#1 bestselling author with the US-based Lucky Shores romantic suspense series and the Ryan Kaine military action thrillers, and creator of the popular DCI Jones Casebook series of police procedurals, Kerry J Donovan was born in Dublin, before spending many formative years in West Wales.
Kerry earned a first-class honours degree in Human Biology and a PhD in Sport and Exercise Sciences. A former scientific advisor to The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, he helped UK emergency first-responders prepare for chemical and biological attacks in the wake of the 9/11 atrocities. This background adds a keen scientific edge to Kerry’s writing.
Kerry’s life experiences help him add an extra layer of realism to his stories and his characters. For example, readers will discover the water-borne adventures of his action hero, Ryan Kaine, a former member of the Royal Navy’s Special Boat Services, as authentic and exciting as a night-time dip in the Bay of Biscay.
As the owner of a “pristine” Honda NC750X, you’ll often find him touring the less well-known regions of Europe in search of interesting locations for his novels. A life-long sports enthusiast and open-water swimmer, the moment Kerry catches a glimpse of the ocean, it’s off with the bike leathers and on with his wetsuit.
A citizen of the world, Kerry recently returned from spending two decades living in the heart of rural Brittany and now lives with Margaret in a recently renovated bungalow in Nottinghamshire, UK.
When not writing, Kerry enjoys riding his motorbike, jogging, swimming, spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren, and travelling the world.

When the Government wants you dead, you can run or you can hide.
But for Kaine, it's time for the third option.
This has gone far enough. Too much has happened, there’s too much to lose.
He swore a loyalty to those bereaved by the loss of flight BE1555, he’s not about to let them down, even if that means starting his own war.
It’s time to face the enemy. But the question is who is his enemy?
This continues days after Ryan Kaine 10, and the troubles in Wales, but here things get even more sinister as his own team are targeted.
The first half of the book is a stunningly paced action/thriller as we follow all of Ryan Kaine's team, and we have to guess who is targeting him.
Ryan who's mind is on two targets within the British Government, he now has to concentrate on a new battle and protect his team, his love ones and the people he has promised to help if needed, the 83 families.
All I can say it is great to see Ryan's team battle instincts, and also his team is getting stronger.
I look forward to number 12 in the series. Always Unfinished business !
Oh, this is a Jolly great read !!!! I have enjoyed the Ryan Kaine saga from the very 1st word of the 1st book !! Although an awful lot of British slang and idioms, are completely over my head, and I find myself wishing for as clear a picture of the automobiles described, as those of all of the gun power , I find this story absolutely fascinating !!!
In this book ,Ryan and his motley crew of soldier friends , find themselves in an utter predicament . Old nemesis rear their ugly heads, and they must be dealt with forthwith . We get to see the whole gang in action , once again, and meet some new players, who I'm certain we will see again!!! Can't freaking wait !!!! On a side note : previous books left a bad taste in my mouth because some remarks of the characters were Horribly racist. Just Terrible for me to read. I understand that a lot of people out there feel that way, but I find that it bothers me personally to purchase books with such content with my hard earned money . I am extremely happy and excited to report that such language has been tamed down and muted quite a bit !!!! Can't begin to tell you how incredibly happy that makes me !!!!😃😃😃 Because I Truly enjoy these books !!!!!
Wow, action packed as the fight with Sir Malcolm really heats up! Hit teams roaming everywhere! Everybody is either defending themselves or trying to wipe out Kaines compadres.
Ryan Kaine has been on a mission to avenge the 83 souls who perished when he was manipulated into firing the missile that blew up that plane! Finally, in book 11, Ryan has cornered the some of the most egregious conspirators! Always loaded with fantastical action and events, On the Brink sometimes gets muddled up in meaningless detail! For example the cross country odyssey, whereby every road on a particular route is named and identified as to it's location and ease of travel, huh? It also boggs down with endless characters from Kaine's old unit, complete with backstories and pertinent histories are introduced! While I enjoyed the comrades, the interactions complicated the pacing of the storyline! On the plus side, the plotline was intense, exciting and entertaining as always! Revenge can be satisfying sometimes and justice for the victims of a reprehensible crime feels right!
When the man who started Ryan on this series by getting him to shoot down a flight killing all on board, gets released from prison on spurious medical grounds decides to kill Ryan and all associated with him, then you know what is coming. And it does in no uncertain terms. Everyone rallies to the call and the battle is on to ensure the team come out of this unscathed.. The battle is won with some unexpected help. Or is it as there are a couple of loose ends to tidy up. Must be another book on the way??
The first books in the series were pretty good. But as the series continued, they seemed to lack any real content. It took a while but I forced myself to finish this one. To me it seems like the author is now just using the books to describe murder and bodily harm in the ugliest fashion he can imagine. No content just gore. If reading about different ways to torture and kill, then this may be for you.
Having read all 11 books in the series, this has been probably the best series of books I’ve ever read! Couldn’t put them down and the story writing is excellent. Can’t wait to read the DCI Jones saga. Kerry J Donovan is up there with my favourite all time authors
A.good story. Always.enjoy the gang getting together. Also appreciate the descriptions of the countryside where they go.through. really takes you there.
Spoiler alert: interesting that in one car.the 'bad guys" can.access the camera but not in.the other. A small.flaw in an otherwise good story

I loved this one and it doesn't just keep you j loop in suspense as much as anguish over he happenings that go on. Kerry Donovan's writings are fantastic and I for one am ecstatic that I found his novels! He keeps you on edge as to what you'll read next but oh boy the surprises and suspense are amazing.
Another great story addition to the Ryan Kaine Series. Interesting development of the characters and introduction of new people. Looking forward to the next book in n the series
This one was very enjoyable. I am not a fan of reading about depravity but I am a fan of justice being served. This book was all about justice so was worth the read.
And another cracking Ryan Katie tale. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you come across a character who you’d quite like to meet in real life and Mr Kaine is one of those. Until then books will have to suffice.
Ryan Kaine is headed to where it all began or, at least, to the person responsible. He has been trying to deliver on a promise, not all of his promises being positive for the recipient.
This was one of the longer, and better books in the series. The story did big down in the middle just a bit, but picked up steam and finished nicely. I’m wondering if #12 will be the last?
This series has got better and better. The problem I have one book left and have no idea if it’s the end or not. Terrifically written, action packed, personable, great characters and a great read. Would absolutely recommend this series to anyone.
A bit too much back story from all characters for me, but I like how the story lines of all the good guys are progressing toward an ending. I really like how violence is used only when necessary as well as the concept of giving second chances when deserved.
Another action packed episode in the Ryan Kaine saga. Just wish Kerry could type a little faster then I wouldn't have to wait too long for the next installment
