If you like your romances on the side of lots of wanting, rather than lots of explicit sex, then this book may be one you would enjoy.
Zach Murphy, Sheriff of small town Parson County, an hour out of Denver, arrests a drunken driver who turns out to be Leia Shea, superstar rock star. It brings an unwelcome media frenzy down on his small town that continues long after Leia leaves. Trouble is, when Leia leaves she can't take with her Zach's thoughts and fantasies about her. Neither can she leave behind her thoughts and fantasies about him. Could a world-touring rock star be satisfied with a small town sheriff? Zach doesn't think so, but it doesn't stop him from wishing. Would a small town sheriff want to take on the craziness of a rock star's life? Leia doesn't think so, but it doesn't stop her from wishing.
This is a well-written, novella-length light read. Nothing to keep you awake at night but an enjoyable way to wile away a few hours.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4. A good romance read about a big female rock star passing through a small town in Colorado who takes a cold medication she's allergic to and gets arrested by the local sheriff who thinks she's under the influence. Cleared of those charges, the tired, overworked superstar likes the small town (and the sheriff) and buys the house for sale across the street from him to try and find some peace in her life.
Things get complicated between her and the sheriff who has a rebellious teenage daughter who at first is thrilled with a rock star living across the street but that turns to jealousy when she finds her father involved with the woman. It takes awhile for the sheriff to get his life in order, for the rock star to realize that she can be loved and can stand up for herself and for the daughter to realize that her father has a right to his own life.
It was a very good story about a rock star Leia having rock star problems and ends up in a small country town on thing leads to another, finds her self in love with this small town that makes her remember her childhood. She falles in love with the sheriff that arrested her a few months back. Zack has and a town, family and a stubborn 12 year old daughter to protect from some one like Leia. His feelings get caught in the cross fire and now he has to break the walls around his heart and let Leia know his true feelings towards her. He helps her in her time of need when she finds out her long time manager takes her to the cleaners. Zack, his brothers, his aunt, daughter even their small town will stand behind Leia because she is one of their own and will protect her from the outside world.
I really liked this story. It was stimulating, funny, and sexy. I just found it so believable. I thought about some of the current pop divas that would love the chance to just get away and find a hot sexy guy that loved you for you and not the fame and fortune. Zach was just that man. It was very touching to see the bond between Leia and Zach’s family. I imagined Brittany Spears as Leia with all the drama she has gone through over the years and now she is in a peaceful place in her life. I liked that Leia was a strong diva and she knew what she wanted. The ending was great!
Another great romance novel by Patti Ann Colt. Zach the sheriff arrests Leia for being intoxicated, but it was all a mistake. Leia was a well known rock star and this brought the media down on Zachs small town. A few months later Leia returns to apologize to Zach. He tries to fight the attraction. Anything else and the book will be spoiled.
I really enjoyed this book. Maybe not great literature, but it sure was great fun. A couple of steamy sex scenes, that I can take or leave, the rest maybe a fairy tale feeling that I absolutely loved. I loved the town, I loved the people, and I loved Fiona and the Murphy brothers. I really loved the rock star.
The Rock Star’s Sheriff is an absolutely charming story that pulls the reader deep into the heart of the Murphy family. To read my review in its entirety, please visit http://www.bookreviewsandmorebykathy....
