First Edition / First printing/ HARDCOVER, tightly bound, clean and unmarked pages. NO ugly remainder mark. Not a library book. No Dust Jacket, textured pictoral cover as issued. Book is Mint Condition.
This book is probably no longer in print, and that is a real shame.
This is the VERY FIRST book I ever read at preschool story time, back in 1982. In verse, very easy to get caught up in the rhythm.
Hamilton's born on the farm in the spring "Hamilton's mother said, 'Hamilton's born.' His very first OINK. His very first squeal. Was saying that Hamilton wanted a meal. He wanted some sustenance, wanted some chow. He wanted some food and he wanted it NOW."
The other young animals all make fun of him because he is so BIG, but they sure loved him after the Wolf came out of his cave...……
A fun story about a cute fat pig that turns the tables on a mean nasty wolf who tries to eat him. My kids and I love this story. Besides the pictures of our hero being adorable, it's fun to see Hamilton be the hero after everyone makes fun of him. A great story for kids of all ages.
One of my favorite books as a child, if not my favorite. I read it aloud to my college speech class and even had them chanting, "A pig is just downright supposed to be big!"
