Here is practical, sensitive advice for the employee, boss, coworkers, and friends. A.D.D. on the Job suggests advantages that the A.D.D. worker possesses, how to find the right job, and how to keep it. Employers and coworkers will learn what to expect from a fellow worker with A.D.D. and the most effective ways to work with them.
Insightful and generally helpful since the author has ADD herself. I like the fact that she mentioned various situations to perfectly lay out her points. The part that I didn't like is the fact that despite her ADD, the manner in which the chapters were broken down were too lengthy most of the time. Since the book is supposed to cater to adults with ADD, that should have been one of the considerations. I was deliberating whether I should press on reading the book as I normally finish one chapter on a daily basis, or to switch to another book altogether. It's a good thing my desire to better manage myself has won out in the end, or I would have ended shelving back the book.
Very validating for a recent adult diagnosis. a great place to begin if your ADD has really held you back on the job. I'm going to seek out something that is more of a workbook, practical skills type of resource, but this is a good overview of things to think about to get yourself to be more self aware of what your needs are and what general changes would be good to make.
