De oudste verhalen zijn in 1929 geschreven en dus wat gedateerd, maar verbazend weinig! Miss marple en Hercule Poirot zijn typetjes die wat mij betreft garant staan voor succes en dat is met deze verhalen niet minder, ook al kende ik ze al en weet dus de clou. Je kunt van de manier waarop het beschreven is, nog meer genieten als je niet aan het nadenken bent wie het gedaan zou kunnen hebben.

"After the Funeral" had a very unexpected ending! The story took off with the death of Mister Abernethie. The old man had died from natural causes. A day later another member of Abernethies family is murdered. The lawyer of that family asks Poirot to investigate those cases. Soon, another person gets poisoned. The plot thickens with every page! The ending is just mind-blowing!
"4.50 from Paddington" was also a thrilling story about a rich family that finds a dead body of an unidentified woman in their barn. Soon, family members start to die ...

Agatha Christie as only Agatha Christie can be. A pleasure to read, and certainly in the longer novels there is an unexpected twist in the plot. Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple, they both have their own type of story.
