Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).

She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!

But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.

5 Triple Goddess moons!
After reading the first part of Chloe's story, I was hooked! Which is saying aomething, because as an author I am very short on reading time. This mini-series so to speak is absolutely perfect for me! Jennifer's writing is very visual and draws you into the story on the first page. So much so, that I had to buy the print of the omnibus. There are 6 parts in totality. I have them all on my kindle and the signed print on my shelf! Kudos Jennifer!!!

* I will be reviewing these books all together so the rating reflects all three books. Possible spoilers ahead*

After reading books after books over the past few weeks, I felt like I needed a break to read something short, fun and easy. Trying to pick the book was the hard part but when I seen the author was giving away FREE copies away of part one of this series, I suddenly knew which series to try. And I got exactly what I wanted with The Vampire Hunter's Daughter.......a short, fun and easy read!

This story follows the life of a young girl named Chloe who one night watches her mother be killed....right in front her. When Chloe awakes she's been taken to a safe haven where she quickly learns it's her grandfather’s house and that the people that killed her mother aren't humans but vampires. Chloe also find out that she comes from a long line of Vampire Hunters who protect people from vampires but how can Chloe be a hunter when she's a half-vampire? Now knowing who she really is Chloe is determined to to seek revenge on her vampire father for killing her vampire hunter mother but first she needs to train and train hard to become the best.

As Chloe starts training with help from Drew, it’s not long before she encounters her first vampire since her mother's murder and even though she knows what to do, she freezes leaving Drew to save the day. She now knows she needs to train harder than ever and when she does it's obvious that she is more advanced than any other hunters. Maybe being half vampire hunter and half vampire isn't so bad after all?

The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter books are fast paced and exciting short stories. This really isn’t a series I’d recommend if you want something long or complicated, it is what it is and short stories are always going to be short stories. Now I think the author; Jennifer Malone Wright did a really good job introducing Chloe. Chloe’s life is turned upside down when her mother is murdered and it was captured within the first few lines. Now Chloe as a character, I thought she was strong and easy to like, I did think she was a little rash at times. Like the way she reacts to Drew but I think that’s her trying to hide her feelings. Do I smell a possible romance brewing? I hope so because I think adding the romance aspect into the story now would be great. Drew’s a great character too but I’d like to get to know him a little more, he’s kind of in the back-ground at the moment helping Chloe train so I’d like to see them interact that much more.

The storyline is exciting but at times a little too easily resolved and a little predictable but nonetheless still enjoyable. I almost wish the novels were bigger so we could connect to the characters that much more but again that would defeat the point of them being short.

Overall, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter books have had a great start and I’m eager to see what comes next.

Thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to review these books.

I liked Part 2 of this series of short stories better than Part 1. In the beginning of the story, we learn that Chloe is already training to become a vampire hunter. We also become better acquainted with the characters and begin to see her bonding with these people, who she has only just met. In Part 2, we also begin to learn more about the myths and legends surrounding vampire hunters. Overall, this was a great short story. If you enjoyed the first one, you’ll like this one, too.

I had read Part 2 of Vampire hunter's daughter before it came out Thanks to the wonderful Jennifer Malone Wright. In the first story Chloe mother is killed by vampires and Chloe is sent to live with her grandfather who she never knew. Chloe learns her father is a vampire and she is from a line of vampire hunters. Part 2 takes place with Chloe already living with her grandfather and is in training with Drew to be a vampire hunter but with it being winter and xmas is coming Chloe is allowed to have Drew take her shopping out of her community to get some items every young teen girl needs. After a productive day of shopping Chloe and Drew are almost attacked by a newborn vampire. Chloe is in shocked to see Drew as a real vammpire hunter. It also bring realization to what Chloe is with out her mother there to help guide her. Chloe is scared with what she has face. I believe Chloe is strong enough to handle it and did need some reality to what her job will entail and when she finally is able to take revenage on her mother killers she will be strong fighter. Thanks Jennifer for the books

hea y'all Anne here and what an amazing series this is to read. It's like watching a tv show, you get a little at a time and it's always just enough to keep you coming back to see what is in store for our young heroine Chloe. Chloe has not had an easy time the last few months, her life has taken a dramatic turn and now she must deal with the present problems in order to solve a future issue she sets up for herself. The character Chloe is still very young and craves the innocent little joys of life but she also has been forced to grow up and now craves revenge as well. The characters are supportive and fun, their personalities create conflict and yet compliment each other so nicely. I loved Part 2 and the whole series.. 5 out of 5 stars for The Vampire Hunters Daughter Part 2 by Jennifer Malone Wright.

"This whole series is TERRIFIC! A great read hands down!! I was hooked (line & sinker) after the very first one! I began with the Part I (free version) & immediately went to purchase Part II-V. Then I was totally bummed to see part VI was not yet released. Eagerly awaiting the release I found myself needing a Wright fix, so back to search I went. I about jumped for joy to see her novel The Birth of Jaiden! It's a must read as well!! She brings such life into her characters & builds this story that sucks you in completely! Every book left me wanting more without making me feel like the ending was incomplete. She definitely has a knack for this! ;-) You will NOT regret reading this! I look forward to reading many many more writings by this author!!!!
Updated....Read Part VI the day it came out & I am now on pins & needles waiting for the new Arcadia Falls series!!! ;-D "

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
High five to Jennifer Malone Wright for another easy to read short story. In this instalment we learn some background information about the vampire hunters. Some very interesting information that was rather shocking if I do say so myself. Despite this being a short story, it was packed with emotion. The only downside was I did find it a little toned down from book one. But no the less still a great read. Obviously I will be continuing this series. I would recommend the series to vampire/ vampire hunter lovers. You will not be disappointed.

I am so sad that I have had this book for over a year and it just sat in my Kindle, sadly, waiting for me to open it and read it.

Gah! I am such a crazy person sometimes.

I hate it when I have no idea that a wonderful series is just sitting there, waiting for me to get my act together and start it.

I am so glad that the author nudged me into starting it. If I hadn't who knows how long it would have sat there and I would have been missing out.

I love discovering series that are just fabulous and yet unknown. I love spreading the word about them.

And this is quite the series. Right away we are swept into the story with a whirl wind of non stop action as Chloe's whole life is about to take a drastic change and secrets are revealed.

After she witnesses the brutal murder of her mother by vampires and saved by another group of vampire hunters, Chloe learns there was a lot she didn't know about her mother's life and even her own.

She finds out that not only was her mother a vampire hunter from a prestigious blood line and one of the best there were but that her father also happens to be a vampire and he has been searching for her since the day she was born.

If that wasn't weird enough she is thrown into a new town and home, a community especially designed for vampire hunter where she learns she has a grandfather she never knew existed and that she too, will be training to take her mother's place in the family line.

Yep, her world is about to change.

This is such a fun series and I love that it is broken up in parts (may sound strange to some, I know) I love that I can read it when I don't have a whole lot of time and still get something action packed and that will leave me eager to start the next installment. And each installment just keeps getting better and better.

I do have to warn you though, this will be a series that you will want more than one part before you start it because, one just won't be enough. And the great part? you can try the first part in this series for free, you can purchase it on Amazon and Smashwords free of charge. Pretty fabulous right?

So what are you waiting for, go out, give it a try. You won't regret it!

I give this series a very solid 4 Stars and can't wait to read more!!!

I decided to do a review on all three of these books, as they are only small novellas and I read them one after another in one sitting.

I first heard about this series from a few of my friends on Goodreads and decided to check them out on Amazon, seeing how cheap they were I went ahead and bought them.

I got sucked into the story right away, and like I said I read them all back to back! All three books are captivating and well written. The main character Chloe does seem very mature for her age, I did have to keep reminding myself that she is only 14, and not 16 or 17 as the main characters in most YA usually are.

The story line follow Chloe as she witnesses her mother's murder before her very eyes, by vampires. Not just any vampires of course, ones sent to kidnap Chloe and take her back to her father. Having no clue about her father, Chloe soon comes to realise that he is a vampire and suddenly all the moving about she has had to do over the years makes sense, her mother has been trying to protect her.

Safe from the vampire in her newly acquainted grandfather's house, Chloe begins to learn that her mother was a vampire hunter, and a pretty darn good one at that. Which also makes Chloe very unique, she is the offspring of a vampire and a vampire hunter, what on earth could that mean for her future?

I really enjoyed these books, they are well written, easy to follow and the story is unbelievably easy to get caught up in. So caught up in fact I didn't ever hear my phone ringing 3 separate times while I was reading these!
Chloe is a great main character, she is lovable and easy to relate to. She is the kind of main character I love in YA books, young but mature for her age, courageous but also a little insecure at times. All of these qualities make her seem more real to the reader.

The plot line is something fresh in the YA Paranormal market, vampire books are usually mostly always have the same concepts but these books are something different and unusual.
I especially liked the twist about Chloe's heritage and cannot wait to find out what happens in book 4!

Wow, I am not sure what to say about this second book in "The Vampire Hunter's Daughter" Series. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it; but, I expected it to be a book and not another novella. Just as I was really getting into the story, it was over leaving me to say, "Huh?"

Chloe has been living with her Grandpa Luke and trying to adjust to her new life among the vampire hunters. She runs every morning, showers, goes to school and then trains after school for two hours. After being handed her butt day after day by Drew, she has had enough and storms off to the library to learn more about the vampire hunter's evolution. She realizes that she needs more information. Later, Drew drops a bombshell and explains that had she asked he could have told her that Luke was an expert in their culture as well as in her family lineage. Chloe and Luke talks while she builds up the courage to seek a job. Luke informs her that her mother left her financially well off and he would set up a checking account for her to take care of her personal needs.

After getting into a fight at school, Chloe realizes that she must obtains some winter gear (boots, gloves, hats etc.). Drew takes her to the mall where upon leaving they encounter a newly turned vampire who decides to make a little snack out of a human. Chloe is traumatized by the event and vows that she will not be caught off guard again and that she will begin taking her training a lot more seriously.

Once again, I enjoyed this story but it was just too short. I hope that the next book is a full length book. By the way, if this series is of interest to you, do yourself a favor and purchase the 3 book set for $1.75 at amazon.com. It contains Part I, II, and II.

And the series of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter continues with book 2, POWERFUL BLOOD….

This review is going to be on the real short side, and I apologize for that, but I promise there is more to come right after this one. Thanks so much Author Jennifer Malone Wright once again for this fantastic opportunity to read for review this amazing series!!!

Chloe comes from the blood of angels, demi-gods and in her special case, a vampire…. Her blood is that which comes from the Original Vampire Hunters, and having such a strong mixture of blood has the potential to be VERY POWERFUL. (-:

Training now with vampire hunters for two months, she has sworn to herself that she was going to be the best- like her mother.
She runs the trails for 1 hour each morning, then school, then works out on the machines in the gym…. Then as Chloe would say got her butt kicked“ by Drew or one of the others for 2 hours. Plus twice a week she goes to the range to practice archery and shooting. Chloe proves to be a natural at both!!!

Part 2 also introduces Chloe more to the other hunters of the village (actually it‘s a city) where they live together away from others unlike them, keeping their secrets and roles unknown. What brings them all together, is their mutual responsibilities to protect humans from the vampires who would try to kill or turn them.

OK, I’ll be back in part 3.

Recommend: 17 and up
Rating: 5/5 angel stars

Short book=Short Review

Chloe has started to grow on me, though I am still a little put off by the "purely evil" nature of the vampires. (Religious thing, see my review of the first book here.) I do wish that these book were just a little longer so that we could see more of Drew and Chloe and Luke and well, everybody.

Still, I have downloaded the third novella and am enjoying it greatly! I like how Miss Jennifer incorporated all kinds of mythology, not just vampires. Too often we see writers that focus on just one mythical beast and completely ignore the thousands of others. This was an easy, light read that I would definitely recommend to my paranormal reader friends and I hope you'll check it out!

Note- THE VAMPIRE HUNTER'S DAUGHT PART I is always free on Amazon. Download it here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Vampire-Hun...

This is the second installment to the short stories series The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Chloe has been training to be a vampire hunter for about 2 months. Even though she has vampire hunter in her blood, the training is take a toll on her. Between training and school, she doesn't have time for anything else. She is beginning to learn about her heritage, how it all started, but has come to realize that she has lots more to learn. She has and encounter with her first vampire since her mothers death and if it wasn't for Drew, she may have not made it out alive. She realizes that she has much more training to do and vows that she will become the best hunter she can.

I love the series so far. I can't wait to see what the next installment holds.

The second part of this series was great :) Again, I wish we'd been able to get a bit more character development, but that aspect of it was betting in this installment. I loved that when Chloe sees the vampire in the parking lot, she sits in the truck and screams. I was waiting for that burst of superpower or courage that a lot of writers would have thrown in. This was much more beleivable. I can't wait for the third story to see what happens next.

I loved this installment of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. The author pulls you in and keeps you addicted to the story line with awesome twists and turns. This segment has all of the suspense and action that the first installment has, so if you're ready for some crazy fight scenes you have to check this series out! I can't wait to see what happens to Chloe in the 3rd installment! I recommend this story to anyone who likes a bit of a twist on the everyday vampire/hunter story line :)

Second short story part in a five part series I believe. Really enjoy these ebooks. Wish they would have put all the ebooks together, and release it as a whole book. I believe it would have done really week in book form. Again only about 46 pages, which can drive you crazy sometimes. But the way they are writing, you find your self buy the next ebook as soon as your done. A well recommended, easy, short read. ~ENJOY!

I liked how the series seems to progress in this installment. I loved the little bits from the library books. Also I think I like the writing style a little better in this one. Overall a good read! :)

These are incredibly short stories. Not even all three parts together made hundred pages on my nook. The story is light and easy, and a breeze to slide through. I like the plot and characters, but see potential in this author. Look forward to seeing what she will have in the future, and hope to see a slightly longer story.

The MC has accepted her present circumstances and is now trying to live up to her mother’s reputation. The benchmark is high and she has much to learn about her new life not to mention the maturity it takes to be responsible. This part definitely builds more foundation to the storyline and is very much necessary. For a quick read it still maintained my level of interest. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
