There are books and books and books on Irish History. I have a library full of books that will tell the tale of what side of the street is better to see the sun rise or the ranking of every pub in County Munster. I look for the something that I did not know or an author that writes from the heart and the head. I found both in this book. What grabbed me right away was the title, Irish History and the Irish question. Well what is the Irish question? That is what drew me in and why I found this to be very compelling. Now if you are a Native of Ireland you might not find this as interesting as it was to me. I am writing my Masters Thesis on the History of the Clans 200 BC to 1000 AD, specifically the McKenna and Kinston Clans. This book will be part of my source material. Thank you Goldwyn Smith!
