Counting with Oswald is a delightful counting book! The story opens with Oswald and Weenie heading to the park. On their way to the park, Oswald's friends provide him with all of the tools necessary to ensure a great time. As Oswald and Weenie receive these "gift" the reader is able to count along and witness the kindness and generosity that Oswald receives from his friends. This book is illustrated beautifully and the colors invoke the reader's sense of sight. Teachers may use this book to promote interest in counting, tracing, socialization in small groups. Perhaps students might pretend to "go on" a picnic and count the items they place in the basket.
