Another wonderful read from Ms Logan. I love Pope and Felix together. At work they have each other's back, and at home they burn the sheets. Life has somewhat settled for Pope Dades since he started working at DHS agency. He has a decent team, a boss who will stand up for him and a partner he can trust. Not only that, his work partner is someone he can easily fall in love with. He is scared witless because of it. But it seems inevitable - how can Pope resist Felix's beautiful body, sunny personality and sharp mind?
Felix Jbarra has it good. A new partner is great, his rapport with his team is excellent, and coming back home has never been sweeter. But one dark cloud is hanging over his head - he still can't tell his religious family that he is falling in love with a man. And not just any man but his work partner Pope Dades. But the more he thinks on it, the more he sees that he can't imagine his life without Pope in it. Pope is everything he has ever wanted in a partner. And soon he will have to come out and let the chips fall where they may.
I love them together. They are passionate, at times sweet and so well-matched in and out of bed. They just click. They know when to push and when to let go. It takes jealousy over ex-lover to make Pope and Felix finally confess that what they feel for each other is more than simple crush. Jealous Pope was a sight to behold, and Felix just knew how to calm the man - it was gloriously hot!!!
The case brings all the letter agencies together. We see ATF guys, LAPD detectives, FBI and DHS agents make a blunder one after another. There were so many moments that made me chuckle. The dynamics between them is fun but when it comes to serious business, they make work look like a walk in the park. Lead after lead turns up a dead end, everybody is at their wits end but trusty informants, namely Francel Tomas who is a curious character I wouldn't mind to read a story about, and diligent work turn up the culprit's name. It was definitely a surprise as was the subsequent chase to catch them. I loved how agents worked together, how both Felix and Pope saw Thayne and Jarrett and Mac and Nico together unafraid of censure, how they saw that being seen like this will not be as bad as they might have thought was absolutely wonderful. It was fast-paced, steamy, thrilling and at times humorous story. I loved it and highly recommend it!

This is the second book in The Thin Blue Line Series. A sensational book the writing was great. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters engrossing. The characters were well developed and thought out. Felix Jbarra and Pope Dades are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, friends and family, bad guys, police, FBI, ATF, bombs and explosions, homeless and so much more in this book.
Here is a quote from the book, “…So, we have this guy masquerading as the manager who I am guessing we can ID as our prime suspect,” Pope said. “Yeah,” Felix said. “And I’ll bet Mancuso is an alias.” “I’d take that bet, “ Snow said. …”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can highly recommend as a good read. And I can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
This is book 2 in this spin-off series, please read book 1 first. This is another action-packed installment from Ms. Logan and I was not in the least disappointed. It has it all, action, romance, intrigue, great friends you'll recognize from the Death & Destruction series. Pope and Felix make me happy and make me smile. The opening with Faleena of the teeth brighter than a thousand suns just had me LOL'ing. The story of Pope and Felix moves along quickly, but Ms. Logan doesn't forget to include the details and little things that keep us readers waiting to see what will happen. The climax of the story, and epilogue were epic (I could picture watching news coverage on CNN). The added prologue for book 3 pushed it well over the 5-star mark for me. (Squirrels! LOL!) I'm excited to see what book 3 brings.
Main Characters: Pope & Felix I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 5 out of 5 stars Patricia Logan does it again. Fantastic book with lots of action, mystery, suspense, humor and great sex. I can't even imagine all the work she must go through to come up with these fantastic stories. The amount of detail and research she puts into each book is amazing. Makes me wonder how she manages to come up with all the different plots. Guess that is why I will never be an author/writer. I absolutely love the banter between all the characters in this book and I laughed so hard at one of scenes with Felix & Pope I ended with a coughing jag. If you get the chance you should definitely read this new series. This is book 2 of a m/m contemporary romantic suspense series.
Oh man, this series just gets better. I really love Felix and Pope. They have such great chemistry and are super hot and sexy. I loved every minute of the story and just wanted to read it in one go (work wouldn’t allow that). I love that there is a mystery to solve and I like that there is a secondary mystery running from the first to this book and promises to be in the third. I love these kind of stories, where their romance builds and takes so much to tell. I can’t wait to read book three and hope there are more. I also love that characters from previous series pop up. It was a very fast-paced story while being a detailed, rich read. I absolutely recommend this book and series.
I'm absolutely loving Pope and Felix together...This is book 2 in the series and like Death and Destruction it just gets better and better....Pope and Felix work perfectly together to help stop someone who's making fake documents and bombs...We get more of Jarrett and Thayne along with Cassidy and Mike and Snow and Mac....Ms Logan knows how to keep you hooked and wanting more.....Pope is still not used to trusting people and who can blame him and he's trying hard to rust Felix....Am looking forward to book three and reading these is making me want to re-read Thayne and Jarretts books x
I was so anxious to read this book, and it did not disappoint. I love the slow burn romance between Felix and Pope. These two are made for one another. And there’s nothing better than a good mystery to make things more interesting. I’m going to have to go back and read the stories of the side characters since they play such a big role in the books. Highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Pope is a strong caring man but so afraid to fall in love because he sees himself as a broken, too old man to be with Felix. Pope has injuries he sustained after being almost beaten to death by his LAPD partner and 2 others. Betrayed by his partner and his captain he leaves for the FBI and Felix. Felix is 7 years younger than Pope but mature, loving, and patient waiting for Pope to love him as he loves Pope. Of course there’s mystery, action and adventure! Great story!
Love it! I always look forward to Patricia Logan's books, and she didn't disappoint with this one. Felix and Pope are great together and was ecstatic to see Jarrett and Thayne and the rest of the guys from Death and Destruction. I'm really looking forward to reading when Felix comes out to his family. The book was intense, sexy, sweet, and sex scenes were hot. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
very good series.. it had mystery and fun.. it had love and laughter.. it was all around a good story with lots of interesting people and storylines. very good
Oh my goodness gracious…this one literally had me at the edge of my seat most of the time!
Felix Jbarra and Pope Dades are now three months in as partners for Homeland Security. Pope can now breathe a bit easier since he left the homophobic LAPD’s Hollywood Precinct where his former partner and some others had kidnapped and beaten him severely for being gay. He was learning to trust a partner again, both on the job and in the bedroom and Felix was the right one to trust. When they, and the other federal alphabet agencies, get wind of a new dark web site that are passing high quality fake passports and green cards, they know that they have to get this shut down fast. When, on their first lead, the men, along with the FBI’s agents Lincoln Snow and Mac McCallahan, they are almost blown to bits by a cyberterrorist, they know things are even more dangerous. The Claymore bomb was no laughing matter and they were all lucky to be alive. When things start heating up on the case the men rely on each other more, something Pope is starting to grasp on to, but when he realizes that he is learning to trust Felix with more than just his life at work to rattles Pope. How can Felix, who is still deep in the closet to his friends and family, convince Pope that they are a good match and he should listen to his heart too?
I love how this book has moved us forward in Pope and Felix’s rocky relationship. Felix has endeared himself to me because he knows that he has to move slowly and tread lightly with Pope. Pope has opened up about some of the things that have made him the way he is but Felix knows there is more. He can’t believe that Pope doesn’t realize what a catch he is. Pope doesn’t understand what the gorgeous young man see in him. He’s seven years older, which is a sizable difference at their ages, and his broken and aching body should turn him off but Felix keeps wanting more. I loved how patient and understanding Felix is. He is wise beyond his age.
Let me assure you, Patty hasn’t given up on her attempts to harm and maim her men. She keeps me at the edge of my wits as I race to the next page constantly to make sure that everyone is okay and unharmed. When she had Jarrett and Thayne come back (I’m sure everyone heard my squeal across the lands!) I was sure she was going to do something awful to them. I was as worried about Jarrett’s safety as Thayne was! It was great to see all the great people back from the Death and Destruction Series. I had missed them all. I fell for all those couples.
I think that I liked this book even better than the first one in the series. The first one was more of a “get to know you” whereas this book starts to get to the core of who Felix and Pope are. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to watch their relationship to blossom and grow as Pope learns to trust his heart to Felix and Felix becomes brave enough to share his sexuality with his family and friends. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for more! An exciting and fast paced thriller that I highly recommend!

I liked this book. I did not love this book. After the first book in The Thin Blue Line series, I was really excited for the release of Order and Anarchy. Unfortunately, it did not live up to its predecessor.
I found the typical Logan action/mystery/suspense plotline sorely lacking. I felt like it was a weak plot that was drawn out much longer than necessary. It wrapped up very neatly at the end without much satisfaction. I actually felt like the storyline was closer to filler material in a romance novel; which I suppose you could argue that this book IS a romance novel.
Although I enjoy sexy times, this book is full of them. They were hot, but I actually missed the action from the plot a bit too much. It seemed that the main focus of Order and Anarchy is Pope and Felix's relationship. I did find it tiring how pathetic Ms. Logan chose to portray Pope through most of the story. Some angst is great in a story/series, but I felt that it was a little overdone this time. We all know that Pope has his issues from the first book, but he was made out to be a whiney weakling. I also found a lot of the sentiments on both sides being repeated, sometimes more than once, which is unusual. I hope Pope regains his self-respect in the next book. I like them together, but it was kind of irritating watching this time around.
As with the first book, it was great seeing the others from previous series'. A lot of the plot revolved around the combining of all of the alphabet agencies and introducing new (old) characters. We also hear from the bad guy and learn a bit more about what the motivation, or part of it, is going to be in the future. It seems that there might be someone from the past coming to play.
I'm sure you are wondering why I decided to round up to the four stars. The writing was excellent as usual (editing, wordflow, etc.), it made me laugh several times, and even brought a tear to my eye. Logan has a way of making sure that you end up liking, if not loving her characters. So although I was disappointed with many things throughout this book, I didn't say that I didn't finish it in one sitting! It kept my attention, and there was plenty of good to outweigh the bad. It's definitely worth the read; especially if you plan to continue with The Thin Blue Line series.
Hugs&kisses
Ahhhhh, Felix and Pope, you can't help but love these guys. These big, strong, confident men falling for each other is so much fun to watch. They do have their moments where you want to reach out and smack one of them, but they find their way around the issues and don't let petty things hang around too long. Reading this series is like watching a television crime show but with more romance and a lot more fun. The banter that goes on between the different teams had me laughing so hard at some points and then someone would turn around and do or say something that made me sigh and actually "awwww" out loud. I love the way this author writes because the balance of action versus romance seems realistic and not forced which can sometimes happen in other books I've read. The author gives us just enough of a mystery that the pages just keep turning even if the clock seems to be taunting us from the table haha. This story ends with a HFN and just enough open story lines that we know the next book in the series is going to be great. I can't wait to see what's next for Felix and Pope. In the meantime I think I will read her other series because those characters show up in this book and now I MUST read their stories because they were just too much fun!
I am loving this series! This was a great read. There is plenty of action, humor, suspense and sexy times! I love Felix & Pope together. They have the greatest banter. The problem with such a great book is that you are left wanting more! I can't wait for the next installment in this series!
I have not read any of the other books with the other characters, but this series. These guys are all pretty amazing. My only complaint is some of the long repetitive descriptions of what is happening.
Loved the second installment to this series. I love the way Pope and Felix relationship is developing. Also can't wait for families to meet and to see Felix's relationship with his family now that his come out. And love the secondary character and the banter and chemistry they have.
The second book is just as good if not better than the first. Pope and Felix are still getting to know each other and the action is happening both in and out of the bedroom. Can't wait to see what happens next
