Carries readers into Chinese and American elementary and high school classrooms, and highlights the big differences between schooling in China and the United States. Nancy Pine reveals how these two countries need to extract themselves from outmoded practice and learn from each other's strengths.
I thought this was a great book for anybody interested in the development of American and Chinese educational systems. Nancy Pine obviously has a lot of research experience in both countries and she has great personal observations and anecdotes that really bring the story together. Her assessment of the educational culture is very astute and I thinks she does a great job in summarizing such a complex topic.
Insure full and one of the most authentic pieces of comparative education I've seen. Pine had an incredible grasp of educational techniques and a gift of authentic observation.
