Welcome to the guesthouse on the Green, where Mammy and her girls will make you feel part of the family. Settle in and enjoy your stay at O'Mara's, where stories abound, romance lurks and laughter sounds.
If you've ever fancied visiting Santorini in the Greek Islands, now is your chance because Patrick O'Mara is about to wed Cindy. She might be the woman of Patrick's dreams, but the wedding destination is not the stuff of Mammy O'Mara's dreams. What's wrong with a church wedding in Ireland? She can't be doing with all this barefoot on the beach nonsense. Still and all, it's an excuse for a family holiday, and she is all about family. You're family too, so what are you waiting for? Pack your bags. We've got a wedding to go to!
Michelle Vernal is a bestselling author of warm, witty, and uplifting Irish fiction. Born in England to parents from Liverpool – often called “Little Ireland” – she grew up on her mum’s tales of Iocal families, music, and humour. Later, she lived, worked, got engaged, and travelled extensively in Ireland, experiences that inspire her much-loved novels, including the hilarious Guesthouse on the Green series. Her stories, filled with heart, humour, and unforgettable characters, have earned her a loyal readership worldwide.
If you are a fan of Marian Keyes Walsh Sisters you will love the O’Mara Family! Normally, with any series, 3-4 books is my limit but, I am fully committed to this series! Each story involves guest of the Inn, or in these case the owners of where the family stayed and one of the family members. This story was Patrick’s wedding to his longtime American girlfriend Cindy. Maureen and her daughters, their husbands and kids make for an enjoyable, easy, fun summer read!
While I have enjoyed reading this series, I find it hard to believe that the author obviously forgot the name of Aisling’s twin boy (it’s now Connor, not Kieran Finley as he was named in the previous 2 books).
Similarly, the author originally had Nina from a small village in Spain, then she was from Madrid, and then she was from Toledo.
The O’Mara Family visiting Greece for Patrick & Cindy’s wedding is a delight! I love reading anything in Irish fiction and would love to be a part of the O’Mara Clan! Always hilarious, romantic and full of happiness; start at the first book and you’ll love them all!
Another enjoyable romp with one of my favourite Irish families. Patrick and Cindy are getting married…..on the beach…barefoot…..on Santorini……by a celebrant not a priest. Mammy is shocked, but determined to support her baby boy. The whole family travels over for the wedding and a week's holiday in the sun.
Another laugh out loud venture with the O’Mara family. This wedding and all the interactions with the brides family and the owners of the pensions where they stay in Santorini are such fun. With a happy ending for everyone Once again it’s a joy to read these books of yours Michelle Vernal
I have just finished reading the O.Mates go Greek. Thank you Michelle for another brilliant funny and sunny book.As usual I came to the end of it to soon. I can't wait for the next instalment😀😀.
What can I say, another stonking good read. I'm sure these books just get better. If you sleep with a partner, don't read this in bed. My husband thinks I've lost it. I was really laughing out loud in bed reading. Thanks Michelle can't wait for the next.
What a lovely story about the O'Mara family. This book just like all the others in the series is a laugh out loud read. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Such an enjoyable read! I love following this zany family's escapades. One thing that knocked it down a peg for me were the several misused words, for instance the repeated use of the word phased instead of fazed.
Another brilliant book in the O’Mara series. A lovely story of the family travelling to Greece for a family wedding and the events that happen to them and the amazing people they encountered. Having been to Santorini I can appreciate the scenery mentioned.
Love the way the O’Maras women make comments about everything about them and surrounding them. Taking the piss is one of their favourite past times, it makes me laugh out loud.
The latest book of the O’Maras “Guesthouse in the Green” and as usual doesn’t disappoint! They are all hilarious, the whole family! Do yourselves a favour and read this set of books! Irish humour is the best! I do hope that the books carry on I need more!!
There were some funny bits but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the earlier books, I don’t know if it was because it was set outside Dublin that that made it different.
Another O’Maras lovely read. A nice, funny heartwarming book. I really enjoy these books. It’s nice to read something warm and funny when life is a bit serious.
