Don’t sweat the small stuff. OBSESS over the small stuff.Anthony Melchiorri started his hospitality career working as at the Embassy Suites in Overland Park, Kansas, and worked his way up to becoming one of the most successful general managers in New York City. During the process, he discovered the five steps that allowed him to show up for himself and for the hotels and owners in which he served. Then, in 2012, he landed a deal with the Travel Channel that saw him host nine seasons of Hotel Impossible. He used these five steps to help other hoteliers turn around their establishments.
Melchiorri’s sometimes humorous, sometimes serious stories highlight how these five steps can work for people from all walks of life, whether those people are future hospitality experts or digital nomads. The stories are packed with takeaways and insights and give a glimpse into the unwavering mindset of the man behind the suit and tie.

If you loved Hotel Impossible and Anthony Melchiorri's take charge ways, you will love this book! I read it in two days, would have read it in one day but I had to get some sleep and go to work. Anthony tells stories from his career to show how he became who he is today. How he became to be the face of the hotel industry is fascinating. His personality shines through the book.
I just wish he would do a few more seasons of Hotel Impossible! I really miss him and that show!
As usual, Anthony inspires and teaches in a simple, relatable and straightforward manner. Never too "heady" or abstract but extremely profound and useful. Can't recommend the book enough.
SHOW UP is a nice easy read. Once I started reading it, I could stop. It a fantastic guide for somebody looking for inspiration and wanting to improve themselves both personally and professionally.
This is a quote I love from this book.
"No one refuses to show up for themselves because of other people, they refuse to show up for themselves because they don't have the tools to do it."
I’ve enjoyed Anthony on TV and even taken his online class, so I was excited about his book. There are some good, solid ideas in here but I found some of them I didn’t quite agree with (which is understandable as not every self-help idea applies to everyone). I also found it to be much shorter than it perhaps could have been. As I read on, I found myself wishing for more examples, more detail, just more. Anthony sets a great example and his voice comes through in the book but it all goes by pretty fast. I’m glad I read it, but not sure there’s enough for me to read it a second time.
