The first complete collection of the major writings of the visionary French conceptual artist YVES KLEIN to be published in English translation. Klein was an artist with a keen philosophical mind, yet deeply spiritual. In his art and in his writings he constructed a vision of the future art that would purify the soul from the ashes of his painting. Translated, with an introduction by KLAUS OTTMANN
Klein is inspiring in his commitment to the VOID. This book, as a collection of his writings and speeches, should not be read cover to cover unless you prefer for things to be asserted in constant repetition. The Rosicrucian ideal of surpassing physical presence and his rejection of ownership are pretty rad and interesting. His work is so beautiful, and it benefits from conceptual explications.
One of my favorite artists. Most of it is like a journal about his concepts and exhibited work. It's been a couple years but I find that I can flip it open randomly and still get sucked into 'the void'. His passion and magnetism is always inspirational.
