As the sun drops low among the spokes of the Ferris wheel behind the grandstand, a particular smell overwhelms you-the mix of funnel cakes, diesel fuel, and the giddy expectation of an anxious crowd[From the beginning, the sport has had a calling all its own. For pulling fans, this spectacle feeds an addiction like no other.Tractor Pull! gives readers an inside look at the sport of tractor pulling from its earliest days to today's monster pulling machines. Photography from the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA), Full Pull magazine's Photo Joe Egli, the American Tractor Pullers Association (ATPA), and the Championship Tractor Pull at the National Farm Machinery Show includes pulling greats Danny Dean, the Banter brothers, Bruce Hutcherson, Art Arfons, Esdon Lehn, and Tim Engler-to name a few.Whether you live your life 300 feet at a time or have yet to feel the adrenaline rush of a pull, you'll experience the power and excitement of the sport through the pages of Tractor Pull!
I rated this book 3 out of 5 stars because the book provides a lot of information, but it doesn't go into detail as much as it should. However if you don't know much about tractor pulling then it would be a decent book. The book describes the roots of tractor pulling, how safety has advanced, and it informs you about popular drivers. Last but not least it talks about the future of the sport.
Over all the book was okay. The words interact with the pictures to help you understand what it's talking about. It would have been better if it described how the sled works and functions. Its an good book if you are new to the sport of tractor pulling.
