Developmental Science: An Introductory Approach

Rate this book
Developmental An Introductory Approach is excellent choice for college courses which emphasize human development across the lifespan. The focus of the textbook grew out of the authors' experience in teaching an undergraduate developmental psychology class. The students in the course were primarily second-year students from a variety of majors such as psychology, pre-law, education, pre-med, and majors with an emphasis in physical and occupational therapy. The current developmental psychology textbooks provide a broad-based coverage designed to appeal to education majors and some extent psychology majors; and in many of the texts, there is an overabundance of information on education and educational issues. The result of this approach is a 700-page text, with 15 or more chapters, which are difficult to cover in a 15-week semester. Therefore, we desire to provide a concise lifespan textbook that can be used in conjunction with other readings that covers issues in psychology, law, medicine, and social policy. New to this
