A Collection of Five Dark Plays by J.T. Warren, author of HUDSON HOUSE and BLOOD MOUNTAIN.
On the battlefield, two soldiers discover that the most dangerous thing is not the enemy . . . A young boxer's need to fight, both in the ring and at home, threatens to destroy his life . . . A traumatized 9/11 survivor expresses his love for his family in a most horrible way . . . In an abandoned barn, two women seek revenge on the woman who took what was theirs . . . And in an office in a city high rise, love morphs from something sweet and passionate into something nasty and deadly . . . VIOLENT GLIMPSES is an excursion into the dark corners of the mind where real evil resides.
"These five plays comprise the length of a full work, which is good because you may need to take a break between them as they can get very disturbing. Violence is woven into our makeup and dealing with those dark urges is part of what it means to be human." --J.T. Warren
These plays were originally performed at SUNY Geneseo and have been updated for this publication. This edition also includes the bonus short story, "Devil Sent," a unique twist on the traditional make-a-deal-with-the-Devil tale.
Horror aficionado, lover of Halloween, author of the upcoming young adult horror novel, HUDSON HOUSE, available in print and ebook formats.
J.T. Warren was born on Halloween, a few months after his mother saw Jaws at the movies. His affinity for horror can be traced to an early age when he built a coffin out of cardboard and pretended to be a corpse, much to the concern of his parents. He can still be found in a coffin on Halloween when he gets into the spirit of the season. He is a public school teacher and has successfully lured thousands of students into literary waters through works of horror. He hopes his writing will further encourage young adults, and everyone older, to discover the wonder (and dread) found in the written word.
