SCOOBY-DOO is an 'Ameri-canine' icon, the most beloved cartoon pooch of the past three generations. The snack-sniffling sleuth and his pals are in the midst of a huge popularity and awareness upswing

The Picture Clue books are based on the traditional "rebus Reader" - using a picture as a tool for learning a word. On the sample spread, you can see where a picture is substituted for a word. This gives a young reader a sense of pride that she is "reading" the story. All pictures and vocabulary are on flashcards at the end of the book.

The gang is looking for ((pirate)) ((treasure)).
But where's ((Scooby))? It's another mystery!

My daughter really enjoyed taking part in the story by identifying the shapes in the text. We love Scooby-Doo at our house!

Scooby-Doo and his pals are on a picnic and discover a map in a book that sends them on the hunt for a pirate treasure. Of course, Scooby manages to get lost while being chased by a bee and birds and entangled by kites. He inadvertently leads the gang to the treasure, but it is not what they thought it would be. This Scooby-Doo Picture Clue book contains text and picture clues, like rebus picture books of the past. Young and emerging readers might enjoy sharing this story with the help of an adult or older student reader. It would be a good choice for reading aloud with everyone chiming in at the picture clues.

It was funny when they thought Scooby was attacked by pirates but he was attacked by bees.
