From the evolution of mankind to the origin of ice cream, this refreshing and upbeat complement to the bestselling The Pessimist's Guide to History provides dozens of stories of success and triumph from which optimists can draw strength.
The Optomist's Guide to History by Doris Flexner (Avon Books 1995) (902.02). Great events in history are ordered chronologically and feature small entries describing the significance of each. This is not generally history per se; it's more a collection of interesting trivia. My rating: 7/10, finished 9/15/16.
This was my first history book. I learned a majority of useless information like when the toothbrush was invented to the when the first refrigerator went up for sale. Random crap that filled my head. :)
