Mordicai Gerstein was an American artist, writer, and film director, best known for illustrating and writing children's books. He illustrated the comic mystery fiction series Something Queer is Going On.
this is a book that is bases off of that nursery rhyme ten in the bed. It follows the rhythm fairly close except that the ones falling out of the bed are animals that are related to the little boy.
i like this book because it reminds of the rhyme but with a fun twist mixed in to make it its own thing and not a carbon copy.
Im not sure i would use this in my classroom because i feel like the kids you would read this to would rather just listen to the song.
Roll Over by Caldecott Gold Medalist Mordicai Gerstein is a very simple book meant for young readers. The premise of it being a little boy telling all his animal relatives to roll over in a bed they all share until each of them falls off the other side. Because it was so young, I did not enjoy it too much but it is a good book to read for bedtime for young children.
A fun version of the traditional nursery rhyme. Page turns are created with opening the page to add the animal who falls out of the bed. Repetition and counting make this a good book to read to even the youngest child.
This book was published on April 1988 by Mordicai Gerstein. It is a nice book for Children to learn how to count backwards and it is good for singing at bed time. It will help children to recognize a rhythm in writing and reading. It promote cognitive and language and literacy.
Another of Peter's favorites right now. He loves to turn the little page to see who fell out of the bed. Sister Seal is his favorite, as she has a BALL!
Cute beginner book. Perfect for 3-5 year olds. It has subtracting and number practice. The children will love all of the fun animals and cute pictures.
