For those of you who worry that the sequel will "just not be quite as good" you can leave your fears at the door!
Following the aftermath of solving her last big case, Laura has issues! Well, even more issues and, through her relationship with Celine, has found some really interesting ways of creating more issues!

Breaking Point sees Laura and her newly restructured team on the search for a missing boy. His father left him alone for 2 seconds, and as they say, that was all it took. Jamie is desperate to find his son, and, convinced the police are not doing enough, decides he will get to the bottom of this himself.

Dark, gritty, fast paced and highly emotional, this had me gripped from the start. One of the best things about this series is the complex characters. A lot of work has gone into understanding the various personality/behavioural disorders we see in some of the main characters throughout. Because of that we get exceptionally well written characters and well represented personality/behavioural disorders, ones which don't just follow the stereotype. The characters are exceptional, don't expect to like Laura, but I guarantee you will fully respect her, none the less.

Thank you so much to the author for my ARC.

Another great crime thriller from Jay!

This series is great and each book leaves me desperate for the next. The descriptions are so visceral and gritty; the characters are morally grey and you kind of love to hate them, even though they are a tad unhinged!

I don’t think I actually like Laura very much, she’s a bit of a b*tch 🙄🤣 but she gets the job done!

One of my favourite things about Jays books is that nothing is ever as it seems. This one had me guessing the whole way through, even right up to the last few chapters.

It highlights a terrifying reality that taking your eyes off your child for even a few seconds can have catastrophic consequences.

I really enjoyed this and I’m looking forward to seeing what is next in store for our love to loathe detective!

ARC Review

This is book 2 of the Laura Warburton series and another 5 star read! Jay has totally smashed it out of the park, again!

I find thrillers these days are so bland & samey! This was absolutely not the case! The details put into this book are insane! Some really brutal parts that made my skin crawl (but I love it!)

It's such a spine-tingling story that i will be thinking about it for days!

The storyline is staggering, and I had zero predictions, or to be honest, any idea of what the outcome was going to be (also rare these days with thrillers!)

I can't wait to carry on this series! If you haven't read the first book in the series, I highly recommend you add that to your July TBR in time for this one, which is out in August!

I received an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for my review, and let me just say I am sitting here clutching my pearls because I am shook! 🤯🤯🤯 This book is truly fast-paced and has non-stop action, right from the beginning, which is typical of this author's style. If you know, you know. If you don't, buckle up!

Because this is part of a series, I would recommend reading the first book for the backstory, but you don't need to have read it to understand book 2. The author gives you just enough for you to understand what's going on, so you don't necessarily have to read them in order.

This second book in the series was just as thrilling and heartbreaking as the first book. This author does a great job at handling all sorts of horrific crimes. Not only child kidnappings but some mob involvement push Laura to her breaking point. This book also brought out how lives of officers are so filled with horror that many have addiction problems, relationship problems and personnel problems. I felt as though Laura could have used help. She had so much trauma that dealing with new atrocities would only make things worse. I would like to read more about Laura and her team.

Looking for a great crime thriller look no further.
Not only does this second book in the Detective Warburton series have twists due to who is who and what is what when it comes to crime. It delves into the Detectives personal life and her struggles with mental health and alcoholism, who wouldn't be a little twisted after what she's been through. To find out more read book one Left for Dead.
I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review

Just when you thought Laura's story couldn't get darker. Actually, no. I never thought that. If you read Book 1, you'd know that was always going to be the case.

This story was so compelling and yet frightening and disturbing that you just couldn't not tear yourself away.

I don't know how Jay does it, but these are incredibly well written books and if they aren't signed for a TV adaptation at some point then the world is more fucked than we thought.

Breaking Point

Laura is so broken she can barely function. The twists, turns and connectivity between each of the characters, both old and new, in this tale are so intricate and enables the author to pull you in without effort. No splash, no ripples but pure emotion, suck you in and under without protest ……………….. recommend this series, it’s immense

WOW

I truly enjoyed the first book in this series, so reading the second was a no brainer. It starts with an altercation and a missing boy…. I was completely blindsided by what happened next. Laura is back in an action packed sequel. Be prepared to be shocked.

Jay has done it again with this fast-paced, hanging by the seat of your pants thriller!!! I was so invested in this book!!! As a parent, I could relate to Jamie and how he felt about his child going missing. The lengths that he goes are truly what a parent would probably do. Laura honestly irritated me for a majority of the book. The ending was pure perfection!!! Also, I'm not happy about one part of the ending, but you're gonna have to read it to find out.

This is definitely a must-read!! Make sure you have time because when you start, you won't wanna put it down!!!

This book left me clutching my pearls because I am shook! This picks up where volume 1 left off as our main character moves on to her next case. Fans of British thrillers will love this one because it is fast paced, highly immersive, dark and twisty.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Well jay!! You've done it again!
I could not put this book down I was hooked from the very first page!
Love your style of writing! Dark, fast paced and gripping.
Written in multiple POV

The very first chapter pulled at my heartstrings. Every parents' worse nightmare. How your life can be turned upside down in seconds.
Great character development and liked how the characters from the previous book are included within this one.
I really hope we finally see a happy ending for Laura in the next instalment my heart is in bits for the woman.

Can't wait for the next instalment of the last book in the series! Wondering if the story follows the mystery tall man in a suit. 🤔 Time will tell...

I want to thank the author again for allowing me to read the advanced reader copy
