Kashton Colello przywykł do bycia niewidzialnym.

Team Batt!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌏
Character development: 😳🤬😏🤓☺️

The heroine: Bailey Hayes - She was nearly kidnapped a few months back and came to live at the estate of her father Peter Francis. She got to know her three siblings Matt, Seraphina, and Cyclone who she adores. She also got to know Kash who is now her boyfriend.

The Hero: Kashton Colello - He is the 9th richest man in the world due to his own business savvy and the fact that his father was partners with Peter Francis in building a tech empire, plus the fact that his mother was great at making money and owned shares in a bunch of growing companies. Kash was raised with the Francis family after his parents were murdered by his Grandfather Calhoun Bastian who is also one of the richest men in the world but is affiliated with the mafia and other underground business and who wants Kash to follow his footsteps.

The Story: Kash and Bailey are in love but everything is not smooth sailing at this point. Bailey is trying to get over nearly being Kidnapped and murdered a second time, this time by her father’s wife Quinn and the team she hired. Though Quinn is out of the picture now, Bailey has some PTSD which isn’t helped by the fact that Quinn’s lookalike sister is now at the estate and looking after Bailey’s younger siblings. That and the fact that Calhoun Bastian keeps showing up unexpectedly.

This book was every bit as exciting as The Insiders and the romance between Kash and Bailey was totally awesome. I loved that we got Kash’s POV as well as Bailey’s. It is always nice to see the thoughts and feelings of the Hero and Kash is every bit the Hero for Bailey. And the supporting characters rocked in this book as well. Bailey’s entire family were great, especially her brother Matt.

I whispered, “Team Batt?”
My brother gave me another dark look, a wicked gleam, and I shouldn’t have liked how he flashed a triumphant grin, but I was feeling everything he just said.
He gave me an approving nod. “Oh yeah. Team Batt.” He held out his hand.
I wasn’t sure what to do with it, so I reached out, opened it, and shook it.
A funny look was on his face, but then he nodded and pulled his hand free. “Okay. I was going with the fist bump. A sibling handshake works, too.” He raised an eyebrow. “We’re doing this?”
We were doing this.

Other great characters were Matt’ friends Tony, Chester and Guy, Bailey’s friends Torie and Tam as well as her graduate school friends Melissa, Liam and Hoda. All of the security guards, including Fitz, Scott and Erik. Bailey’s Mom Chrissy and Dad Peter. There were quite a few villains in this one as well, including Quinn, Calhoun, Victoria and her two girls Fleur and Cedar. It all made for quite an exciting read. I hope Matt gets his own story at some point because he is quite a character.

The ending was chilling and it was a major cliffhanger. Much different than I expected, but it starts to set up the next book which I can’t wait for.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Book 2 in The Insiders Trilogy ~ absolutely needs to be read after The Insiders as this is the continuation of the story.

Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, college student, tech genius, billionaire, possessive protector, some steamage

Bailey & Kash's story picks right up where it left off. She's trying to fit in in college and get used to her new life as Peter Francis's daughter. I know she's young, but she acts a bit immature at times. He is busy being powerful and always conducting business.

Since there was quite a bit of action going the pace was fast. The ending was really crazy and unexpected. The story will conclude in The Revenge.

I'm sorry friends, but my IT skills are not as vast at Bailey's. I tried really hard to find out the name of the hottie boom bottie on the cover, but I came up empty handed. I know, I'm super sad too.

*Thanks to a goodreads giveaway for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*

THE DAMAGED is the second book in a new and exciting NA trilogy. It has all the ingredients I’ve come to expect from a Tijan novel.

Alpha hero, rich, possessive, and dangerous
Strong and sassy heroine
Family drama
THE DAMAGED takes up where THE INSIDERS left off.

The plot thickens. Not only because Bailey finally goes to college, which brings its own set of challenges, but also because family is family and some family is better not seen or heard of.

Drama the way only Tijan can write it, peppers this story from beginning to end. It left me speechless, and excited to read the last book in this trilogy. Especially after the mind blowing ending.

I have no idea where the story goes next.

But I’m here for it all.

I’m also excited to see Bailey and Kash deepening their relationship even further. They have come so far, and seeing them so into each other, not just physically, but also to a point when they really understand each other to a degree that no other can match. There is a give and take between them that left me very satisfied.

I also love the combination of alpha male and spunky heroine. Both Kash and Bailey are very much what I expect from a Tijan couple. He is very protective of his woman, rich and powerful, used to get things done his way, and she is a strong-willed, spunky female. They are definitely a couple worth rooting for.

And compared to The Insiders, which was missing the most important POV of all – Kash’s – I finally got some of his thoughts, but not nearly enough. He is such a fantastic alpha male, and I loved reading about what’s going on in his head. And he did not disappoint.

To finish it all up nicely, the book ended with a BANG!!!!! A bang I wasn’t prepared for, it actually blew my mind and I can’t wait for the epic showdown.

Audiobook: Narrators - Emma Galvin & Joe Arden

Ms. Galvin is definitely the voice of Bailey and after listening to her in The Insiders as well as this one, I can’t imagine anyone else. While the hero does not have a lot of “voice” time, what he does have is excellently performed by Mr. Arden. Great delivery of Kash and his dominant, authoritative nature.

Animated GIF

This had the drama, angst, heat and sizzle that I found in book one but actually better because Bailey and Kash are fighting together towards the same goal. I loved watching them as they maneuvered each problem that arose. Not as individuals, but as a couple that were committed to each other. I wasn’t expecting them to be as solid as they were and it was a delicious treat to experience it. This ends in a whopping cliffhanger and some INTENSE angst dangling over the reader's head. I cannot wait to learn what happens!

So much delicious drama! The fact that Kash and Bailey are so solid, it allows for me as a reader to really enjoy all the drama. I love seeing a couple work together against drama instead of it being between the couple. Kash is keeping Bailey out of some of the more dangerous aspects because he's super protective. Another thing that a I love to see. I'm a fan of both main characters but I gotta say Kash is the main draw for me in this series. He's the kind of hero that can be very dangerous to others except the heroine. He's super protective and puts her first. With that huge cliffhanger, I can not wait for the next book!

This was everything I had been waiting on. The Insider was awesome and I didn't think Tijan could top it, however this book was epic. As we know in the last book Bailey was kipnapped by Quinn, Bailey father's wife and at her party her father Peter Francis through her annoucing to the world Bailey was his daughter. Now Bailey is trying to cope with the after affects of not just that kidnapping but the first kidnapping also, yes kidnapped twice because of her billionaire father. Which by the way out of the four children Peter has Bailey is the most like him. Bailey went from living in a small town outside of Chicago to suddenly a priviledge daughter of the man she secretly hero worshipped. Peter Francis is a the tech guru and software giant.

Kashton Colello is use to hiding in secret in the shadows and taking care of all the Francis family needs. Now he has become the ninth riches man and has to protect his assets, the Francis's but his woman Bailey Hayes. You love to see the dynamic between Kash & Bailey they are together in every way working together as a couple, Kash tries to keep the heavy things from Bailey but Bailey is savvy the greatest hackerand has a photogenic memory, so can hold her own. Kash is always two steps ahead but he didn't see the fact that Quinn, Peter's wife wanted to hurt Bailey but now he also has his grandfather Calhoun Bashan after him too, and his grandfather will use every trick to one up Kash. Will Kash find out what is brewing before its too late. Or will everyone with a vengence come for Kash & Bailey before Kashton has a chance to get the one woman he's ever love to safety. Who will come first, Quinn's in jail or is she? Victoria his ex lover is scorn? Don't forget Bailey's friends from Hawking University also...When enemies start to combine together will Kash be a match? Will he be able to protect his woman Bailey and the wonderful family he has build Peter, Matt, Seraphina Cyclone & Chrissy Hayes Bailey's mother. This book has you spiraling out of control wanting more and can't wait for the 3rd book The Revenge!!! A Whooper in a cliffhanger...

Who will come out unscathed and who will be Damaged?

I was enamored with book one so when I received an Advance copy of Book Two. I immediately jumped in and couldn’t put it down. The plot captivated me from the first page.
Not only did my love of the strong but vulnerable heroine Bailey grow but having Kashton’s POV gave me a new book boyfriend.
Their relationship grows while both carry guilt and secrets.
The side characters are layered into the story purposely and add more depth and emotions.

The plot is intriguing, suspenseful, emotional and still has the signature tone that only Tijan can write to perfection.

The Damaged will enthrall you and the cliffhanger will leave you begging for more.

I can’t wait for Book Three!

Wszystko wypłynęło. WSZYSTKO.

Siedzę przed komputerem i zaciskam dłonie w pięści. Oczy szczypią mnie od łez. Wpatruję się w ekran i powtarzam tylko:
Nie, nie, nie… Nie!
Potrząsam głową, jakby miało to cokolwiek zmienić.
Dziesiątki połączeń, setki komentarzy i oznaczeń.

Czy Was ostrzegam? Mówię, żebyście byli ostrożni. Gdy przeczytacie, też będziecie wszystko wiedzieć, a to niesie pewne… zagrożenia.

- Musisz to zobaczyć - wysunął w moją stronę dłoń, w której ściskał migoczący telefon.
- Uhm… - cisza. - Uhm, taaak. Nie, nie teraz. Czytam.

- A może byśmy…

- Nie wiesz, gdzie…
- Czytam.

- Kto powie „co”, ten zmywa naczynia!
- Co?
- Ha!
- Daj spokój. Czytam!

Dopadłam do „Damaged” i czytałam, czytałam, czytałam.

To drugi tom serii.
A gdy przeczytacie drugi…

So this story didn't continue where it left off at book one. Book one ends with someone at Kash's door. I expect this book to actually start with Kash opening the door to that person or slam the door in that person's face. But neither of those happened.

This book followed Bailey. Going to grad school with bodyguards. Bailey feeling very important and sheltered. She's always being taken care of, either by the guards, her family & friends, or her boyfriend. She's a genius but seems fragile even though she talks tough.

This story has the bad guys targeting Bailey and Kash. Alternating views for both. Her backups are her classmates. One classmate didn't play so nice and ended up miserable because when you go up against someone with money and power, you're doom.

I have book 3 so I will continue reading this series because this book ends very sad for one person who just admitted she's in love!

This is the continuing drama started with The Insider by Tijan.
This provides all the necessary interest and layers a middle book needs to make the reader want the last satisfying third book.

Absolutely intense..there is absolutely noone who can can an intense and emotional book like Tijan. There's just something about the way she writes that's like no other. A unique signature that makes her one of my favourite authors.

The Damaged was an enjoyable read but there was something missing . I didn't feel the full Tijan experience.
But having said that, Kash and Bailey are perfection 🔥🔥🔥

Lovers of romantic suspense, this is one trilogy you don’t want to miss, and it’s not over yet! If I enjoyed The Insiders, I was bowled over by The Damaged. It picks up perfectly from where the first book left off, Tijan giving her readers little reminders. Not that I needed them as everything was still fresh in my mind. Fast-paced and action-packed, the ending was so well-thought-out that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on book two. And when I did dive into it, putting Bailey and Kash’s story down wasn’t an option.

I’m a great admirer of Tijan’s narrative writing skills. She has a knack for making her characters come alive and giving her stories a realistic feel, her latest instalment equaling this fact. I was a tad concerned about the newcomers’ names since I often have trouble remembering who is who, but not this time. Everyone slipped in nicely despite my antipathy towards a couple of individuals. And although this sounds contradictory, I loved hating them!

Impatient to see Kash again, having even more of him was a delight. This time around, Tijan gets down to the nitty-gritty in Kash and Bailey’s relationship. One gets the impression that nothing ruffles this tenacious man’s feathers, but when it comes to his woman’s security, he'd kill for her. No pun intended! Always protective of the people he cares for, his very being will be put to the test. I couldn't possibly tell you what I sensed was going to happen or whether it panned out how I thought it would because it’s nail-biting stuff you have to experience for yourselves!

Even though Bailey’s still adjusting to her current surroundings and changes, she’s determined to make things work. There was a point when I felt my heart go out to this lass whose fleeting what-ifs and insecurities made me sit back and think about the situation she was in. I adored her attitude, her extraordinary intellect and the effort she makes to fit in with her peers. Her openness with some family members and her deep affection for all of them were emotions I couldn't get enough of. The dialogue flows seamlessly throughout, but something felt off-kilter—and I waited, and I was left aghast.

If I could have, I’d have given Matt, Bailey’s brother, a hug! I’d certainly like to see if he’ll be able to overcome his issues in book three. A glimpse of their younger siblings left me wanting more and keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll be back in full force, too.

What scorching chemistry; what a jaw-dropping twist, what a gripping page-turner! Tijan’s storytelling never ceases to amaze me! Bravo!

The Damaged is the second book in The Insiders trilogy. This is a sexy romantic suspense book.

This book should be read after The Insiders as it's a continuing series.

The Damaged begins about 3 weeks after the cliffhanger ending in book one. Truthfully I was a bit disappointed in this as I really wanted the story to pick up exactly where the first book left off.

In this book we get the male POV too. There are two narrators (Bailey and Kash - 1st person POVs).

Bailey is a computer genius/hacker. And I love that about her. Kash is her mega-rich alpha male boyfriend. And while I do like them as a couple. I am not the biggest fan of alpha males. But look at the cover! Also this book is extremely sexy, which isn't my preference. But I know that it will appeal to a lot of romance readers.

There were a lot of things that I enjoyed about this book. I absolutely loved the whole college element. And there were some great new characters including Melissa and Hoda. The feud with Kash's grandfather was so good! And I love getting to see Bailey interact with her mom and siblings.

The book definitely has lots of great twists. And it has another cliffhanger ending. Overall this was a really could book two. And I'm anxious to read book three.

Thanks to netgalley and SMP Romance for allowing me to read this book.

I’ve read and lived many of Tijan’s books and this series is pulling at my heart way more that I thought it will.
Damn, that cliffhanger moment made me shout out loud at my kindle.
More secrets and drama are uncovered in this book and while I’m all invested in the romance story, which is hot as expected, I need to read more of the suspenseful part because I didn’t expect that!

What a ride! You can never go wrong with this series.

Honestly I was not expecting this book to be THIS DANG FLIPPING GOOD. To be honest I remembered a fat whopping zero from book one and wasn’t even going to buy book two but then I saw a copy at half price books and figured - why not? And dangggggg am I glad I did. This book is just ahhhhhh soooo goooood. I’m obsessed with Bailey and Kash and the drama and suspense in this book had me flipping pages all day long.

I need the next book ASAP!!!!

This is the second book in THE INSIDERS trilogy. I actually liked this one more than the first. I would consider this more New Adult. It was suspenseful, intense, full of action and had some steam. Definitely entertaining and I really just flew through it! I love this trilogy and cannot wait to see how it all ends in book 3.

Damaged was the typical second book with the development of relationships and plot, the building up of the final book, and a bit of filler. The filler consisted of the wild and rather nasty shenanigans by Matt and his friends and a flurry of characters being introduced into the story. It was also a mixture of sometimes random interferences by the main villain (Kash's grandfather,) Bailey’s parents, as well as Kash’s billionaire machinations. While not hard to follow, the story cohesion was lacking at times. The ending was good. There was just some silly stuff to wade through in order to get to it.

In the end, this is a completely over-the-top story of rich, entitled twenty-somethings with mommy and daddy issues. I knew this going in and yet, I can devour these books in no time flat. Like the first book, the author has a writing style that is swiftly paced with a staccato beat that moves the story along quickly. She's also great with details, even though this one could benefit from some paring down. I still like the heroine. Always a plus.

This series is killing me in the best ways possible.
The growth in the relationships that Bailey started to form in book one was astronomical. Her family, her and Kash, even the relationship she had with herself.
I think Matt was probably my most surprising character, and that’s all I’m saying about him.
The twists and turns really do keep me on my toes, and I never can pinpoint where the hits are coming from. It’s like fist fighting with a blindfold, but give me multiple attackers and my hands are behind my back.
I cannot spoil this. But I am dyingggggg for the next release, and I know it’s so far away!

Update: 1/22-

The audio to this is SO GOOD! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and it’s just brought back how much I NEED the next book in the series.

Do I really have to wait for the next book? Can't I have it right now? The Damaged was IMPOSSIBLE to put down, more so than The Insiders even, and I just know the third and final book will be the same. Suspenseful, sexy, and somehow both a new adult and adult read. The Damaged packs a punch, taking readers back into Bailey's world, but this time we also get the occasional glimpse into Kash's mind. We're back in the world of the rich and famous-by-association. The money drips, from their clothes and their cars and the hotels they call home. Doors open for them, clubs open ropes up, and Bailey is finally going to see what money and power can do for her as she begins school at Hawking University.

One of my favorite parts of The Insiders was Bailey's brain, she's so dang smart and even when she relaxed into her family role she still responded smartly. In The Damaged it is clear love has taken over some space in her brain, she's a bit less insightful, and she's always dripping in lust for Kash. It would be annoying, if there chemistry wasn't so off the charts and if I didn't love books with all-consuming relationships so much. Her brain shows its stuff when it comes to school though and I really enjoyed her world expanding, to see her gain friendships, to grow her relationship with Matt, and to see a future setting itself up for her.

Unfortunately, things go off the rails, as they do when you're Peter Francis' unknown daughter and dating the ninth richest man in the world. Jealousy, greed, anger, lust, and revenge take Bailey and Kash on a wild ride and based on the ending of this book, it's not done yet. It's a rollercoaster, one that Tijan gives you a break from with intense romance scenes and brother-sister bonding. I knew though that the unknown figure from the first novel would show up again, I knew there was something to come, and my word I cannot wait for it! I need book three. I need to know more. Tijan did such a good job foreshadowing what is to come and I am just begging to have it revealed to me this instant.

The Damaged is another excellent release from Tijan and a stunning secondary novel in the trilogy. I rarely love the second book in any series, but oh my word, this could end up being my favorite. The writing is new-adult-ish, with quicker dialogue and a lack of complex world building, but I sort of enjoyed that. While The Damaged isn't challenging to read, it is entertaining and what it lacks in depth it makes up for in excitement and intrigue. The Insiders Trilogy is one I am highly recommending to romance-suspense fans like me.

Provocative, rousing, and edgy!

The Damaged is a dramatic, seductive tale that picks up right where The Insiders left off, taking us back into the lives of Bailey and Kash as their relationship strengthens and grows and their need to support, protect, and love each other becomes even more important when danger and ruthless enemies swirl all around them.

The prose is tight and steamy. The characters, including a great cast of supporting characters, are impulsive, multilayered, and consumed. And the plot is a deliciously tortuous tale filled with temptation, desire, deception, mystique, familial drama, palpable attraction, and malicious intentions.

Overall, The Damaged is a sultry, intriguing, suspenseful tale by Tijan that kept me invested, engaged, and on the edge of my seat from the very first page, and with its shocking teaser of an ending undoubtedly left me counting down the days until the third and final novel in this trilogy becomes available, and the battle between good and evil finally comes to a head.

Thank you to SMP Romance – St. Martin’s Press for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Review :
Damn, the second part is finally here. It feels like forever has passed since I read the first part of this series and had to do a reread to catch up to it 😂

I used to love Tijan's books but then her books started to bore. That was not the case with this series and I actually liked it! So I was pretty excited for the second book of this series and it was good as well. The Damaged picks off where the first book ended. I had a lot of questions specifically about our dear hero because damn that man gave me a whip splash. His intentions and his reasons went over my head so Yupp, I wanted answers 😂

I am happy to say that some of the mystery finally got revealed in this book!! This series is going smoothly for me, I won't say that it is mind blowing but yeah it is keeping me hooked enough to make me want to read the next book of the series.

……. :)

I finished this while I was at work and was :O. THE ENDING? HELLO?

I really am getting so wrapped up in this series that it is stressing me tf out. It's another one where when I'm not reading it, I am thinking about it. Unbelievable.

Kash and Bailey are back with even more drama. Being Peter's daughter has introduced her to a whole new life and when she tries to stay somewhat invisible in grad school, other people can't just let her be. Determined to hold her head high, she ignores it until she can't anymore which just so happens when a few problems come forward. She's found her support system but things are strained and Bailey's defence mechanism is avoidance. The only person she can face is Kash but even with him, she isn't being honest. Which is fine because he isn't either.

This book is filled with frustration in so many ways. All these characters have so much crap going on it is actually insane. Bailey needs therapy. ACCCCCTUALLY, they all need therapy. Like... badly. Non-negotiable therapy. I just need the communication to increase by a WHOOOOLE bunch because they are not talking and everyone desperately needs to talk to everyone. This is the one thing that is KINDA annoying but I am about to read book 3 and am hoping there is a reason for being so tight-lipped.

The end of this book is fucking RUDE though dude. I WAS SO ANXIOUS AND THEN I READ WHAT HAPPENS? I'M NOT OKAY. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE FAMILY VACATION. NO. N o. I will not get over that.

Tijan always delivers such interesting characters and juicy drama- I just gobble her books right up, and I am loving this new series. It is full of secrets and mystery- a delicious mix of family drama, young love, elite machinations, power struggles, and mafia connections. We have a quintessential Tijan book boyfriend in the enigmatic, devoted, and protective Kash, and this second book made me love him even more intensely. And in Bailey we have a dynamic, fierce, and clever heroine- caught in a tangled web of lies and mystery while also just trying to handle the drama and challenges of finding her place in the world and in her family. This is shaping up to be a favorite Tijan series- and that ending will have you begging for the finale of this trilogy!

The Damaged picks up from the first book in the series (The Insiders) it was everything I hoped for but also more than I could have ever imagined.

Kash and Bailey really brought all the feels into this book. The whole plot was cool, it takes and the twists thrown upon us and I can’t wait for book three to see what in store for Bailey, Kash and the Francis family next.
If you haven’t read any Tijan’s books by now, read this series one and you won’t be disappointed.

I received a ARC from St. Martin's Press through NetGalley for an honest review..

I read this book very quickly and I hope I won’t have to wait long for the last book!
.
This started a bit after The Insiders finished. We get more of the bad guys and drama. Bailey is trying to adjust and dealing with the aftermath of what she went through in the previous book. More secrets are revealed.
.
I love how connected Kash and Bailey still are. There are a few bumps along the way but overall there is lots of trust with each other and Kash tries to do right by her. I LOVE HIM! The last book of this book was a wild ride. The last page? I was waiting for that to pop up.

Ok, one name again that stands out - Kashton Colello...

The Damaged was fascinating from the first word to the last.

A few words was all it took for reality to fade and I was fully engulfed inside this world.

I honestly don’t know where to begin, of course I went into it not knowing what to expect, but even so, Tijan delivered an epic read that has my mind spinning.

Bailey’s starting graduate school with bodyguards by her side. Now that the secret is out on who her father is and her relationship with Kash, people have begun to take notice of Bailey everywhere she goes.

She was making new friends while others were making assumptions on who Bailey was and the life she had led to that point.

Bailey’s emotions were delivered with a raw intensity, every one of them left a searing mark inside of me. Tijan’s carefully crafted words, once read, transfuse the emotions of the character straight into your heart.

I was completely mesmerized, I couldn’t stop, one page to the next had your heart racing and your head reeling with thoughts of what was to come.

There was a shift in Bailey and Kash’s relationship, more intense in every way, and more open in others. You could feel the burning chemistry between them with every interaction. They breathed a little easier just by being near one another, and when they weren’t you could feel the heaviness they carried when they were apart.

Kash’s alpha protectiveness reached new levels, and this man’s steamy swoon factor is rising well above the average book boyfriend.

An all time favorite read.

A heady blend of soul searing chemistry, a protective alpha hero, a strong intelligent heroine, intense emotions, spine chilling suspense, heart-stopping shocks, steam, and witty banter to lighten the blows to your heart.

I received a copy of this with thanks to the publisher and Netgalley, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Insiders ★★★

Second book in this series and I’m still on the three star train. Like I said about The Insiders, Tijan knows how to get me to keep reading. Her writing has such an addictive sway about it. I finished this in a day because I kept needing to know what the next thing would be.

Story wise, we really didn’t get much. Of course, we got a few twists and an ending that makes you want to read the next book. However, there wasn’t any character growth and nothing really happened for most of the book. Bailey and Kash have sex, Bailey goes to school, Kash has to go on a trip. REPEAT. I can say that I’m glad that this didn’t feel drawn out and was only 311 pages. Sometimes authors drag books that don’t need it.

My biggest issue was the lack of communication. Kash shut out quite a bit from Bailey that didn't make sense. For someone who was so in tune with her feelings and personality, why didn't he see that some of his actions would affect her or was just something that he should have been in communication about?

While this hasn’t been my favorite series from Tijan, I am curious enough to see how this ends to pick up the last book in this trilogy.

Wow! I’m almost at a loss of words at this ending! This suspenseful story continues with some angst, twists, jealousy and a whole lot of confusion for Bailey. Kash is immersed into a complicated war with his corrupt grandfather which has him distracted, secretive and trying to stay ten moves ahead of his enemy. Meanwhile Bailey is trying to stay afloat after a traumatizing event by keeping busy with her new school, friends and avoiding disturbing thoughts. A whole lot of moving pieces kept me glued to this story and I found it highly entertaining and hard to put down. I felt Bailey’s frustrations to my core because how strong can one person be? How much faith can you have in a person who won’t share details that can come and bite a chunk out of your soul? I’m going to be over here...rocking...waiting to see what Tijan tosses at me next while she smirks in her chair.
