作為布屈的要好摯友與少數活至晚年的犯罪者，艾爾茲．雷無論是傳記多寡抑或史料紀錄均少得令人驚訝，顯得此書的存在（唯一的艾爾茲傳記）特別珍貴及有價值。儘管替讀者補充許多艾爾茲的過往，可不到100頁的內容仍讓人覺得可惜（與略顯不足），說不定有別處可以挖掘更多史料才是？
