36 books68 followersRick Murcer lives in Michigan and like many in that part of the country lost his job in 2008 due to a decline in the economy. An experienced executive, he sent out over 600 resumes without success. With unemployment benefits waning and savings nearly depleted he did the only logical thing he could think of...decide to become a writer.
Fortunately for Rick, he defied all conventional wisdom about self-publishing and literally became an overnight sensation. His first three books Caribbean Moon, Deceitful Moon, and Emerald Moon sold more than 300,000 copies between April and October 2011. He had two books in Amazon's top ten for many weeks and became both a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author.
Rick graduated from Michigan State University and is fairly new to the game of writing. Proving his knack for storytelling, the first piece he had ever written, Herb's Home Run, was published by The Writer's Journal in 2002. Rick attributes his success to hard work and God's blessing and believes that you can achieve any goal you wish if you just set your mind to it.

Someone is murdering the security employees of the Ocean Duchess. Security Chief Craig Richardson returns in this novel, number three in the Manny Williams series.
Dr. Frederick Argyle returns in this book too. He is back to creating his own brand of mayhem. He is in Galway, Ireland and up to his old tricks. Detective Steve Shannon and Sergeant Detective Paddie Harris are on the case there. Shannon and Harris are interested in Argyle, but they are not sure just why.
Eleven months after the death of his wife Louise in the last book, Detective Manny Williams and his daughter Jennifer are on their way to a Caribbean cruise. Going with them are Detective Sophie Lee and forensic chief Alex Downs. Not only are they going for fun (on Jennifer’s part), but to investigate the killings of the security people for the cruise lines. Just as they are ready to leave for their flight to Miami, FBI Special Agent Josh Corner and friend calls Manny to tell him of the murder of Richardson. It seems he has become a statistic just like his cohorts at cruise line security.
The team meets up with the FBI agents and some Miami detectives in Miami. They go about setting up their investigation. With four employees of the cruise line murdered, now the pressure is increasing and the tension mounts. After Manny and Chloe’s scrutinizing of the files, they come up with a possible suspect. When that ends with somewhat mixed results, it’s time for Manny, Jen, Sophie and Alex to head to the cruise liner for their vacation adventure.
When Maddie and his wife are mutilated and murdered, Shannon vows to nail the vicious killer of so many people, not just his friends.
Enjoying the start of their cruise, Manny is interrupted by Josh and Max. Argyle has been located in Ireland and is taunting them once more.
After a frantic chase around Galway and more killings, it comes to an end.
This is a very well written and plotted novel. It is both exciting and fast paced. The writing is taut and with no wasted words. The story has its surprises and disappointments. Very well done, Mr. Murcer! I can’t wait to dive into the next Manny Williams novel!

Emerald Moon (Manny Williams Seri Book 3)
Graphic, not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. Outstanding character portrayal and the scenery will have the reader booking a trip to Miami or Ireland or both. The hurt, pain and betrayal make for a great read. Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book in this series.

'Emerald Moon' was as thrilling and intriguing as the first two books in this series, if not more. The storyline was full of suspense, action, betrayal and gorgeous scenery. Well written. The way the story played out was awesome. I loved the twists that unfolded. As with the other books in this series there is a lot going on, but not so much that I was lost. The characters were great as always. Manny is such a magnificent lead. He is smart, personable and has a knack for solving cases that involve the most intricate puzzles. Sophie is hilarious as usual. She has such a great and flirty personality. Plus, she's smart and makes a great partner to have your back. I look forward to reading the next book. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended.

I just finished the third in a series Emerald Moon Danny Williams mystery and this was a terrific thriller. These three books are compelling in that you don't want to put them down. With a Kindle they are easy to read, that automatic bookmark is a great feature. As for the twists and turns, they are many. The cop data is pretty authentic and the torture administered by the villian is bloodcurdling. If you don't read them in order, its okay, as they each tell a good tale. Read them all, I am glad I did. The author is promising two more in the coming year and he did a masterful job in thrilling and chilling.

Not bad, but not memorable
A quick read that held my attention, but wasn't really gripping. It wasn't really clear how the arch enemy was able to recruit so many others to assist him in his master plan. Also, his rationale for hating the protagonist was pretty strained. However, even given these issues, I'll probably continue reading the series; partially because they're decent reads and partially because they're inexpensive.

Wow! Rick Murcer does not disappoint. I think this is the best of the three. Unfortunately the next Manny Williams book will not be out until the first quarter of 2012. I just really like the characters that he has created and will miss them for a few months.

Not as gruesome as his earlier writings, this is the 3rd in the series with the same characters. It read well with good plot and subplots. Murder, serial killer, cops, feebs, and mayhem from Miami to Ireland.

One little editing failure can really take the enjoyment out of a book because it makes you wonder if there others that you just don't notice: Galway Bay feeds into the North Atlantic, not the Irish Sea -- the Irish Sea is on the east coast of Ireland.

Had to finish the series... still way too much killing and not much purpose to some of them but did like the end...

I enjoyed this book, as I have enjoyed the other Manny Williams books. It is a quick, easy read. Great for the patio or beach.
