Essential preschool age food for thought and guidance to engage well with kids and “help them make meaning of the world around them.” Great conversations tips, how to give instruction. It as much a practical tool for what to do at every step, but how to make your words matter more!
I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who has toddlers or preschoolers or who works with them in any capacity. It is easy to understand and apply immediately to daily life, but the concepts will have huge dividends in the lives of your children. While it is written for teachers, I could directly relate to the examples and appreciate her explanation of why or why not to say certain things to children. It has already been very helpful for my two boys, age 2 & 4, and I really feel that mow I have some tactical skills for dealing with situations that just made me frustrated before. Quick read and WELL worth it!
WONDERFUL! Read this for one of my university classes. This book focuses on how to effectively communicate with preschool age children in a way that best fits their developmental level. I would recommend it to anyone involved with young children, be that in the school, daycare or at home setting. Very short with 5 chapters, at a little over 100 pages.
Every parent should read this. It has some great insight into the minds of children and how our language can help solve more problems in the classroom (and I'm sure the home) than we realize.
