As someone who has been gardening for a few years now, I thought this book was incredibly helpful to revise my garden and plant with intention. Brian gives plenty of examples to help make gardens thrive, and he encourages the importance of biodiversity. This book was both educational and enjoyable.
Abundance!! I loved this book. Such a great, informative guide on how to create a garden that sustains not only yourself and community but also the earth. I can’t wait to use some of the methods discussed in my own garden next year! 5/5 stars
I am a beginning gardener in zone 10b, and this book has taught me so much. I was prepared for a dry “how-to” book” about how to grow my vegetables abundantly, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much of the “abundance” in your gardening is about finding abundance in your spirit.
The sections are short and easily digestible, and there is a reference in the back so that you can refer back to terms you aren’t familiar with in other chapters, which was helpful! Fertilizing organically was an interest point for me and I will have to read deeper on the mechanics but his own examples of fertilizer routines for transplanting were exactly what I needed to know before I move my starts outside next week.
I especially enjoyed the part where Brian goes into detail about his own gardening failures and how he was able to reuse some of them in the form of compost and that not all failed experiments are a complete waste. I love the mindset he presents when speaking about his garden and the love that is exchanged both ways.
But some of my favorite sections included his renderings of garden plans, I feel so inspired! I will try drawing my own garden plans even if I have already started for the season. It’s nice to see everything mapped out the way he does.
Highly recommend this book for any interested beginner gardener, it is an easy and delightful read and Brian absolutely sparkles with his charming passion for all things that grow (weeds too).
Great beginners guide to finding passion for your garden and where to start. I love the focus on finding your own abundance and the interesting concept of partnering different crops to keep bugs or other ailments at bay! I’m definitely a beginner so I will turn to this often. If you’re simply looking for a plants guide, this may not be your book, but wonderful for beginners who need a starting point and some motivation along the way
I love how Brigantti narrates this book and gives very personal recounts of his experiences. The stories help to ground the information and make me feel like I’m receiving advice from a close friend. I plan on referencing this book throughout the growing season ☺️
Great book for beginner gardeners. Experienced gardeners may appreciate the reflections on nature and consider some different styles of gardening. I will be recommending this as a guide for all my friends who want to get into gardening
Wow this was disappointing. If you are looking for a guide or how to on gardening, this isn’t it. This book spends a lot of time focusing on getting your mindset about abundance and gardening right without any like, substantive tips or tricks or ideas about gardening.
Thank you Austin for the great gardening resource!! I love all the practical advice and will keep it for a resource for always. This book speaks to the spiritual blessings of abundance in gardening but also in other aspects of life! Really enjoyed it!
