Under an Invisible Shadow

An epistolarly post-apocalyptic road story detailing the dying-off of the zombie hordes and the rise of a new threat - though most of humanity can't see it at all. The story's also currently available in two print anthologies - Dead But Dreaming: New Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos from Miskatonic River Press and The Undead 3: Flesh Feast from Permuted Press. Bain is expanding this tale into a novel.

Under an Invisible Shadow is a zombie apocalypse story with a supernatural/science fiction twist.

From the perspective of a survivor, you witness as the dead being to die around the world. Most consider it a victory except for those few that can see the zombie souls escaping the corpses and flowing north through the air.

A band of survivors, lead by our narrator, and his soul mate Janie(one of the few that can see the souls) set off following the souls to their final resting place.

What they find at their destination is beyond description and the fate of the world is still undecided.

David Bain has created an intriguing short story that is taking the zombie genre to a place I don't think it has been before.

Extremely short, but interesting premise. If a full length novel is released based on this premise, I would buy and read it.
