Thomas Manton (1620–1677) was an English Puritan Clergyman. He was a member of the Westminster Assembly that was responsible for drafting the Westminster Confession, a foundational document for Presbyterians. He advocated for the return of Charles II from exile and participated in the restoration of the English Monarchy. Despite this favor to the crown, Manton was forced from his preaching office during the Act of Uniformity of 1662 due to refusing to submit to the Book of Common Prayer.
His extant works fill 22 volumes. Here Manton exposits the Psalm of Psalms, 119 according to the Masoretic text's numbering. He writes for 190 sermons on this longest of Psalms, bringing out the beauty of the Reformed faith through Christ in the Law.
