This is my first time of purchasing parenting book and i'm not disappointed. Now i'm in my 22 and single, this book is really give an insight about become a father for my kids in the future. Reading this from pregnancy until your child become adult is really heart-warming, even though i still don't understand on how to become a father especially when you don't know your own reality in the future. Will this book become relevant? i don't know, but it gives all you need to know.
Armin A. Brott experience as a father of three and ongoing research over the years by reading hundred of books and science articles, interviewing people, and gathering important information is absolutely outstanding. You will learn about your child mentally and physically and other unexpected events that probably occur during your life. The way he describes it into table form s and point of bullets of each child growth over the years is very well-written.
I recommend this book for someone who still worry about their parenthood of becoming a father.
I saw a couple of reviews on this book, in a newspaper in Mexico City, and decided to pick up a copy because both reviews were very positive. Besides, I recently became a father so this could be helpful.
In general, the book is enjoyable to read but it has one shortcoming in my opinion.
As a father of a one year old boy, I thoroughly enjoyed the pertinent chapters and could relate to what I read. The other chapters (puberty, teens, leaving home.....) were not very interesting, for me at least.
I now think that if you want to read about being a father, you should look for a book dedicated to fathers with kids the age of yours. In other words, the book is way too ambitious.
It has to be very difficult to describe what it is to be a father, of children of absolutely any age, and have people relate to the reading.
The book makes a few good points about kids the same age as mine and I enjoyed it, but it tries to summarize too much in just a few pages.
