Tough PI Frank McGuire agrees to help the FBI locate three abducted children from a small town in West Virginia. When Frank channels his inner spirit for assistance, he mistakenly calls forth a ghost. As Frank races against time to locate the missing girls, he receives help from an unlikely source. To complicate matters, Rand issues an ultimatum to Frank—commit, or risk losing him when he returns from hunting ghosts.

Now this is much, much better. The relationship is the way it should be more now and the plot is great as the others. Although I do have to warn you, to be on the safe side, this book deals with kidnapped and missing children. Although Frank deals with those a lot in his profession, this one is hitting too close for him.
Frank is finally to a point where things seem to be going alright. Rand and he are on better terms now and business is good. Not that’s necessarily a good thing, but good for his wallet. Until the Feds come calling again. Frank has been having flashes of things again, and this time while he’s wide awake. Not during meditation at all. And to make matters worse, when he does go into his meditative state, he calls forth a ghost girl, with whom he can somewhat communicate, and can do things he’s never seen ghosts do. And he’s a little freaked out. But when the Feds come calling about missing children, he realizes the ghost girl connects to his case. And he finds he’s in a race against time before the missing girls end up like this little girl.
This was a really good story. I hate that it’s about missing kids, in the sense you don’t want anything to happen to children, but it’s an amazing story. Frank is apparently learning more gifts he has, and things are changing at home as well. Things are changing all around. And while some are for the better, the missing girls is not. But I love how he communicates with this little girl. It’s so funny really. He’s trying not to be vulgar and crass. Trying not to curse in front of her and her attitude is to roll her eyes at him. It’s hilarious. But she really is the key to helping him. And while he may not fully understand her at first, he’s really starting to get a clue to how she’s trying to get to him. And she even saves him.
It really is a great story. I think this is my favorite of the series so far. Like I said, I hate that it has to be kids, but in a good mystery or murder mystery, you need stuff like this. And at least in this case, it has an HEA for all those involved.
Hold on to the edge of your seat for this wildly sexy ride! In this thrilling mystery, Frank’s ability takes an interesting turn into the realm of the unexpected. Full of twists and turns this exciting page turner is one not to miss. I really loved watching Rand’s and Frank’s relationship blossom and mature as well. I can’t wait for more!
The third book in the trilogy is Crossroads Showdown, another killer is on the lose and once again Frank pulls out all the stops using his power to communicated with the dead to help find the villain. And unlike the other two books where this power or ability if you will Frank possessed was most definitely a second skin to who he was as a person, I feel that it really came alive in book 3 and more of a presence. He needs to channel spirits to help him find out who is taking little girls. High powered and breathtaking suspense, this third in the series for me carries the most drama and action. Much to my liking. The love between Rand and Frank as well as the tension is at an all time high in their relationship and has reached a breaking point. What I loved about this last book is that it is so evident the intensity and passion Frank and Rand feel for each other, but as always Frank is so bull headed he has a hard time getting past his own complexes to realize that he is going to lose Rand if he doesn't commit to their relationship 100%. The growth between these two is real and honest and sometimes ugly because life isn't pretty all the time. One of many positives in Crossroads Showdown is the maturity of Rand as well, although I liked him immensely in the first book, I have loved watching him grow more into a man and the partner that Frank needs from a whinny immature college student. Three dynamic books that carry elements of suspense and romance and coming from Keta Diablo is one killer combination.
At first I was unsure about the whole twist it took with Frank's abilities being able to see and communicate with ghosts. I thought this is a little funked out, but as I read further into the book I thought WOW this is mint! I want, no I need to say I. Want. More. This series has me unglued. What can I say? I'm into the paranormal shite and this just holds it for me.
I'd really like to see where this series goes, but I'm going to fester on it for a short while and then voice them :winks: but not here. That would spoil all the fun
Suspense, intensity, action and sex. Gets me every shot.
Yes, finally! Although this series has been really good so far, this third installment finally brought out more in the way of Frank's communion with the ghosts, which is what I had been waiting for. Each book really does get better and better.
