This book is a travesty, I recommend saving your money.
To start, this is a book on female sexuality written by a male. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but there's so much misinformation, manipulation and naive stupidity about the female body, and his sublime thoughts about porn stars and prostitutes, you'll soon be laughing if you are old enough and have had enough experience with sexuality to understand your own body and the vast realm of women's sexuality.
The author begins the book by covering his ass. No one in China will likely know anything about this book, he says. All of the characters in this book are fictitious, and that includes, presumably, the mysterious Madame Lin who gave him access to the old tome he claims to be translating. So there's no way you can verify whether this book exists, and whether anything he's said about it is real.
So far as the "translation" goes, there's very little of it. The book includes small bits of this mysterious text, and liberal doses of the author's interpretations which are clearly based on what "he thinks" or "imagines" or "feels" or "believes". He makes frequent vague comments about all of these archaic female-as-oral-sex-slave models of feminine sexuality being backed up by modern scientific studies, but naturally he provides no sources, dates or proofs of any kind. He cannot because these scientific studies don't exist anywhere except in his imagination.
Women are encouraged to become as prepubescent looking as possible, and to also adopt the attitude of prepubescent girls - especially when performing unprotected fellatio on their knees for one of the hundreds of strange men (green dragons) she must seduce in order to achieve longevity.
What is the secret to enduring female beauty and potential immortality? Why, it's male semen, of course! According to the author, the male sperm renews and restores a woman's energy - but only if swallowed! Also, the author claims, and invokes some mysterious, unreferenced study conducted in Jerusalem, that semen will renew, replenish and heal female skin cells. But ONLY the cells of the face, neck and breasts! How convenient. AND, semen will not heal or restore male skin - instead it will cause rashes, acne, and withering of other male's skin, according to the author.
It may surprise the other females reading this review to learn that your greatest sexual stimulation and fulfillment occurs when you fellate men. While he does acknowledge that clitoral stimulation is very arousing to females, he claims that we can't reach orgasm through penetration. I realize this is true for a lot of women, but it is not true for all. I know this from personal experience. Clitoral stimulation is, of course, amazing. However, a deep body orgasm that comes as a result of skilled and connected penetration can be one of the most profound, body wracking, mind blowing orgasms possible. Because so few men really bother to take the time to learn how to please women in this way, I think that last comment may seem incomprehensible to many women.
My point is that this male author doesn't know the female body. He has his own agenda and he's working over time to convince women that they should adopt his program. To do this he also uses common proselytizing techniques. He suggests that only the few, special women will be able to follow this path, and that these women will become superior to other women. He even goes so far as to quote a supposed White Tigress devotee, a woman (who may be fictitious, or even an adolescent) who clearly has an atrociously low self-esteem, that her life now has meaning and happiness since she is performing fellatio on as many guys as she can seduce. She also claims that it is her main weight loss method. Pathetic.
The whole book conveys the message, page after page, and in myriad ways, that a woman simply has no value past the age of adolescence. Her only value is in her youth and beauty - her ability to be sexually pleasing to men; men who presumably are incapable of feeling sexual arousal for grown up, mature women. There is no encouragement to cultivate the mind. The White Tigress acolyte is to spend much of her time cultivating saliva, exercising, possibly meditating (but he says Tigresses can forgo this step), and finding men to perform fellatio on. By doing this she will be able to draw sexual energy from males and achieve a youthful appearance, health, and, potentially, immortality. One has to ask herself why such a life would be worth living and extending, anyway.
The ideas, whether real or fictitious, clearly spring from a time when women had to figure out how to survive in a world where they had no rights, no property, and were utterly disposable. I hope China has changed a great deal since then, but I'm aware that a great amount of sexism and abuse towards women still exists. And now Hsi Lai is bringing it to your shores.
There's so much else; while there are some historically interesting aspects to this book, and perhaps even some exercises worth investigating, hardly a page goes by with some absurdity or another. I've already gone on too long, but I can't help but mention one other thing.
This male Taoist, a man dedicated to preserving his semen so he can reabsorb it into his Dan Tien and eventually create a spiritual embryo with which he can rebirth himself, evidently spends a good deal of time watching porn or engaging the services of sex workers. This make's sense - he wants to arouse himself to reabsorb the semen...and so forth. But he doesn't seem to understand what is going on in the world of prostitutes and porn stars. He actually compares these women to White Tigresses, and believes they are actually having orgasms when they perform. Some are, no doubt, but it's pretty clear to women how contrived so much of it is. Also, since he seems to have such a fascination with prepubescent females, I worry that he's not watching real porn stars at all. He also claims that the reason prostitutes and porn stars age so rapidly is because the sexual intercourse with males is depleting them of their vital energy. He doesn't seem to realize, first of all, that not all porn stars and prostitutes age more rapidly than other women, presuming any do at all. Nor does he realize that those who seem to be aging rapidly are probably women who are also using drugs and alcohol to dampen the reality of a life they can't stand. (Not true of all sex workers - but it is true of some). Finally, in the world of sex work, there is a lot of cross-over between stripping and sex work. Strippers, who get regular workouts and who are not ravaged by drugs, actually tend to look young for their ages. Why? Because they are getting a hell of a workout. And while I doubt very much that science will prove that fellatio and semen will forestall the aging process, there IS abundant evidence from multiple studies that regular physical exercise will - for both males and females.

There are many concepts regarding Tao that I think are kinda mislead. Tao it's about balance and transcending duality, not about stealing Chi from the opposite gender or retaining it stagnated to acquire immortality. The same either for sex and/or love have to be conceived as symbiotic relationships and not as vampiric/parasitic relationships. It is clearly written by a guy that loves getting fellation and wanted to write a book disguised as mystic to encourage more fellatrixes in the world. There is nothing wrong with liking a blowjob, I personally am a guy like million others that love it, just that it's stupid and offensive (in the sense that you as author would think there is naïvity in women as to believe all this B. S. and create armies of Blowjob Queens) to write a book with the pretext of empowering women through fellation and submission. I do understand that there are women that love giving fellatios also, not only as to give a special treat to his lover: one thing is the like for it and another is to think that it can make you powerfull...

The opening section is not the most enticing introduction to a women, especially if they are coming from a western background with modern ideals of feminism and what that power is/ should look like. Like many who were put off by the writer's tale of how he came to be the practices transcriber I was incredibly annoyed by some of the tales but the more it moved away from his personal diatribes to the practices the more it seemed to be that there were a lot more correlations to edging and BDSM submissive practices of power through letting the other believe the fantasy that they have the control that I could get behind. In many ways I find the book a fascinating connection to the ways women have used sexual practices to survive and even thrive through history as it is true that male dominated society has marginalized sexual openness and practices especially for women as a negative whether or not it was connected to money. It reminds me a bit of the way orchids often work with insects to entice them into carrying their pollen to other plants. The plant really holds the power but the bugs are doing all the work.
As for the validity of the power of semen as a health serum or not I can't say its any weirder than how the beauty industry uses placenta, embryonic cells or other animal products to make people younger so I am a bit inclined to believe it more than disbelive it. And in the end even if it's purely a placebo the power of the mind is a pretty impressive thing.

A book written by a male that holds the secret to empower females by having them focus years of their life on pleasuring males, and justifies it by claiming to be ancient hidden knowledge that you'll never come across in the traditional path. Suspension of disbelief is for fiction, not non-fiction. Terrible book, only gave it one star because I'm not sure it counts zero.

One of the better books I’ve read on the Tao, solely because it offers a different perspective on an ancient philosophy. Most of the books I’ve read on the matter focus on general application of themes or on practices to enhance male adepts’ Qi, and sometimes do they allude to female practices but rarely do go in detail. This book does just that: focus on the essential yin energy of females. Whether you agree with the text or not it is undeniably refreshing to read a different perspective.

this book contained a lot of outdated, purely incorrect, harmful information and ideology about the female anatomy & sexuality. the very strict conformity to gender roles made it hard to read and made me cringe at times. but it was interesting to learn about different forms of taoist sexuality & polyamorous ways of life

I read Memoirs of a Geisha years ago and found it fascinating. The traditions and beliefs of White Tigress training is a similar type of Eastern practice that empowers the female presence without compromising her moral or spiritual virtues. This is an interesting concept in acknowledging sexual energy with spiritual energy.
White Tigress women find ways to grow spiritually in seeking immortalessness through their devoted sexual practices. Being submissive, and quiet are practices that are not sexual in nature but will stimulate the appeal of these women to men. "Hsi Lai" means "westerner" -- a pseudonym. In the book he says he's from "our Western culture." The purpose of the White Tigress disciplines, he says, is health, youthfulness, beauty, longevity, and "spiritual immortality." Immortality seems a pretty questionable goal to me for a spiritual practice. These passages leapt out at me: "If there was one key principle to being a Tigress, submissiveness was it. [p. 213] "Tigresses found that submissiveness was a much more effective tool for controlling men than direct confrontation or a demanding attitude." [p. 214] "Religion always entails being submissive, wherein you must entrust your entire being in order to surrender and communicate with your god." At this point, disgusted, I gave up on this book.

An interesting book that claims to be the account of the sex practices of ancient asian women designed to maintain their youthful vigor.
Considering that these practices mostly involve the woman giving endless numbers of blowjobs and then smearing her partner's semen all over her face while at the same time limiting the amount of sexual intercourse she can engage in, I don't know of many modern women who will try them!
