A gunman on the loose in Ireland. Appearing and disappearing like a ghost, but far more deadly. He’s smart, clever, untraceable, uncatchable.

Or is he? DI Seamus Gallway and his heroic band are on the trail. Will they catch the gunman in time to prevent further mayhem? Will they be able to fathom out his true identity? Can they even find him, let alone stop him?

An escalating series of events puts the team under increasing pressure to succeed. Intertwining the case come interpersonal dramas, the return of the parrot, and the continued rise of DI Gallway’s new unit, the Foxcatchers. Will Seamus cope or will it become all too much?

This thrilling sequel takes over from where The Deathbed Confession ended. DI Seamus Gallway returns in the third gripping instalment of his fight against crime in the church. Gritty and once again liberally laced with a touch of romance, sex and humour, this highly entertaining tale features all your favourite characters in another great episode of their continuing story.

D.R. Bailey was raised in a family of bibliophiles. From an early age, he developed eclectic tastes in fiction including Sci-Fi, Romance, Crime, and the Classics. Some of his favourite authors remain, Gerald Durrell, Jane Austen, Peter James, Ellis Peters, and Isaac Asimov. At the age of eleven, he wrote his first fictional story about his toy teddy bear clan. Since then he has gone on to have some of his non-fiction article published in magazines, published a fictional crime series and a courtroom drama series. He has engaged in several different careers and says that these life experiences have all contributed greatly to his penchant for storytelling.

Bailey’s latest foray into fiction is a new WW2 Aviation Thriller series, The Spitfire Mavericks. It features spies, thrilling action packed aerial combat, romance and more. The series features a maverick crew of pilots thrown out from every squadron. The hero of the hour Flying Officer Angus Mackennelly endeavours to save the day in a series of thrilling adventures.

Bailey has also penned five full-length crime novels which is a genre he is particularly fond of. The Confessional Killings is the first of a series containing a heady mix of crime, suspense, humour, steamy romance and much more. Bailey has also tackled some controversial and topical subjects surrounding the Catholic Church in this story. The stories are set in Ireland, and Bailey confesses to having a great affection for the Irish.

Bailey has also published The Innocent Killing, and four other books in a Courtroom Drama series featuring a fictional barrister in Dublin called Bernadette Mackenna. This new series is a spicy mix of courtroom drama and same-sex romance. When asked why he started writing the books, Bailey said it was a story that needed to be told and one he would want to read himself.

The Spitfire Mavericks, DI Gallway Investigates, Bernadette Mackenna Investigates are set to continue for many more books to come. Bailey is dedicated to excellence and writes with passion but at the same time tries to make his words accessible to those of all persuasions, often shocking perhaps, but never dull.

I've waxed lyrical in my reviews for the previous two books in this series... and I can very easily do the same again with this instalment. The action blasts from the first chapter and the well loved cast assembles just like a team of superheroes (without the capes and leggings... mostly...) albeit heroes that are readily identifiable in their human foibles. The plot moves nicely through the dark and dangerous to the downright humorous with an ease that is incredibly readable.

It's no big secret that I am a fan of these books (and parrots...) and their decent length means there is always plenty to get your teeth into. As always I am looking forward to the next book with eager anticipation.

The third instalment does not disappoint.
The Foxcatchers are back, and they brought the parrot too! This time they are on the hunt for a sniper who is taking out members of the clergy.
All my favourite characters have returned, and a few new ones were thrown into the mix. And as usual, catching the killer isn't the only thing on their minds. There's steam coming from every direction as relationships heat up and it's make or break for one of our favourite couples.
As always I don't give away too much about the plot, but Bailey goes big with the final showdown!
Oh, and you may as well buy book four as well because you're going to want to dive into it straight away!

The third instalment of the DI Gallway Investigates series picks up where we left off in the last book with a bang. Literally. From the start of the book, you're thrown in at the deep end with Seamus and the team. What follows is a action packed ride to discover who's behind the mass shootings.
We get to see the team evolve, relationships have their ups and downs as well as the reappearance of the infamous parrot.
As always, my favourite character is still Seamus' boss, Brogan, who makes many more amusing appearances throughout this book and had me in stitches.

I highly recommend this book and this series to those who love crime with a little drama, some romance and characters you can fall in love with.

Getting fed up with all the unnecessary graphic sex scenes and the poor proof reading of the books. Such a shame as the plots are good.
