Super Short! Super Cute!
32 pages but it was so well-written. Written in the FMC's POV, it tells how she met her best friend, a wolf-man named Eli. This is not shifter territory, the description of Eli puts him somewhere in between looking like Teen Wolf and the transformed werewolf from The Howling.
Mating in this world means becoming fully mature and Jessa, our FMC is beside herself with sorrow because she believes that Eli will no longer be friends with her when he finds his mate, and she can't imagine being without Eli in her life, and its even worse, because she has secretly been in love with him for years.
A cute, sweet, and steamy monster romance, this is a recommended read!

It's a great appetizer if you're looking for something quick and easy to scarf down. A blend of sweet and spicy romance between a werewolf who doesn't shift and a regular-degular human woman. The only negative thing I have to say is that there wasn't much description or information about the characters. Specifically, the FMC. I get that it's a short story, with only 32 pages, but a slip of something descriptive would have helped me created the FMC's image.
Anyway, it's just a quick dive into the start of something new between two life-long friends. If you want to pick something up that just goes straight for the romance and bypasses/quickly solves any challenges or obstacles -this is your story! :)

Humans were vary of them as they are now.
Rn, Eli is now the time to find his mate. Jessa is devastated bcz she loves him for so long and is so jealous of this unknown soulmate. And is also scared to loose their friendship due to his mating. After years of one sided flirting, she “give up”. That night, crying in her sorrow, she hears light knocks on her window. Scared, she goes to Eli’s home for protection but is ambushed by fully shifted Eli. And they smooched.

I downloaded this novella recently during a SYKD, and the cover immediately caught my eye as I was looking for a quick read.
I particularly enjoyed the pacing of the story. We were given all the necessary backstory up front, rather than as a flashback later, which worked perfectly to introduce the dynamic between Jessa and Eli. I do want to know more about this world that is accepting of wolf people and other species, but I was given exactly what I needed to understand why both MCs thought things would never work between them, which only made me root for them more.

Quick easy read. Needed more smut though. If I'm reading short stories I need like 85%+ smut 15% story.
This seems like it could have been an intro into a world where inhumans and humans live together. Or it could have been built upon to make a longer book - it was missing either more smut or a longer story.
But it was enjoyable, I always like a chase scene. And it was a nice little break from the series I'm currently reading.

this book was literally 32 pages. why did i read this? idk.

Short monster romance story - good for being only 30ish pages or so. Kind of wish it was expanded a bit more because the idea of the wolf-humans (werewolf) always being at least partially in their wolf form was interesting and new

her best friend is a wolf man that is about to mate—apparently he can feel the urge coming and tells her about this. she has been in love with him since they were children. she’s really bummed about him mating someone else and having to see them together… but it obviously works out for her in the end.

I honestly wish this was a full book but I had a great time with the quick pace! The smut was great. I somehow liked their childhood connection and that's never the case for me. I believed in their love and their lust. lol
