I was drawn to this Bible study workbook due to the premise, becoming an intentional woman and experiencing the power of God through my own story and history. Overall, it was an ok resource to help me look at different areas of my life that I may be lacking in and where my strengths lie, and how I can use those to glorify God in His continuing plan for my life as it unfolds. I prefer in depth Bible studies centered on God's Word. This book was more of an overview with Scripture peppered throughout it. It very much focused on the authors' own stories and included tidbits from other women who used the authors' strategies to live a more intentional and fulfilling life.
I'm not saying I didn't learn anything new from this study, I did take small things away from it like even when it seems like I don't have the power to make choices due to my life circumstances, I actually do. God has blessed me with wisdom, discernment, and intelligence to make decisions in my life. Sometimes I choose not to, because remaining "stuck" seems easier and less scary instead of taking responsibility in all areas of my life...even the hard places.
If you are looking for an in depth study focused on the God's Word, this is not it. I didn't even crack open my Bible during my reading time. (unless I was verifying a verse that was quoted. They tend to use The Message Bible for their Scripture, which is much different then the translations I normally use.) If you are looking for an overview or self help book that is somewhat faith based, then this might be for you.
Although the format is really "busy" with lots of diagrams and boxes on each page, this is an interesting Christian study/workbook for women who want to learn to be more intentional about things in life. Good food for thought.
