New FBI agent in training Lucy Kincaid has finally made it into the Academy and things are going well. She’s become friends with a group and developed a great mentoring relationship with Supervisory Special Agent Tony Presidio who teaches one of her classes. When Presidio is contacted by an agent in New York regarding the murder of a true crime reporter who was researching one of his old cases, he includes Lucy as she had connections as well. What started out as something that felt like a routine inquiry turns into something highly sinister, threatening the Bureau from within.

Lucy’s finally at the Academy but she’s not home free yet. This story had a lot of tentacles and angles that were confounding at times. There were lots of explosive revelations and surprising events I never saw coming. No one seemed to be sacred and I was truly concerned about the well being of some major characters. One of the old cases was extremely interesting and the point of view of one of the family members certainly heightened that interest. FBI Special Agent Suzanne Madeaux from an earlier story has a critical role in this one, which was a plus for me as I’d hoped we see more of her.

I really enjoyed this story for its complexity and depth. Lucy is challenged by one of her instructors and it just made her stronger and more resilient though it took her a while to get there. The mystery was challenging to resolve and the climax was exciting. Those surprises rattled me, threw me off balance, which is a good thing. Kate Udall delivered another great performance, making me further committed to listening to the rest of the series. Her pacing and storytelling enhanced my reading experience. Lastly, this isn’t a series to read out of order as Lucy’s growth and evolution is a critical aspect of the stories.

Lucy Kincaid is finally at Quantico taking the New Agent Training for the FBI. Lucy is enjoying her classes and the new friends she has made when she receives a phone call from FBI Special Agent Suzanne Madeaux in New York City. Writer Rosemary Weber has been found murdered. She recently contacted Lucy for information in a case that Lucy and her boyfriend, Sean Rogan, helped with. Though Lucy refused to give Rosemary the information, she is pulled into the murder investigation by one of her instructors, FBI Agent Tony Presidio. Tony believes Rosemary was killed because of a true crime book that she wrote. Tony investigated the murder of Rachel McMahon fifteen-years-ago and believes that her death may be tied to it. He asks Lucy to help him by reading Rosemary's book and wading through the clues.

This story starts with a flashback to the night eleven-year-old Rachel McMahon was murdered. I was immediately pulled into the story. Now the FBI must figure out if Rosemary Weber was killed because of something she wrote in her bestselling book about the McMahon murder.

One thing I like about this series is that characters from past books keep popping up. We met Agent Madeaux a few books ago and I was happy to see her back. She kept the New York side of the story moving while Lucy worked the investigation at Quantico. I think this is the best story in the series so far and am looking forward to the next. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

This series just gets better and better and this book is one of the best mystery-suspense-thrillers, with a side of romance, I've read. The plot is not so convoluted that you can't follow it and the Lucy backstory isn't a major focus. The whole story doesn't come together until the last quarter of the book. The baddie and the motive is a total unknown until then. I love it!

Lucy Kincaid has been at the FBI Academy at Quantico for four weeks making her way through new agent training. She has made friends, a rarity for Lucy, and bonded with some of her instructors. She misses her boyfriend, Sean Rogan, but keeping her head down and doing the work is, well, working. Until . . . it's not. Contacted by true crime author, Rosemary Weber, about a case she and Sean were involved with not long ago, Lucy is scared her past may never stay in the past. On the heels of that bodies start dropping and their only connection is to an old abduction case and it looks like there may be a killer in the FBI.

Definitely the best Lucy Kincaid novel yet-- Lucy and Sean have really come into their own and grown as characters and as a couple, the supporting cast is spot on, and the socio/psychopath(s) du jour are perfectly believable and chilling. The writing is incredibly tight and the pacing fast: you won't want to put it down! Interspersing the first-person POV chapters in reverse chronology with the regular third-person omniscient narrative is an excellent touch, providing great personal insight into the background of the case and ratcheting up the suspense. STALKED is Allison Brennan at her finest and definitely worth a read for any fan of romantic suspense or thrillers--even if you haven't read the other Lucy Kincaid books!

Lucy Kincaid has finally made it the FBI Academy in Quantico and although her training is going well, there is one instructor who has it out for her. Things get even more hairy for her when a reporter who is writing a book about the last case Lucy was unofficially involved in gets killed. More victims start piling up and there may be a killer at Quantico.

The twists and turns in the story made it a great mystery. I was truly surprised by the ending. Sean Rogan is back helping Lucy, which I like because he’s a great character, but I would really like to see Lucy do things for herself. She is more than capable and needs to stop doubting herself.
Lucy’s classmates at Quantico are a diverse group and I really hope we see them in future books. It was nice seeing Lucy interact with someone another than Sean, her family and other law enforcement at crime scenes.
Lucy learns some upsetting news and does not handle it well. Hans Vigo is back and he tries to explain to Lucy the why behind the information she received. If Lucy had just taken a minute to process what Hans told her, I don’t think would have acted as she did. She takes things very personally and shuts people out.
My favorite part of the book, why I gave it 5 stars, was the way Lucy handled her issue with the instructor that was watching her and making her doubt herself. She did her research, with Sean and Noah’s help, and confronted him with confidence and respect. It was a great scene that showed how well Lucy is going to do in the FBI.

Out of all the murder mysteries I have read as of late this series has been my favorite. Allison Brennan is a phenomenal author, captivating her audience and drawing them into her story.

Lucy Kincaid has found herself at Quantico, her dream career right in front of her, however someone is out to sabotage her. Someone doesn’t think she should be there. And a secret comes to light that destroys Lucy trust in someone she loves.

However, that’s not the only thing standing between Lucy and her badge. A murderer is at Qunatico and she is the only one that can get into the killers head. She has found herself in yet another investigation, alongside Noah, Sean and some other old friends.

Will Lucy find her strength to carry on at Quantico? Or will her friends betrayal be what ends her dream?

4 stars.

Another enjoyable RS. I was really invested in finding out about the little boy Peter. The villains' motives are quite wacked but understandable after it's been explained.

Again it's Lucy who finds that crucial clue and gets in the middle of the final showdown. It's almost as if everyone just defers to her, which I think is a bit unrealistic since they are all much more seasoned than she is. But I guess that's why it's called fiction. :)

Excellent story in the Lucy Kincaid series.
A reporter has been killed in the parking lot at Citi Field Stadium in NY. Was it just a robbery gone bad or is it somehow connected to one of the books she has written about true crimes? Is this connected to her recent writing, or one of her past stories.
Lucy Kincaid is presently going through training at Quantico to become an FBI agent. She gets drawn into the investigation and must figure out who is responsible before more people die. As the pieces unfold even past deaths come under scrutiny, and it's starting to look like they were not natural deaths or freak accidents. Lucy and her boyfriend, a PI, combine with NYPD to figure this puzzling case out.
Great weaving of the story line using occasional backstory moments to guide the reader thru the complicated ins and outs of the case.

This was a quick, impulse pick up and read back in May for me. I had done little research on it, but it was available and I wanted a read. I devoured it quickly, and obviously, quickly figured out some specifics of the character and series. I like taking a series on from the beginning, as an author would intend for the reader. I like the main character in this one, and will certainly seek out Allison Brennan as an author again in the future from the beginning.

Writers Kathy Reichs and Steve Berry could take a note from Allison Brennan's pages: How to keep a series going without it becoming stupid and boring.

In the latest Lucy Kincaid adventure, we find Lucy at the beginning of her training at Quantico. If you've been reading the series, you will know that Lucy's first FBI application was denied, but she was admitted on her second one. Lucy's enjoying her time with her training class, but she knows that she is being watched because of her past (kidnapped, then being broadcast on the internet while she was being raped.) One of her instructors clearly doesn't like her, for reasons known to Lucy's sister-in-law Kate. Aside from that, a reporter is murdered. She had ties to a case on which Lucy worked and now Lucy is being asked to assist the police and FBI with the investigation.

Again, the story has not grown stale. Lucy is still a fascinating character, along with her boyfriend, Sean Rogan. Other characters from past novels show up, too - Lucy's brother, Patrick, Hans Vigo, and Tony Presidio. What I love, though, is that if you haven't read the other novels, you can still follow the storyline.

Highly recommend.

I love this series by Allison Brennan. It is one of the best of this type of romantic suspense where the partners are together romantically and in crime solving. Lucy Kincaid and Sean Rogan both have troubled pasts but they have found a soul mate in each other. They love and respect each other. The crimes in this series are believable and hard for the reader to solve. If you have never read any of AB's books or this series I would highly recommend that you give it a try.

When a crime reporter/author is murdered in New York City is murdered the FBI and NYPD investigate the cases that were the subject of her three previous books. It bounces through time between New York City and the FBI Academy in Quantico. The work is full of human character traits and flaws as the investigators search for motive and suspects. This was a read that was hard to put down.

Enjoyable read, with enough scenarios thrown in to complicate the story. Lucy is in FBI training, with one of her instructors keeping a sharp eye on her. She's asked to help on the death of a reporter who's in the vein of Jerry Springer sensationalism.

The reporter was looking into some old facts about pre-adolescent girls who had been kidnapped and murdered years ago. Good mystery action, with the added spice of a murderer inside the FBI.

I wanted to like this but it is more like 2.5 than 3 stars. The entire pacing and plot was convoluted and didn’t really flow. I stayed with it to see it through but too many characters that just brought a jumbled cast.
I will try some of her other books as this is just one oh her books that disappointed where I have enjoyed several others

Allison Brennan is one of my all time favourite authors. I have read all the stories of the Kincaid family & I must say this would have to be one of my all time favourites. Once i started it, I could not put it down & just had to finish it down (all within 24 hrs)!

For those unsure of the storyline, Lucy Kincaid has recently been accepted to train as an FBI recruit. Her relationship with Sean Rogan is still going strong but despite the support from her mentors & her partner's she feels an intense unease about her trainers in response to her past.

Throw a couple of murders into the equation and you have a well written suspense novella.

The story is introduced from the narrative of a 9 year old boy named Peter McMahon, whose world is turned upside down when his sister is kidnapped from her room & subsequently raped & murdered all during the time their parents are hosting a swingers party. The parents stalled the investigation by lying to the police of what they were doing at the time of the kidnapping.

The reporter who sensationalised her focus of the parents form of entertainment when their child was killed, releases a best-selling book 5 years later.

10 years after the release of this book, the reporter & former officers associated with this case are killed. Local NYPD calls in the FBI for assistance & Lucy Kincaid is pulled into the investigation.

Read it!!

I cannot wait until Stolen is released for the next installment of the Kincaid family.

Lucy Kincaid is now at Quantico training to be an FBI agent. Like Kate Scarpetta, there is some secret plot against Lucy that I don’t get. Men all around Lucy fall over themselves to “save” Lucy. Don’t get that either. Lucy is an emotional mess and she is training for the FBI. Hmmm. She is supposed to be an amazing investigator and psychologist, really don’t see that either. Seems like every novel I read where a woman is either training for or is in the FBI, she is a psychological shipwreck waiting to happen. Where are the strong women characters? Anyway, not crazy about Lucy and Sean, not crazy about the soft porn scenes, but the mystery plots are good in these tales so I power through. The story centers around a crime that happened years ago when a 12-year old girl was found raped and murdered after being kidnapped from her bedroom. The parents were swingers and had swingers parties, but they lied to the police about their “hobby,” which tripped up the initial investigation. Now, years later, people associated with investigating and reporting on the case are being murdered. The girl’s little brother, now an adult, is sought as a person of interest, but he has disappeared off the face of the earth. So, Lucy and Sean aside, worth reading.

In the fifth installment of the Lucy Kincaid series, we're introduced to the world of FBI training in Quantico. It all started with a reporter's murder in New York City, a connection to an old case, and takes us back and forth to both places. When Lucy Kincaid's name pops up to connection to the murder, she's been reeled in to help with the case. Meanwhile, while she's still undergoing vigorous training as a FBI trainee, someone's making her nervous and has it in for her, while someone's targeting the FBI and infiltrated the FBI for all the wrong reasons. Things get serious, when one FBI dies and another one's injured. We really get inside the head of Lucy, when she deals with this crisis, while we flashback to Peter McMahon's life being stalked by two people, living on the run, and until present day. There's red hot chemistry between FBI Suzanne Madeaux and Joe De Lucca and great romance between Lucy and Sean Rogan. What a rush!

Okay, with the mini novels we are now 8 books in. Lucy is still too broken. I have read other books where the main character's tragic background has given them strength. Lucy instead of her being able to sense people being like a spidey-sense it makes her freeze, lose focus, and mess up. In reality I understand it takes people a long time to heal from something like what Lucy went through. But, this is are novels, I want a hero. So, I agree with the character of McLaughlin, her training should be stopped and she shouldn't be in the FBI. Going to read number 6 because I already bought it, however unless that one is phenomenal I am done with Lucy Kinkaid.

Another good Lucy Kincaid mystery. Lucy is finally at Quantico going through recruit training when a reporter is killed in New York. The reporter was writing a story about a past killer that Lucy caught. Lucy and Sean are asked to assist. When more people are killed, they need to find the common link in order to find the suspect. This has lots of twists and turns and takes the reader back and forth between New York and Washington. I like that it included characters from earlier in the series.

A suspenseful investigative thriller about finding the truth, refusing to be a victim, and controlling your fear. There are a lot of characters and relationships; a steady build-up to a chase, a kidnapping, a shoot-out, and an emotional confrontation; and a strong romance between Lucy and Sean.
