Dirty Red is back, and this time she’s on the run.Having apparently wounded all of her enemies, and even her beloved Q, Raven “Red” Gomez finds herself away from Detroit living the life of luxury in Arizona. She’s become a successful home broker with a bestselling book, and it seems as if all of her dirty tricks have finally paid off—from framing Detective Thomas to ruining Kera's freedom. Unfortunately for Red, she’s made more enemies than she can count, and she soon finds herself running across country in fear of them all while still being in love with Q. Everyone seems to have a reason to pay her the ultimate revenge, and even the most unlikely become partners if it means finally bringing an end to all of Red’s dirty schemes. In yet another fast-paced and spiraling edition in this bestselling series, Vickie Stringer writes about a woman who will do anything to save her life and the people who go so low in attempts to stop her.
Unbelievable. And not in a good way. The most recent tale of Red's exploits seems like more of a hopeful dream of unexpected and unbelievable chance happenings. I was not impressed at all.
This book was good ! I won’t even lie the ending had me like Umh seriously!!!? You could’ve spared me that but anywho the book was good and I did enjoy it. There were a lot of twists and turns and it was good reading about all of the players in the book
Well, looks like there will be another book to this series. It’s strange how things in life turn out. Some of us are like cats with nine lives and others are like creatures of habit. We never know when or where to stop. Remember one thing you can’t start a future until you confront your past.
Still Dirty/Low Down & Dirty Review Low Down and dirty is the forth book in the Dirty Red series. Red thought her days on the run were behind her. She bought a new house and Arizona from her real estate checks and was leading a low key lifestyle. She double crossed everybody and thought that she had left no loose ends in Detroit until Catfish came banging on her door, ready for revenge. Red is a professional con artist and uses ethos, pathos, or logos in almost all her conversations. Red has been called a "con artist" and a "master manipulator" when it comes to getting what she wants. An example for logos Red convinces Catfish not to kill her by convincing him that she has a big movie deal coming through since she is his an "author" He believes her because it is logical to think that she has a movie deal coming through since her books were best sellers. Red even says "I'm already a bestselling author, it's not a stretch to think i have a movie deal," (Low Down & Dirty, pg.25) Red appeals to pathos because she uses the love others have for her to her advantage. She knew Bacon had a soft spot for her so she used that for her purposes. She acted like she was in love with him and told her about her tough childhood so that he would let her out the house more and trust her. Red carefully planned it saying "All I have to do is give this n---- some waterworks and I'll be out this house in no time," (Still Dirty,pg. 56) The whole time she was also sleeping with the police officer and saying Bacon was beating her so that he would feel bad for her. She needed the detective to remove her as a suspect from a murder she committed and to help her set up Bacon. After he helped her she framed him for rape. Red appeals to ethos when she goes to Mexico and has to prove that she "down" with the illegal things they had going on. Most people don't know Red is Puerto Rican because her skin is darker because her dad was black. The woman who was giving her money was skeptical of her Red started speaking Spanish and the woman trusted her. Red also said she was Costa Rican instead of Puerto Rican because "the prejudices aren't as deep with the Costa Ricans and Mexicans," (Low Down & Dirty pg. 100). Red is an accomplished con artist and manipulator. She uses whoever she has to to get what she wants. She manipulated trained hired hit men to kill her respected step father in cold blood. Red appeals to logos, paathos, and ethos in every situation.
Was not disappointed until the last chapter. It was rushed. There was a lot of unanswered questions. How did Foxy know where Red was to tell Q? What happened with Red and her mom after Jeromes death? How does Q go from marrying Chazz and becoming a father to returning to Red? There has to be another book because Red is not finished being DIRTY!!! She has to help Q get back on top and get rid of Blu and Foxy.
So this was a disappointment. There were huge holes in the story. A true player nevers walks away from millions of dollars let alone on numerous occasions. Not to mention the travel issues, name changing and dirty cops working with snitches. I checked this out from the library and I suggest you do the same cause it ain't worth 2 cents...
This book was confusing and unrealistic. Why is Blue now being called Black and why would the police release a murder to catch a con artist. That’s stupid. I don’t like the Chaz character, she irritates me, maybe because I like Red and want to see her win and get her life together. I’m always rooting for the underdog. I was happy to see that Q had forgiven Red, I’m interested to know what happened with Q and Chaz.
She keeps getting away and the people she has hurt keep ending up in the grave. Just when I thought it was over for her she gets saved once again. I wish I knew the title of the book to see what happens next and where she is going to go.
It was a pretty okay read. Just following up on what the main character Red has been up to. I kinda wish the end didn't leave you hanging wanting to know what happened.
Pros- developed characters, high drama, organized storyline, moderately paced, good audio production Cons-odd pauses at times in narration, incorrect word usage at time or two
3.5⭐️ 4 books later and Red still got away with everythingggg!?? I wasn’t expecting this book to have a happy ending I wanted something really bad to happen 😅😂
Raven Gomez is the luckiest crooked woman in America. She has burned bridges from here to forever. She always runs into people that she is trying to avoid. Catfish finds her in Arizona. Black runs into her in Vegas. Foxy bumps into her in L.A. Q sees her in Mexico. What part of extreme coincidences can the Author not understand? She eludes Black and a detective she framed for rape in Detroit. She scores a $30k scam on a random cocaine deal. Finally, Q, who was married, saves her from arrest when she is tracked down in NY. Unbelievable
Sometimes when you pick up a book that's a part of a series, it doesn't matter if you missed a book or two somewhere in the middle because the author provides enough information to drive a story on its own. However, with this one, it turned out, for me, that missing a book (or two) made a big difference. I was lost at the characters' motivation for some of the things that they did, and not enough information was provided for me to sympathize or empathize with any of the characters. I don't feel like I really got to know any of them. However, the story was fast-paced and an easy read.
This book was my least favorite from all the others it just seemed to unrealistic. I was very excited to read this book when I found out it was being released however, it seems as though this book was written by a different author from the other three books in this series. Disappointed is an understatement. I hate to say the book sucked but compared to the other 3, this is an accurate description. There was no point to this installment and way too many loose ends. It just doesn't make much sense!!!
4.5 solid stars This book was definitely a page turner .In fact the whole series was. It was an amazing read and so worth I . Even though she was a scandalous bitch I was always rooting for Red. I loved the ending. Just wish the author gave us a little more. I was so glad Q came back . I was always hoping he would. he should have never wasted time marrying Chass in the first place . She was a stuck up, snitching bitch that thought she was better than everyone. Very Recommended read .
