Diary of Murder
Dana Logan & Sarah Cafferty are vacationing in their motorhome in Colorado when Dana learns of her sister's death. The mystery writer's husband says it's suicide but Dana knows her sister would never take her own life. When they arrive in Wyoming, they discover more than Georgi's diary which tells of her harrowing life in her mansion. Placing their own lives in danger and that of Dana's journalist daughter Kerrie, they seek out the killer and stumble over more bodies as well as a vicious drug ring.

"Diary of Murder" is my first exposure to Author Jean Henry Mead. While reading this fictional novel, the old televison show 'Murder She Wrote' kept coming to mind, as well as my favorite mystery novels from my youth, 'The Nancy Drew Series'.
Friends and amateur sleuths, Dana Logan and Sarah Cafferty, are driving in a winter storm to attend the funeral services of Dana's sister, Georgi Turnsby. Dana has been told that her sister committed suicide but Dana refuses to believe Georgi would resort to such an incomprehensible act of desperation. In order to solve this mystery, she immediately zeroes in on Georgi's husband, Rob. In her opinion, he is the prime murder suspect as she begins her search to better understand the last few months of her sister's life and the events that led up to her death. In the process, several lives are put at risk as she investigates the odd events taking place in the town where Georgi and Rob have taken up residence.
The plot has numerous and unexpected twists and turns...many of which do not seem plausible. However, despite this fact, it is still quite easy to get drawn into the escapades of these two daring and somewhat fearless amateur investigators. If you enjoy a good, clean mystery novel, then "Diary of Murder" will certainly fit the bill.

The cover of this novel grabbed my attention right from the start. And, I must say, I was not disappointed with this intriguing mystery.
At the very beginning of the novel, Dana is driving the motorhome as it swerves on the ice packed highway. She complains, "There's nothing worse than a Rocky Mountain Blizzard." I could see myself sitting in the driver's seat because this very thing happened to me when my family and I took a trip through the Rocky Mountains on a warm, spring day in May, when no blizzards were expected. I was driving our motorhome and was lucky or very blessed that I didn't wind up sliding off the highway and crashing down the mountainside. God was certainly with my family and I that fateful day. I commend the author on creating the fearsome scene right at the beginning of her excellent novel.
The author has skillfully created a mystery within a mystery that keeps the readers guessing and turning the pages to see what happens next. The dialogue and description is written with perfection.
Diary of Murder is packed with adventure and action. I believe everyone will enjoy reading this well-written, page-turning novel.

Dana Logan and Sarah Cafferty are two of mystery's most unlikely investigators. Both in their middle years, they share a home and an appetite for crime detection. When they get word that Dana's sister, Georgi, has died unexpectedly, they travel from California to Wyoming in their RV.
Immediately upon arrival, Dana is struck by inconsistencies in the story surrounding her sister's death. The pair decide to investigate. This resolve is strengthened when Sarah falls ill at dinner, from what appears to be a near fatal allergy. Could it be something more?
Spurred by this incident, Dana contacts the state authorities when she discovers that the county sheriff is her late sister's brother-in-law.
While going through Georgi's things, Dana discovers her sister's diary. This proves to be an invaluable tool, leading them to other clues.

Well, I really enjoyed this book after I got into it. I had expected the same style of writing from "A Village Shattered" which employed humor as well as drama. This book left out the humor but it was understandable due to the seriousness of the beginning crime to the sleuth, her sister.
I do hope Ms. Mead continues to write and throws the humor back in her next book. I would love to meet up with Logan and Cafferty again.

Not enough content for me. Very little character development. Story line was too weak for me. Characters just showed up and nothing further was mentioned of them.

Diary of a Murder by Jean Henry Mead is a must-read if you like action and thrills.
Dana Logan’s sister, Georgi, is dead and no one wants to believe she was murdered. Dana and her friend, Sarah Cafferty, investigate and find danger around every corner. Georgi’s husband and housekeeper appear to be in a hurry to dispose of the deceased and all of her possessions. Dana finds her sister’s diary and reads it while traveling a dark and dangerous road to discoveries and a murderer.
When Sarah becomes ill, apparently poisoned, she’s hospitalized and Dana is on her own. An agent tries to help, but… Read the book, I don’t want to give the story away. Trust me when I say this story will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is another wonderful chapter in the lives of Logan and Cafferty. You won’t want to miss all the adventure. Ms. Mead has done it again, and I highly recommend this story.

Imagine going to see your sister for her funeral. She's young her death is VERY unexpected. You take a dear friend with you. Once there, you see things are off.
This is a novel way of telling a story about love and greed and wonder. Do you like books that keep you wondering? Do you like books that, when you get to the last page, you laugh because of how it ends? That's what this book is.
Pick up a copy and start having some mysterious fun! It's part of a series. So, once done with this book, pick up the next ("Murder on the Interstate").

The action in this mystery novel is nonstop. There are many twists and turns in the plot and I confess to reading quickly to find out what would happen next. This is as much of a fast-paced thriller as a mystery novel. It starts in a Rocky Mountain blizzard in Wyoming. Dana Logan is on her way to discover who murdered her sister Georgi. Her sister was a wealthy woman married to a younger man. Dana and her friend Sarah begin an investigation which leads them in unexpected directions.

A fun light read. Two amateur sleuths, Dana and Sarah investigate the murder of Dana's sister, Georgi a mystery writer. Her handsome younger husband looks good for the crime. He has many girlfriends and bad money habits. And his entire family hold key law enforcement positions. This crime novel is more about how and why than who, as our 60 + Miss Marples have to solve the crime themselves.

Maybe it's me but I got really tired of the words rv park and motorhome. I just wanted to scream all right already we KNOW where she lives!!!! Aside from that. Not great but not bad and hey. Not complaining. It was free kindle so it was ok!!

These two senior sleuths come to an immediate conclusion of who the villain is and set out to prove it. It's a wonder they weren't among the dead bodies that kept turning up as many of their actions seemed foolhardy rather than courageous.

Book was good, though even though we know what happened I don't feel like the story tied up the loose ends. I guess it was implied.
