The second edition focuses on the media and entertainment sector (M&E), with more information relevant to encompass broadcasters migration to file-based production. New technology and new products are also included and there is more detail on systems integration and product examples, plus extra case studies.
New content
- Storage management where several products have been designed for the special needs of the media business.
Reading this as a supplemental textbook for a Digital Asset Management course. The book has some good framework information, but is very specific to audio and video content. It is also very dated and needs to be updated.
I got some good fundamental information from this book, yet the amount I learned was not worth reading the whole book to attain.
This wasn't strictly about Digital asset management and was more about asset management in broadcasting. As other reviews noted the book is very dated and I found it irrelevant to the course I was reading it for.
