This is book three in the Spice Isle Bakery Mysteries but it was the first one I picked up and I wasn’t lost. It’s one of the things I like about cozy mysteries, I find the series order to be more flexible than most. I also love that cozy mysteries have a special interest, this one was the Caribbean bakery and while I didn’t get lost in the amazing food descriptions, I didn’t expect to based on the title (I’m allergic to coconut which was in most of the descriptions), but if I could have tried them I imagine they would have been delicious based on the other descriptors. Lyndsay feels she has given up amateur sleuthing. She only solved her first two murders because she and her mother had been suspected of committing those and that’s not likely to happen again. But when her cousin’s friend and possible love interest is killed at the Caribbean festival Lyndsay is shocked when the detective that had suspected her of murder asked for her help solving this one. The story was interesting and I listened to the audiobook and really liked the narrator, I thought she did a great job bringing Lyndsay and the rest of the characters to life.

3.5 stars, rounded up

Coconut Drop Dead is the third book in an enjoyable cozy mystery series featuring a family from Grenada who have opened a bakery in their Brooklyn neighborhood, Little Caribbean. The bakery is more than a traditional bakery because they serve traditional dishes such as “fish bakes” along with their Coconut Drop Cookies, Hard Dough Bread, currant rolls, and more. The stories are told from the POV of the main character, Lyndsay, the daughter of the family, who is not pleased to be referred to as “the Grenadian Nancy Drew.”

While it’s always good to read a series in order, I feel this one could easily be read as a standalone. There are references to her earlier crime-solving adventures, it’s not necessary to this story to have read about them. Unlike the second book, which was a kind of locked-room mystery, this one is far from that, as the death occurs in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park during a Caribbean Festival. At first the death is ruled accidental, but Lindsay’s cousin Manny had a “thing” for Camille, the lead singer of a locally popular reggae band, and he’s sure it was murder.

I loved how this book series highlights Caribbean culture and foods. The family members are a great support system, as they are all involved in the bakery - even Lyndsay’s older brother Devon, who is a lawyer but who was unhappy in his job. I was glad to see the growth in Lyndsay’s character; she has much more self-confidence now. Lyndsay’s grandmother is a terrific character, always sitting at a table in the bakery, crocheting, and joining in all the conversations.

One niggling annoyance for me - Lyndsay constantly refers to her parents as Mommy and Daddy; I don’t think there was a single sentence where it was simply “my parents”, for example. It just sounded childish to me, and Lyndsay is 27 years old. I had the same complaint in the first two books, so I guess the author is happy with it. The only other complaint is that there is too much description of what everyone is wearing, whether it’s relevant or not.

The author includes a couple of recipes at the end. Unfortunately it didn’t include the titular Coconut Drop cookies, which I had hoped for!

I bounced between the audiobook and the ebook for this title, which was very convenient, and why I flew through the story so fast. The audiobook was beautifully narrated by Janina Edwards, who did a great job with all the voices and accents.

Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of this book and to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to an advance copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

I think this cozy mystery series is really fun. The heroine is a Black Caribbean woman living in Brooklyn and running a bakery with her family. She keeps getting caught up these murder investigations though! In Coconut Drop Dead, the lead singer of a popular band (and the woman her cousin was crushing on) has died from a fall and it seems like she was pushed... This is exactly what I want when I pick up a cozy mystery- yummy sounding food, a somewhat twisty mystery, a romantic subplot, and a reluctant heroine. The audio narration is done well too. Definitely worth a try! I received an audio review copy of this book via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

Things are busy at Spice Isle Bakery. It's the annual Caribbean American Heritage Festival and the bakery is participating as a vendor. Lyndsay Murray is looking forward to the festival, the customers, and the music. But then tragedy strikes when Camille, a well-known singer of a reggae band, dies suspiciously. It is soon confirmed that she's been murdered. Despite getting ready for the festival, Lyndsay is also looking into the murder because her cousin Manny was dating Camille.

This is a fun cozy starring the Murray family and their very outspoken customers. It is great fun to watch every aspect of the case be discussed in detail at the bakery counter, whether Lyndsay wants to discuss it or not. The book is also filled with delicious descriptions of wonderfully spicy baked goods and a tempting recipe at the end. The mystery is interesting, even if it is not too hard to figure out. The special treats in this series are the family, their wonderful community of customers, and the way they interact with each other. Highly recommend to Cozy Mystery fans.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. My review is voluntary and the opinions expressed are my own.

"Tragedy hits Caribbean-American Festival." Lyndsay Murray, now called The Grenadian Nancy Drew, has a booth at the annual Caribbean-American Heritage Festival, which is a nod to her West Indian heritage. At the event, Lyndsay is requested to cater an exclusive wedding. Even before she can even think of the opportunity a reggae performer is found dead. What else is Lyndsay to do but to try and solve the murder itself? She is attracted to, but at odds with her high school crush, Detective Bryce Jackson. Lyndsay makes it more than clear that she intends on being involved with the case quite to Bryce's consternation.

Just like the first two books in this series, Against the Currant and Hard Dough Homicide , this third book in the Spice Isle Bakery Mystery series is quite enjoyable. Lyndsay's family is wonderful, and while her brother Dev is an attorney, I found it wonderful when he joined the family's bakery business. Then considering the diversity with the family's West Indian background, this was a well-rounded read.

Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Coconut Drop Dead is the third novel in the Spice Isle Bakery series. Though it is possible to read it as a standalone, I would recommend reading at least the first novel in the series as there are references in this latest novel to earlier murder investigations.

Like Matthews’ two prior Spice Isle series, the main character Lyndsay Murray gets immersed in a murder investigation with lead detective, Bryce Jackson. Only this time, Lyndsay isn’t a suspect but an assistant investigator. Together with Bryce, Lyndsay along with the rest of her family band together to solve the death of well known Calypso singer, Camille Abbey.

The characters are the mainstay of the novel with strong family values. And I loved how each of the characters have evolved since the inception of the first novel. They have all grown and have developed like fine wine — full bodied with character. And with this latest novel, the antagonism between Lyndsay and Bryce seem to be fading away. Is there a romance brewing? And, too, the rift between Jose’ the journalist and Lyndsay appears to be slowly coming to a close. Could there be a possible investigative team of Lyndsay, Bryce and Jose?

The plot like any cozy mystery follows a whodunit theme. But in a slow atmospheric pace. Clues slowly surface by a process of elimination until the perpetrator is revealed. And in the case of Coconut Drop Dead, it was somewhat of a surprise.

I really enjoyed Coconut Drop Dead. It was a quick read with a Carribean flair. And as a bonus, like Matthews’ other novels, there are a couple of Carribean recipes at the end to enhance that West Indian vibe. Five Stars.

I was invited to read the DRC from St. Martin’s Press through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

Dollycas's Thoughts

The Murrays have been going to the Caribbean American Heritage Festival for years. This year with the opening of their Spice Isle Bakery they are excited to be one of the event's food vendors. Lyndsay Murray had the dream of working with her family and opening a bakery featuring West Indian foods. While they have had a few bumps along the way, they have built a solid following. She hopes the festival will bring even more customers their way.

The bakery's booth was busy and people were enjoying the live music until the lead singer of an up-and-coming reggae band had a fatal fall. Lyndsay's cousin Manny knew the singer and while the police think her death was an accident, he believes someone pushed her. After Lyndsay's success in solving other murders, he asks her to help find the person responsible for his friend's death.  She knows Detective Bryce Jackson won't be happy with her butting into his case but she believes he isn't taking her concerns seriously, so she has no choice but to do some investigating on her own. The killer isn't going to be happy she is investigating either.

_____

You can't help but get behind the Murray family. They are a close family who come together every day to realize Lyndsay's dream. Her parents and grandmother do most of the baking but Lyndsay's baking skills are improving under her grandmother's tutelage. When not in the kitchen Granny holds court at a table between the kitchen and the customer area of the restaurant. Her brother Dev, has left his stressful law career for now to help at the bakery. Everyone, in this family, is dedicated to their heritage and just plain nice and willing to help anyone.

We are getting to know Detective Detective Bryce Jackson and Detective Stanley Milner better as well. Lyndsay had a crush on Bryce in high school and now he seems interested in her but with him putting her and her family on his suspect list whenever there is a murder her brain has no desire to date the man. Her heart may be a different story. I am so pleased by the way these characters continue to develop in realistic ways.

I enjoyed that the theme of this story is the Caribbean American Heritage Festival. I love learning about different cultures and their traditions. The Murray family is immersed in their culture and shares their love of their Grenadian roots through their food and the music played at the bakery. The descriptions of the food will truly make your mouth water and the music can be uplifting. Two pudding recipes can be found at the end of the book.

I was really surprised that Bryce asked for Lyndsay's help with the case. He has finally realized that people in her community would open up to her better than talking to the "bo-bo". Plus he knows she is not going to stop investigating and the best thing would be working together. Lyndsay accompanying Bryce when he interviewed persons of interest and suspects was a nice twist. She asked great questions and picked up on things he may have missed.

I did have my own lists of suspects and enjoyed following along with Lyndsay as she worked through all the clues. I can happily report that I had the correct person at the top and wasn't exactly surprised by the killer's justification of their crime. They hurt a lot of people and need to be locked up and are in need of counseling too. I really enjoyed the takedown and the way the case was discussed to tie up any loose ends. I loved the final paragraphs as well. I can't wait for the next Spice Isle Bakery Mystery.

Coconut Drop Dead is a top-notch addition to this series. The core characters are so genuine and draw readers into this story and their lives so easily. I am invested in them and excited to see what Ms. Matthews has planned for them next. I highly recommend all three books in this series.

I received an advance copy via NetGalley.

Matthews created another fun cozy with her third entry in her Spice Isle Bakery series. I read and loved the first book, didn't get the second, but was able to jump into Coconut Drop Dead without any problem. That's the sign of a good cozy series for me: it's great if you can start at the beginning, but if you can pick up the later books and not get lost, you know you're in capable hands.

In this book, Lyndsay is excited that her family will have a food stand at Brooklyn's Caribbean American Heritage Festival. Her cousin Manny even seems to have something going for Camille, the lead singer of a popular local group. When Camille dies at the festival, Lyndsay is relieved that, for once, her family isn't suspected of murder by hot detective Bryce, but her heartbroken cousin is certain Camille's death is suspicious. Lyndsay, with the help of her wonderful family, sets off to investigate.

This book really hits the right balance between the cozy special interest (Caribbean foods) and the murder mystery. I'm not familiar with Caribbean culture, so I really enjoy learning about Lyndsay's Grenadian roots and the cultures of other people in the neighborhood. And man, I really want to try the coconut drops and other food! I think my only complaint is that there were no twists at the end. Really, though, a great book, and I'd happily read more in the series.

This was a fun little mystery! My first book by this author via kindle! thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s for the chance to read and review!

First, we love a book that highlights diversity! I really enjoyed the main character and her Caribbean background. I feel like the book did a really good job of incorporating family values, food and culture from the West Indies that I truly appreciated. The mystery itself was also fun to read. I could tell from the progression of the story that there are other books before this one that covered other mysteries that I would definitely be interested in reading. The book was easy to follow and was honestly a pretty quick read! I do wish the plot twist/villain reveal was a bit bigger, but that’s just because I’m a sucker for a massive plot twist.

I loved the humor that book provided as well. Granny physically made me laugh because she sounded just like my grandmother when it came to simply speaking her mind. Her character was beyond relatable. I also enjoyed how close Lyndsay and her family were. They were supportive and always a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen.

Overall, it was a fun, cozy mystery that left me satisfied with the ending and wanting to find the nearest bakery for some Caribbean pastries.

Thanks to St.. Martin's Press for the eARC.
I think that this is my favorite in this series. It was so good to be back with Lyndsay and her family in this bakery. I always enjoyed how tight knit this family was, and it was easy to slip back into this story with them. I think my favorite part of this book was seeing how much each character had grown. With the mystery, Lyndsay showed growth with her sleuthing, I liked how her family worked together for the best outcome for everyone. I don't read many cozy series, but I know I will always get a solid, well-plotted mystery with this one. I enjoyed every second and hope this isn't the last that I see of this family - if it is, the author ended on such a wonderful note.

#CoconutDropDead #NetGalley Lyndsay Murray is back in another fabulous book by Olivia Matthews.
The Caribbean American Heritage Festival is taking place and a well known band is taking center stage. Lyndsay's cousin Manny has a crush on the lead singer, and when she becomes the victim of a horrific crime, Manny begs Lyndsay to ask questions.
Lyndsay finds herself asking questions, which also brings her closer to Bryce, but also places her in harm's way.
I've really grown to love all the characters in this series, and I'm also enjoying learning about their culture and beliefs.
Little Caribbean sounds like a wonderful place to visit, and I can imagine myself swaying my hips while listening to music and deciding on what delicious treats I'd be trying.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.

Quick Summary: A beautiful tapestry mystery

My Review: Coconut Drop Dead by Olivia Matthews is associated with the Spice Isle Bakery Mysteries. It is installment #3.

About the Book: When the lead singer of a community favorite reggae band is murdered, the police decide to partner with a local sleuth in order to solve her case.

About the Characters: This cozy mystery was so incredibly rich with colorful characters. The description of the sights and sounds were woven into the story so effortlessly that it made it easy to get into. I loved the Caribbean/West Indian vibe, the Murray family, the minor players, and Lyndsay, Murray, most especially. The tie in with faith, family, and culture was a hit in my book.

My Final Say: Being able to read about the Caribbean American Heritage Festival celebration, the fantastic food profiles, the cultural etiquette, and the family dedication to one another made this reading experience even more amazing than I expected. I am hooked! Because I enjoyed this novel as well as I did, I plan to go back and read the previous books in the series ASAP.

Other: I think fans of this genre will love the Murrays and will heartily embrace Lyndsay Murray, amateur detective. I believe they will love the dynamic between Lyndsay and Detective Bryce Jackson. I am also convinced that they will appreciate the community camaraderie.

I really enjoy this series. Ms Matthews has a way of creating wonderful characters, a boisterous, loving family and a great outer community, all of which you feel comfortable in immediately. The family is so excited to act as a vendor at the Caribbean American Heritage Festival, they are enjoying success at the venue, enjoying the festival and are entertained watching Manny, who obviously has a relationship with the lead singer of the featured band, who has been recording in the studio where he works. When Camille is murdered at the Festival, Lyndsay is drawn into helping her cousin find justice for the women he was falling for. Can Lyndsay work with the police? Can she and Bryce make peace? Can Lyndsay and company find justice for Camille? You will be so glad you joined this quest!

Lyndsay Murray is thrilled when her bakery is accepted as a vendor at the annual Caribbean American Heritage Festival. With the help of her family, this event is sure to boost sales in her new shop.

Then, tragedy strikes. The festival turns from happy to sad in a matter of moments. The lead singer of the band performing at the event mysteriously dies. At first the police think it’s an accident, but Lyndsay’s cousin knew the singer well and is convinced she has been murdered. Lyndsay is determined to help her cousin and bring a killer to justice.

This is the third book in the series and it's one of my favorites. These are characters you can truly grow to love. I know I do. This is why it’s so important to start from book #1. It means so much more when you know about the Murray’s roots and what they are each striving to achieve. Each character is perfectly crafted and truly comes to life with each page.

The mystery gives us several potential suspects. I kept changing my mind as to “whodunit”, but one of the people on my list was the culprit. Lyndsay is a strong character and doesn’t back down from anyone, not even the police. More often than not, she seems to be one step ahead of them.

Of course, there’s a potential romance for Lyndsay with the local police detective, but they are taking it slow. It works well that way. It leaves me wanting more and that’s a very good thing.

It’s a fast-paced story with so many suspects your head will spin. The main theme with this series is family. The love and care for each other shines through the entire book. These feel like old friends, not characters in a book. I’m looking forward to another visit with the Murrays very soon. I’m already missing them.

FTC Disclosure: I voluntarily reviewed a free Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books for accepting my request to read and review Coconut Drop Dead on NetGalley.

This is the third book in the Spice Isle Bakery Mystery Series. It follows a Caribbean theme from the familial relationships to the food. Family is important and a priority among the base characters. This has remained consistent.

The book is simple. This is a cozy mystery. Discussing a murder feels incongruous. A murder happens, the family bans together, they eat, they sell food, do family things, and solve the mystery.

This would be a nice book for readers of all ages.

Wow what a case and I’m sure Lyndsay and her family were thrilled not to be suspects this time, but she was still up for some sleuthing. I love the camaraderie of this fun-sounding section of Brooklyn and how Lyndsay’s family was ready and willing to help out even if someone was a stranger.

Dev’s little side story turned out well and that was one exciting showdown. Did Lyndsay use her kickboxing skills in this killer showdown? You’ll have to read and see! I hope there’ll be more in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book, and my opinions are my own.

Coconut Drop Dead finds sleuth Lyndsay Murray investigating the death of a reggae singer to make sure the real killer faces the music.

Thank you Netgalley for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review! I thought this book was interesting and it was a nice, cozy story which is perfect to read during the holiday season. I didn’t read the first 2 books in this series but I felt like it read very well as a standalone book. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on any important information by not reading the first 2 books. However, I didn’t like this book very much. I felt like the story moved too slow at times and the ending felt rushed.

Lyndsay Murray and her family are busy with the Caribbean American Heritage Festival when Camille Abbey falls to her death down a flight of stairs. Camille is the lead singer of DratonFlyZ an up-and-coming reggae band. Lyndsay's cousin Manny was close to Camille and wanted to be closer. Lyndsay decides to look into the death to see if it was murder.

When Camille's death is judged to be murder, and the police seem to be taking their own sweet time to investigate, Lyndsay and her family decide to do their own investigations to answer their questions and help Manny grieve.

There are a number of suspects from the manager who was often at odds with Camille and the ex-boyfriend who was her fellow songwriter. Maybe the backup singer who was displaced for Camille had decided to get rid of the competition.

Besides investigating, Lyndsay is also busy with the upsurge in business the festival brought her bakery and the new catering opportunities the festival also brought. She's also wondering about her relationship with detective Bryce Jackson who seems to want to date her. But she still hasn't forgiven him for thinking that she was a murderer and worse that her mother was.

Lyndsay has changed a lot since she and her family opened the bakery. She has grown more self-confident and assertive. Successes at solving two mysteries have been good for her self-esteem, While this case has its complications, Lyndsay and her family are up to the task of solving the murder.

I enjoyed the vivid and colorful descriptions of the bakery with all of its wonderful spices. There were so many delicious sounding dishes served there. A couple of recipes are included at the end of this story.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of -- (Book – of the ---series) by – in exchange for an honest review. Lyndsay Murray, co-owner of the Spice Isle Bakery, is excited about being able to participate as a vendor in this year’s Caribbean American Heritage Festival. When the lead singer of a popular reggae band dies at the festival, Lyndsay is relieved that, for a change, no one is accusing her family of being murderers. However, Lyndsay is still called to investigate on behalf of a family member. Lyndsay’s cousin Manny had been growing close to the singer and believes she died due to murder rather than accident. Since it looks like the police are not going to look into the matter, Lyndsay and her family decide to check things out.

This is book 3 in the “Spice Isle Bakery” cozy mystery series. If you are unfamiliar with this series, it’s based in the Little Caribbean neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, and the main character, Lyndsay, owns a bakery with her family and is referred to (in this third book) as the “Grenadian Nancy Drew” of the area.

I liked that with book three, the author changed it up with the suspects because I wasn’t sure how it could keep going on in that direction with future books lol (keeping it vague for no spoilers). Also, it was nice that the police asked for her help officially. I liked this book the most so far, it had a few more twists and a little bit of romance starting to weave its way in. And as always, the food in this series always makes me so hungry! The author always includes two recipes at the end of the book, so this summer I’m going to try making some of the recipes she has shared.

Coconut Drop Dead written by Olivia Matthews, narrated by Janina Edwards, is a delightful and captivating cozy mystery that transports readers to the heart of Brooklyn's vibrant Caribbean American Heritage Festival. Set against the backdrop of the festival, with its lively atmosphere and tantalizing aromas, the story immerses you in the rich cultural tapestry of Little Caribbean.

The author, Olivia Matthews, skillfully integrates the festival's spirit into the narrative, infusing the story with the colors, flavors, and sounds of the event. As the co-owner of Spice Isle Bakery, Lyndsay Murray's enthusiasm for the festival is palpable, and readers will feel a genuine connection to her passion for sharing West Indian pastries and finger foods.

The sudden tragedy that strikes the festival with the untimely death of Camille, the lead singer of a reggae band, propels the story into an intriguing murder mystery. Matthews masterfully crafts a suspenseful plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. As Lyndsay's cousin, Manny, seeks her help in uncovering the truth behind Camille's death, readers are taken on a thrilling journey filled with unexpected twists and turns.

What truly stands out in Coconut Drop Dead is the seamless blend of mystery, cultural celebration, and familial bonds. This charming mystery not only entertains but also celebrates cultural diversity and the power of close-knit communities. (I received an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.) Olivia Matthews has crafted a story that is as flavorful and satisfying as the delectable treats featured in Spice Isle Bakery, leaving this reader eager for more of Lyndsay Murray's sleuthing adventures in the delightful world of cozy mysteries.

This is the third book in this fairly new series and I really enjoy the location of Little Caribbean in New York and I appreciate Lindsey‘s love of her family and culture. That being said, though, I find the writing a bit repetitive, and I, personally, enjoy some humor in my cozy mysteries. Lindsey, the protagonist, is a very serious person, and I find that I’m missing the little funny things commonly found in most cozy mysteries. The potential romance between her and her cop friend is moving so slowly that I’ve about given up on it. I will, most likely, continue with this series to see where it goes. Many thanks to the author, St. Martins Press and £NetGalley for my review, copy and exchange for a fair and honest review.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this title. This is the 3rd in the series.

Lyndsay Sands and her family are enjoying Spice Isle Bakery's first year as a vendor at the Caribbean Festival. Everything is going great until Camille, the lead singer of popular local band, DragonFlyZ is found dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs. At first, it appears to be an accident. Then Lyndsay's cousin, Manny, who was dating Camille, presents compelling evidence otherwise and convinces her to investigate.

I love this series, and this outing did not disappoint. The mystery was compelling. Lyndsay and her family continue to grow and develop. I just love the atmosphere of these books. The food and culture come off the page and make you feel like you're there.

I look forward to many more books in this series! All opinions are mine and freely given.

Every time I think I couldn't enjoy this series more, a new book releases to prove me wrong. We're finally getting the Caribbean American Heritage Festival, but there's trouble for our favorite baking family!
Whereas book 2 seemed to show our protagonist Lyndsay's growth on a professional level and with her boxing, I'd say this book shows a big leap with her role as a sleuth as well as her romance. The best part is that we see those two parts of Lyndsay's life tied together as she works with Bryce as a consultant for the NYPD. Seeing those two characters together was just wonderful and showed how much chemistry they have.
Also, I liked that we saw other members of the Murray family changing and growing since the last book. This series has a heavy focus on family, so it's lovely to meet more members and see how they change and react to the mysteries. I'm looking forward to reading how these side characters become even more layered.

The Caribbean American Festival is here. Lyndsay's bakery will be a vendor at the festival. The whole family is excited. The festival turned out awesome until there was an accident. The local reggae band's lead singer fell down the stairs. Manny thinks it was murder and requests Lyndsay's help to investigate. This book made me so hungry. I enjoyed this mystery and following the clues with the family. I really liked learning about the West Indies.

This is a fun cozy mystery set in the Little Caribbean neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. Lyndsay has a very close-knit family. I especially appreciated Granny and her stories as well as her faith in and support of Lyndsay’s efforts. The mystery itself was interesting, especially since Lyndsay was able to work a little more directly with the detectives this time around. I loved all the little things that built a sense of culture and community into the book like the reggae music, West Indian food, and the bakery regulars.

Note: This is the third book in the Spice Isle Bakery cozy mystery series and can be read as a standalone.
