested in checking out the rest of the stories in this shared universe. So freaking good!!

Pack or scent match

This one has you rooting for everyone and wanting to get stabby with everyone all at the same time. It starts out with our silver foxes finding their scent match who is forbidden from them and then she takes off to college and meets a pack who is appealing circumstances happen and she finds out about her scent match but still wants her pack. More things happen like out of control markings, kidnappings, all the things before these 2 opposing forces work out their differences over their love for their omega.

This one could have been better for me!

I reallllly wanted to love this one. But I just don’t like the way Chandler and Dane are portrayed. Willow acts so immature. Like, I get it. They’re a lot older than you. But you’re literally admitting that you had a crush on both of them growing up and now they’re your scent matches and that’s ew? Give me a break. They gave you several years to go out and find yourself instead of making it known they’re your scent matches right off the bat. They’ve been suffering because they know you’re theirs but they don’t want to ruin your life. Obvi I don’t agree with Dane wanting her to quit camming but I don’t know. I’m just annoyed with it right now. And then to come straight back from running out on them after Dane marked you, even though it was “against your will” and let two other alpha’s mark you to like, what? One up your scent matches? I’m only 44% in. This view could change! 47% in and you’re registering as a pack but haven’t even talked to Dane or Chandler about it?! Why am I so frustrated about this? Lol.
51% in and she’s just sooooo confused on what to do about her scent matches. She hasn’t even TRIED to do anything.

“Who tells someone the dress code when taking them on a date? That’s weird right?” she asks.

Seriously? Have you never been on a date? She’s so stressed out about her scent matches she thinks her heat will be suppressed but she’s literally been having crazy amounts of s3x since they showed up at Calling Wood. *insert eye roll*
Also, I hate how grossed out she is by the age gap. *insert another eye roll* Cause the very next page is her saying she’s had a thing for them as long as she can remember. The two hot older guys. I’m getting whip lash! Do you like the OLDER guys or are you grossed out that they’re older?! Make up your mind.
Honestly, I don’t love how any of the “younger” pack talks to Chandler and Dane like they’re idiots. Kind of like they know better. And it’s almost like she’s forgot that she’s let everyone mark her except Chandler. Like, the most level headed person in the book is forgotten. Lol.
Okay. I’m 81% in and I’m so annoyed at how Chandler and Dane are talking about how mature Willow was being because it must have been soooo hard not to bond her scent matches so that just shows you how strong she is. Lololol. I hate that they’re trying to justify it for her.
I know she’s obviously dealing with her pack stuff but it’s kinda weird she hasn’t been more concerned with her brother being in a coma until 83% in when her mom tells her he woke up. Weird, right?
97% and she finally has another heat. And we see her have s3x with Nash, and then again with Ledger, and then with Aubrey. But we don’t see her with Dane or Chandler. I don’t love that.

Alright, I finally finished. I didn’t hate it. I think my expectations were just too high because I loved We Are Destiny. I loved all the main characters in this book except Willow. I didn’t feel connected to her like I wanted to. I love Omegaverse and I’ll keep reading this series! But this one didn’t hit like I wanted it to!

wild child

I’m trying to understand what I just read? There’s a lot to unpack here. I don’t feel like the two separate “packs” really ever meshed/mingled well together or were written like they truly were cohesive like all characters brought something to the table. It felt like the younger alphas were just teens living their best 0rğy school life- no real responsibilities nothing to bring to the table. They work at a record store and a movie theater. They play video games, go to class and then get spicy. It just felt like the young alphas were boys. Not men, not someone who could take care of and provide. And that’s kinda the basis of what omegaverse is like. I just felt like they were really immature. That’s the impression I got from the writing. The MVP was the female beta, she brought everything to the table and then some- she brought clarity, a level head, she had a job/hobby that was successful and provided, she was probably the only reason I continued to read it.

I feel like it takes a really talented person to spin an age gap romance without making the older characters look creepy. The beginning with the older alphas and the way it was all perceived made it seem creepy- like why? Writing an age gap romance shouldn’t make the main males seem like old creepy men. They’re 45 yes there’s an age gap but it doesn’t have to feel gross. They are in a committed partnership and I feel like with someone like that there comes maturity and ability to speak and articulate. The authors made them seem gross in the beginning then immature, then back to being old.

There’s inconsistencies in the story. Fmc has a paper due tomorrow, then it’s due by the late afternoon, then a sentence later it’s due in two hours. How was that not caught?

The fmc just didn’t feel realistic? She went from being a super sheltered person to camming in a min flat with the content going straight for the gold not even playing off of some of her potential sheltered-ness. Then she’s doling out life advice to her mate’s older brother and it’s just weird. Her whole long winded diatribe on that was odd. She doesn’t have a lot of worldly experience at all and here she is lecturing his brother and telling off her alpha’s parents- it felt like just an odd scene.

This book was spiced focused so if that’s what you’re looking for then cool. I just was hoping for some storyline, something that made sense, something well written? I didn’t get that here.

I thought it was really interesting to note at the end in the “about the author” the author feels like she has to justify this book, going as far as to say that this book was made “despite people wishing for it to fail” that’s just a super odd thing to write about in your book. If you as the author felt like you had to justify this and then praising yourself for persevering, that’s just such a weird flex.

RH MMMMF/University/Enemies to Lovers/Multi PoV

SYNOPSIS: Since Willow, the FC, presented as an omega at 18 she has been kept secluded by her father and her pack. Despite this two of her father’s best friends scent her at a barbecue and realise she is their scented mate. However, due to their friendship with her father and the age difference they agree not to tell her and to stay away. Fast forward 3 years and Willow is being allowed to go to University. She is thrilled to experience the freedom that she has missed for the past 3 years and is determined to live her life on her own terms. She meets a misfit pack (2Alphas and a female Beta) and falls for them. Before she can commit she has to return home as her twin brother has had an accident. Whilst there she goes into heat and her scent matches are the ones that help her out. There is some angst around them not telling her the truth, the pack she has at university and her father being adamant about keeping her away from alphas but there is a HEA.

Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 The heat level is high and there are a lot of sex scenes with some D/S vibes (not with the FC) as well as a fair amount of MM action.

I will say straight up that I have tried this author before and wasn’t overly impressed but thought I would give her another try as she is writing with someone else. Unfortunately I really didn’t enjoy this story. It seemed to be more an excuse for multiple sex scenes than any real story and lacked depth. Personally I prefer some romance with my romance and story with my story but this was one of those books that was more about the sex scenes than anything else. Each to their own. As a result I found the characters lacked depth and there was minimal backstory. The authors ticked some boxes with trying to create some angst to what little backstories there were but this just felt superficial and unoriginal. There’s a big climax which is supposed to be some kind of “shock reveal” but it felt more like some OTT B movie with the authors trying to inject some excitement into the story. Honestly, all the villain needed was a moustache to twirl!

So, if you are only really interested in hot sex scenes then go for it but if you want depth and a real story, not so much.

Everything in this story was fantastic- the storyline, the dynamic between all of our characters, the chemistry they all had. Start to finish, this story had me hooked and I just couldn't put it down.

What I loved this most was this was certainly a unique and fresh take on the whole Alpha/Omega/Beta relationship and scent matches. Willow has been sheltered since she presented as an omega, as a way for her parents to protect her from other Alphas who may take advantage and to give her a chance to find a pack on her own- or so she thinks. When she turns 21, she gets the chance to go to Calling Wood to do just that, except not in the way her parents want. She wants a pack to help her through her heats but isn't necessarily looking to settle down right away. What she never expects is to find a pack that accepts her for what she wants. Unfortunately, she wasn't counting on Nash and Ledger, two Alphas who are beyond delicious and hot and one of them doesn't necessarily conform to the standard role of an Alpha in all aspects of his life, and Aubrey, their beta who at times certainly has the fire and the spunk of an Alpha herself.

Despite the fact that Willow may have found her forever pack, there are still two men out there who have known they were her scent matches since she turned 18- her father's friends Dante and Chandler. Despite the fact that they both know that any sort of relationship with her would be wrong on so many levels, what will happen when they end up running into Willow and all of their attempts to keep this secret are put to the test? Throw in the danger that the females find themselves in and you have one story with so many twists and turns that you have to keep reading to keep up.

This was such a great read- one that is extremely detailed and something new and fresh to the world of omega verse stories that are out there. This is certainly one that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

There is something about these two authors, both separately and together, that have me hooked. Williams and Lein have written another outstanding book together, and it's left me wanting more from this group.

Wild Child is a standalone OV novel filled with surprising twists, character building/growth, yummy spicy times, and plenty of drama that just keeps you hooked.

Willow is an FMC that I absolutely adore. She is strong, knows what she wants, and isn't planning on letting anyone get in her way or change her mind. She's been sheltered by one of her dads since she presented as an omega at 18, and now she wants to live her life for her, and I applaud her for doing just that.

The Monroe Pack. I loved the dynamics of Nash, Ledger and Aubrey, and I loved their emphasis on no one in their pack being left behind after some past issues. The initial meeting between Nash and Willow had me laughing, and then watching his pack fall for her? I loved it. The dynamic between Nash and Ledger was amazing - and not something I'd read before - and I feel Willow definitely slipped into her place with them seamlessly.

Dane and Chandler - man, these two had some grovelling to do, but I'm glad they got things sorted out, because they really do complete not only Willow, but Pack Monroe, too. They were also dealt a pretty rubbish hand through it all, but was so glad to see that the happily ever after comes for everyone.

And the twist? Holy smokes, I did not see that coming, but it was executed so well! I'm normally one to pick up the twists in a novel but Williams and Lein blindsided me with this one, and I was all for it.

Filled with MM, FF, MMFMM, age gap, OV, cam-girl, dad's best friends yumminess, this book really satisfied, and I would definitely love to read more of this misfit group in the future.

As can be clearly seen from my previous reviews, I absolutely love the Calling Wood omegaverse world. I was a little concerned that another author was joining writing in this world as We are Worthy, We are Destiny and Knot going anywhere are books close to my heart. There was no reason for concern as Cassie's writing only added to the enjoyment of this book. Alisha and Cassie clearly write so well together as I could not decipher who would have written which part, usually a pet peeve of mine in co-writes, and reading it still felt like an authentic pact meeting within this world.

I loved Willow and this book is so well titled. Her yearning to forge her own path not centred simply around her pack felt refreshing for an omegaverse book. I also really enjoyed the development of the two distinct relationship circles and watching how they learned to grow together. The love that all of them have for each other, and Willow, whether it be romantic or platonic was a joy to read. I particularly enjoyed the bar scene, it was light-hearted but so intimately written I felt like I was also sat at the table with them.

Let's be honest, we all love an older Alpha and I couldn't help but root for Dane and Chandler. But I would be a liar if I said I wasn't equally rooting for our little misfit trio of Nash, Ledger and Aubrey. Willow did so well at bringing these two packs together, pushing back where realistically necessary without being over the top "strong woman".

The twist I did not see coming but was waiting for as I know Alisha and Cassie can't simply let us have a nice easy HEA. It had my heart racing but ultimately was a great read and left me with a satisfied ending.

The scenes, especially the live show IYKYK were stunningly hot and were enough to keep me satisfied without being just pure spice.

Overall, another fantastic 5 star read from this duo.

One of a kind!

I read a lot of OV… and I mean A LOT! You would be hard pressed to find a book or series I haven’t read. This book right here… it’s so unique! The storyline is relatively run of the mill. Overbearing parent suffocates the sweet omega. She escapes to college to live her own life. She dates a pack and oh crap!! She finds her scent matches! Some angst with the parents, but at the end of the day HEA. However this story has a few twists! The sweet omega didn’t intend to find a forever pack, she wanted to experience life and travel, get to know who she is. But at first meeting she falls for two alphas and a beta… a sexy little beta woman! There’s rarely a female beta and female omega pairing!! I’ve actually never seen it. And I’m here for it! I’m not a fan of FF but the beta in the story makes you just fall in love with her! And h, I also mentioned her scent matched? Yep two silver foxes!! But they are two of her dad’s best friends!! Yeah when I read that chapter my jaw dropped!! I mean I guess it could happen, I don’t have any experience in crushing on my parents friends, ew. lol But these tow mini packs blend so well. Gah almost forgot to mention there’s a nefarious plot that Willows dad is involved in and the girls get dragged along! But as you know their four intelligent and hot alphas are kicking in doors, literally, to save the day! I love this story is an extension of another series by Alisha Williams. I’ve never read anything by Cassie Lein but this story was so well written I’m going to have to follow her for all her works! Happy Reading Friends!
