How can you ever be sure how well you know someone . . .? Or if you know them at all . . .? Two years after the death of her husband, Michael, disturbing events begin to rock Jo's world. First Adam, Michael's friend and former partner, disappears, and then a web of deadly secrets begins to unfold. It seems that Adam has been involved in a murky world of big-time criminals who will stop at nothing to preserve their empire. Was Michael involved? Was his death connected in some way? Is he really dead?

This was a new author to me, so as always I was hoping for the best but you just never know. I don't pay a lot of attention to reviews unless there's a whole lot of them. Having just one or two reviews just means that one or two people didn't like it. But then again, they probably wouldn't like anything I read. So with that in mind .....
I was pleasantly surprised! As a mystery lover, it had just about everything I enjoy. Jo is a widow with a young daughter. She lost her husband in a car accident two years before and she's busy trying to go on with her life. And then strange things start happening. Her husband's boss and best friend disappears. Someone tries to kidnap her daughter. And who is that guy who seems to be following her? Amidst the swirling questions, she meets a man that she would like to know better, but is he who he says he is? And is her husband really dead?
I read this one in super fast time ... just did not want to put it down. Her characters are well drawn and the mysteries just keep coming and coming at a pace that may well leave you breathless.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one and will be looking at other books this author has written. I gave it 5 stars. Happy Reading!
