Although not the easiest read, this book describes the neurochemical processes that lead to various behavioral addictions, like gambling addiction, kleptomania, and cutting. Based on this book, the author went on to cure alcoholism via "The Sinclair Method," which is still a foundational technique in socialized medical institutions.
