I chose this book expecting an in-depth, sensible look at human emotions. I was expecting it to be rooted in psychology or even simple strategies for handling emotions. That’s not what this book delivers in the slightest. Instead, it’s almost entirely Bible verses with little to no original commentary or useful facts beyond what’s already in Scripture.
I respect the Christian faith and the value Scripture can bring to people, but the book is just outright misleading. The cover and description make it seem like a guide to understanding emotions in a much broader way. If you’re looking for a reflection on emotions through faith and the Bible, this will be great. But if you are looking for a deeper exploration of human feelings and emotions as I was you will be dissapointed, just as I was.
