Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name. See this thread for more information.

New York Times Bestselling author, Leslie Kelly writes sexy romances and dark romantic thrillers. A four-time RWA RITA Award nominee, eleven-time Romantic Times Award nominee and 2006 RT Award winner, Leslie has become known for her delightful characters, sparkling dialogue, and outrageous humor in her romances, and for the dark grittiness of her thrillers. Since the publication of her first book in 1999, Leslie has gone on to pen more than forty sassy, sexy romances for Harlequin Temptation, Blaze, and HQN.

In 2009, Leslie began tapping into her love for dark suspense by penning several books under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish. The Black CATs and Extrasensory Agents series quickly put Leslie on the must-read list of romantic-suspense fans.

Tired of writing under various names, Leslie decided to go into her next genre--futuristic thrillers with a suspense element--under her real name. She released her dark, gritty Veronica Sloan books, and reissued the Black CATs series, as Leslie A. Kelly.

Leslie lives in Denver with her husband Bruce--her real-life romance hero. Visit her online at lesliekelly.com (for her sexy romances) or at leslieAkelly.com (for her romantic suspense.)

Night Whispers by Leslie Kelly is a flirty, fun, hot read about Kelsey Logan and her brother’s best friend, Mitch Wymore. The two haven’t seen each other in years, but no one’s more surprised than Mitch to discover Kelsey has not only grown up into an absolutely stunning woman, she’s now the host of a super popular nighttime radio show, Lady Love. Kelsey’s never really outgrown her crush on Mitch, only now? It might be reciprocated…

Leslie Kelly’s story is a terrific take on the older brother’s best friend, opposites attract themes, and I appreciated how well they ultimately handled a conflict over their feelings about Kelsey’s work.

Can hardly believe this was Ms Kelly’s first Temptation!

Leslie Kelly is a good writer. I just finished a reread of Outlaw Hearts and loved it all over again. Sometimes when you finish reading a very good book there is almost a restlessness that comes over while you search for the next book. But Night Whispers had a very soothing effect on me and was a perfect book to read after.
I like the trope of this story, heroine has had life-long crush on hero but she was just the pesky little sister of his bed bud. Mitch had mostly lived with Kelsey’s family growing up due to his own lousy home life, but he always felt like he was standing on the outside looking in. so when Kelsey comes back into his life and things are combustible between them, he’s very reluctant to start anything, not wanting to upset the family who raised him. But things burn hot between him and Kelsey. He was kind of wild as a young man but he’s gotten a bit stuffy over the years and Kelsey unstuffs him. She drives him crazy with some of the things she does, she’s kind of a wild and crazy heroine, and he particularly hates her job, though he does admit she’s very good at being a late night, very seductive DJ.
He finds himself living on the wild side again and he finds he’s enjoying it and falling more and more for Kelsey all the time.
While I didn’t enjoy this quite to the level I did Bringing Down Sam and Reforming Jake, still, it was a very good treat when one was needed.

This story makes me believe in love. Kelly does a wonderful job of building tension and anticipation, not just in the characters, but the reader as well. I got so lost in this story of love. I felt like I was a part of it. Kelsey and Mitch were my friends. The growth of the characters was realistic and I felt like I really got to know them. I love Leslie Kelly's voice. It's a sensuous and emotional read that leaves you begging for more. With this story, it's like I was discovering this author again for the first time. Check it out!

Leslie Kelly's first published novel lives up to its name. It is steamy from the beginning, building a nice tension between Kelsey and Mitch. The author creates her story with more skill than novels that depend on jealousy, too innocent characters, and long drawn out misunderstandings.

I can truthfully say that I didn't feel that I knew enough about Kelsey and Mitch to determine whether or not I think they will live happily ever after. I like to see that kind of energy develop between a couple. But I do think they at least have a chance.

4.5 stars. Read a while ago so hope I don't miss any details for my review. Enjoyable. Really liked seeing their relationship change and their little bit of jealous revenge was funny. The only thing that got me was how quickly through the whole book she dismissed her stalker. That was kind of creepy and dumb. Overall, a good book.

The story was very predictable, but enjoyable and a quick read. Kelsey was Lady Love, a DJ on a radio station in Baltimore, on the Night Whispers show. Kelsey was staying at Mitch's brownstone while he was away in China for six months doing research for a text book he planned to write. Kelsey tormented Mitch much of his life. His parents and her parents were close friends and he lived with her family much of the time since his parents traveled so much. She knew she loved him for a very long time and set a plan of action to make him feel the same about her.

Leslie Kelly does a great "childhood friends to lovers" story. This was no exception and even with the long history and her teenaged crush it still took awhile for Kelsey and Mitch to become lovers so we got a really good look at the falling in love part. Kelsey is a DJ with a romance themed talk show. What she talked about on her show was some of the best parts of the story.
