When Nana Jo passed away, it was made clear that one year must elapse before the reading of her will. Following that one year wait, Evangeline Carter must return to Rosewood, the small town that holds so many fond memories, in order to learn Nana’s last wishes.
Seeing the town through the lens of an adult, she realizes Rosewood is run by the Rosewood Reapers. Specifically the St. James boys.
First of all, I want to live in Rosewood. Second of all, DANG!! That last chapter was a sucker punch, Pen!! I have no idea how things progress after that 💣, but I can’t wait to find out!!

Of all the endings that I dreamt of in my head for this book, I did NOT see this one coming. They need to stop calling these things "cliffhangers" and let's just say what they really are: little deaths. This story completely took me by surprise and if you're brave enough, it's going to do the same thing to you.
Evangeline Carter has lost the only family member that truly loved and cared about her. Her beloved grandmother meant the world to her and even though it's been a year since her passing, the pain of losing her is just as fresh as it was a year ago. Moving to her Nana's hometown for the summer will hopefully be the reset that she needs for her life. But with a new sense of peace also comes complications and it's not one, not two, but three.
I love a good small town romance and seeing that this had a bit of a mystery to it, I was on board for everything. Eva was the kind of heroine that you wanted to have as a close friend and enemies were your enemies. I was under the impression that this was a standalone book so you can imagine my surprise when sh*t started getting real towards the end and gave me severe anxiety. I was a hot mess because I know this author couldn't have been that crazy to go there. There was no way she was going to put that into the universe. Guess what she did? Guess.She went there!!
Now despite all of that, this author told us to trust her so that is what I'm going to do. I'm going to trust that for book two I won't be unprepared and bring the good wine. I'm going to trust that she's not going to lead us down a rabbit hole and have me in a chair talking to a therapist every Thursday at 2pm. And I'm also going to trust that these characters will take care of my heart because if I have to go through another cliffhanger like that again, I'm going to find a way inside of that book!.
If you're looking for a "why choose" slow burn mystery romance, then I recommend you read this one.

Moonlit Temptation is the first and not the last book I have read from the author. When I first saw this book and all the tropes, I knew I needed to read it.

Evangeline has lost her job and inherited her grandmother's house. She decides to stay in town and evaluate what’s next. While her cousin warns her to stay away from Rosewoods Reapers, she finds her drawn three top three, the St. James Men.
Nova is by far my favorite. He is more intelligent than he is given credit for. As much as he has a bad-boy vibe with a side of humor, he is a total puppy dog for Evangeline and would burn down the world for her. Let’s add he is kind of dirty.
Bane already has a history with Evangeline and they have an undeniable and intense chemistry. There is a whole story that needs to unfold there.
Silas is grumpy and cares more than he leads on. He weights the club, fatherhood, and the whole world on his shoulders. I think he will surprise us with us.
There are so many secrets, and even though I followed the breadcrumbs and did figure out one twist, so many more secrets are yet to be revealed. I have a feeling Evangeline’s family is behind a lot of them.
The book ends on a doozy of a cliffhanger, and honestly, I can’t wait to see how the author spins it. Don’t let the cliffhanger discourage you from reading this book. It’s worth it.

Wow! This book is something to live for. I could not put this down and was determined to get as much of this captivating chaos as possible in one sitting. Then, the author delivers a cliffhanger that is jaw dropping and literally has me on the edge of my seat already waiting for book two.
Welcome to Rosewood.
Evangeline used to spend summers in Rosewood, even lost her virginity one summer to a man only in her dreams now, 8 yrs ago. While her return to Rosewood is only for the reading of her late grandmothers will, it ends up being the perfect timing to start anew.
She is left with the house where most of her fond memories come from, on Magnolia Street. A house that she hopes to create much more memories in.
Soon, she meets Nova, Bane and Silas. Officers and President of the local MC. The Rosewood Reapers. All too soon, she is charmed with their attention but doesn't seem to want to choose. Bane is the man from 8 years ago, only times has aged different and she knew him by another name before.
For how lively and cheery the town of Rosewood seems, secrets lurk behind the history. The MC stopped a war many years ago when Silas' son was born. But now, it seems like their safe haven time is coming to an end. Evangeline is the black sheep in her immediate family and her mother and sister seem wicked. Yet, we still don't know the reasoning behind that or if their is a reason at all.
This story seems to be more of Nova and Evangeline's, but I am anxious for more. This book has angst for days and will literally leaving you wanting so much more! We are left in limbo with a mic drop cliffhanger and I'm still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor. While I am absolutely hoping for a why-choose situation, this slow burn leaves you questioning it all. I am a huge fan of this author and this book is just another reason to keep on reading her work. Its amazing. The story alone sucks you in and soon you are a resident of Rosewood reading the gossip pages, hoping to get all the juicy tea.

Such a great start to a new series!!!
I am so not okay after that cliffhanger. Like what?!?! I’m still reeling from this book in the very best way. Evangeline is sassy and fun but also a little lost I felt as we got to know her character more. I’m intrigued by her family history and what’s so important about this house. We get bits of her and her history slowly but there feels like there is so much more to unpack.
I’m absolutely obsessed over the guys. In true Penelope fashion, she gave us a very pleasant and delicious variety of men to love. Nova is my golden retriever. He is playful and full of so much light. I just love how he is with Eve right away. They have the best banter and flirtations and the chemistry between them is chefs kiss. I mean who doesn’t love a character to plays at the drive in.
Silas is definitely the grump of the group. Silas does frustrate me though right now as how grumps usually do cause he is fighting his feelings HARD but his actions tell a whole other story especially towards the end when something’s happen to Eve. These two were more of a slow burn with some serious tension so I have a feeling he’ll be the daddy of the group when he does get in on the spicy action. His son, Hunter, is the absolutely sweetest little boy. I loved his protectiveness over Eve right away and their connection is something special even as a nanny that I can’t wait to see that grow.
Bane is the mysterious one of the group that I just don’t know what to think about him. He has some serious chemistry with our girl but there is also history there that we see bits of. How to Choose
You have to love small towns with all of the secrets and in this case some hot bikers. Evangeline took on some major life changes and with inheriting her grandma’s house in Rosewood decided that was the place for her especially with having so many good memories there. Along with the house in Rosewood came the Rosewood Reapers MC. With the Prez and club officers came some very interesting prospects for Eva.
With this being a first-time author for me I have to say that I’m hooked. With the jaw dropping cliffhanger and can’t wait for the next book in this series.

What a hell of an ending! If you want to call that cliffhanger an ending!! I went into this completely blind not knowing this was a series!! Mistakes were made but that's ok... Penelope, I need the next book like yesterday please!
So damn good! It's been a minute since I've read a Motorcycle club romance and I was all here for it. Throw in some grumpy/Sunshine, single dad, small town and why choose and you have perfection in a book! Loved loved loved!

3.75⭐️ i didn’t know this book had a cliffhanger like that ???? there were a few elements of this that made me a little uncomfy (the men that make up the why choose are related??) but i was pretty intrigued to see where the story was going and how it was gonna work itself out. not to be raunchy on the internet but if it’s labeled as a why choose i am expecting spice and this didn’t really have any. not that it made the book bad, it just surprised me. i will probably read the next book tho, i would love to see where this goes, especially after that ending

She has done it again!!!! Eve, Silas, Nova, and Bane have stolen my heart, and I can't wait for more adventures with them. I had heard about the cliffhanger, but man, I was not expecting that one!!! Don't mind me just sitting over here on pins and needles waiting for the next book.

1.5 ⭐ I had so many little but big problems with this book I almost don’t know where to start. I almost DNF’d it pretty quickly because it felt like the author was trying too hard to make a basic character interesting and it wasn’t working. Eve felt like your typical basic FMC that everyone falls for immediately for no apparent reason but this time she was given basic quirks like listening to the Hamilton soundtrack as if to make her more endearing. I wasn’t endeared. A lot of the dialogue between Eve and Cora fell incredibly flat and repetitive and if I had to hear one more mention of how much they love eating ice cream together I was gonna throw my phone.
One thing that bothered me immensely was the random blogger Rose. Like who?? It was like the author was trying to make a gossip girl character but didn’t properly establish it in the world so it made absolutely no sense being there. It would be different if the gossip blog was something characters actively/semi-actively mentioned or acknowledged but apart from one line made by background teenage extras at the beginning we don’t get that. There are literally parts in the book where the main characters have no idea about information that was in the blog. If you’re going to introduce an aspect like that into your story you have to have it actually affect or interact with your characters, otherwise it’s useless and confusing.
My last biggest grievance was honestly just the whole dynamic between all 4 of them. I read a lot of reverse harems and I love it almost every time but this was just way too close to cheating. There was no communication between the guys and everyone just kept glossing over the fact that there was an established relationship but she just kept letting other guys make moves on her and was actively reciprocating it. It’s different if anyone at literally any point stated that they would be ok with some sort of arrangement for all of them but that never happened cause they’re all possessive and it’s just ok that she’s accepting it all. Waaay too close to cheating in my books.
Despite all my problems I didn’t hate reading this but I definitely won’t be continuing on to finish the next book.

Eva Carter relocates to the small town of Rosewood after her grandmother passed away and leaves Eva her house. She expected a summer with her cousin making memories. What she didn't expect to do was to catch the eyes of "The St.James men."

Review:
I really loved the start to the Rosewood series, Moonlit Temptation! I felt like I was able to really picture this small town so perfectly and really get a feel for what these characters are like. This was my first slow burn why choose novel, and I find myself being a really big fan! Everyone knows that why choose is not my favorite genre just because I feel like it is never enough characterization of the main characters for me to really fall for each lead. I really just end up falling for one MMC’s relationship with the FMC. But in this story, I found myself really being interested in all three of the bikers. I liked being able to see the beginnings of their romance with the female main character.
Evangeline is an FMC, who has a lot to sort of learn about Rosewood coming back as an adult and I liked being able to see all the cute shops and businesses through her narrative. She’s fun and has her goals set on trying something different after losing her job and gaining the house her beloved grandmother left her.
I thought the story was adorable and I really loved Nova! He gets to be the front runner being the cover star of this book, but also getting the most time with Evangeline in the story. And like I said, because this is a slower burn, I don’t feel like I missed out on the other MMCs because we are getting to learn them in a way that feels very natural and realistic for a poly relationship. I’m really excited to see where this goes and to learn more about Bane and Silas. There was just a little bit of spice in the story nothing too crazy but I can tell it’s gonna be gooooood when we get to see it in future books!
I am such a sucker for Alpha MMCs and small town romance! This story and these characters reeled me right in! I absolutely loved the small town vibes mixed with the suspense. I am desperate to know what happens next after that ending! Silas, Bane and Nova make me want to move to Rosewood ASAP! Looking forward to the next one!

Wow, I’m not even sure how to start this review! I don’t feel like I’m often stunned by what just occurred, or where I thought a book was headed, and no. Wrong. Throw all my thoughts out the window, I was not on the right track!
Evangeline’s story takes place in Rosewood, a town where she summered with her grandmother Nana Jo. A small town where everyone gossiped, but throw in a motorcycle club who was in charge and knew everything.
Evangeline’s story is with Nova… short for his nickname Casanova. They have a meeting quickly upon her arrival to Rosewood and he is hooked on her. Their chemistry and spark is off the charts. But then along the story she meets Dane.. actually known as Lincoln. And she has been dreaming of Lincoln since their first meeting 8 years ago. Her one night beach romance that she’s never forgotten. And then.. there is Silas. The oldest of the crew, the President of the club, and now her new boss. Somehow this lucky lady has an undeniable attraction and spark with each of these men.. all at once and separate of the other! Oh, and better yet they’re all brothers in a sense. So another level of complication.
The story is mostly between Evangeline and Nova, but the additions of Dane and Silas are really impactful. There’s a look into club life, as well as daily roles like father and artist. The story leaves off on a major cliffhanger, AND I the romance aspect is not wrapped up. Who does she match with? How does this work? Are they willing to share? TBD. Everything is not what it seems in Rosewood. Not. At. All!
I’d never read a book by this author and was pleased! I know more is coming, but not feeling resolved is definitely a bit of a challenge for me. I’d like to say I felt confident in where at least one aspect of the story was going, but truly no idea! Kind of fun, kind of frustrating. This book will definitely keep you guessing! Enjoy the ride.

I really enjoyed this book. I think the only thing that bothered me with this book and really the whole series was the concept of time. Like days would go by without really specifying it. It got confusing at some points in the story. This is a slow burn RH romance with the added bonus of it being a MC romance. Evangeline comes back to her grandmother's small town and learns she was given her grandmother's house when she passed. Evangeline then meets three of the hottest bachelors in town. We get Nova who is a golden retriever boyfriend, Bane who is protective and has a past with Evangeline, and then we have Silas the grumpy single dad.
I will say the ending of the book almost made me stop reading. Like I am all for a taboo read, but that would be too much for me. I did listen to other reviewers and continue reading and I'm glad I did because this cliffhanger gets answered in the third book. So please keep reading and don't let the cliffhanger deter you.

First book of the Rosewood series.
Small town, why choose, MC protecting the town, FMC coming back to town, mysteries that need uncovering.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this book and I’m so ready for the second one of the series. You fall in love with the small town and the hunky motor cycle club that protects the town. Very much a less angry version of SOA, but Nova for sure gives me Jax Teller vibes.
I fell head over heels in love with Bane (helps that’s my dogs name and my favorite Dark Knight character 😏). He was dark and broody and mysterious and OF COURSE he and our leading lady have a past. Oh and to top it off he drives a motorcycle 😮💨 yes please!
Loved learning about all of the new characters in town and I truly want to know all of the secrets that are still to be uncovered in this small town.

This is my first book by Penelope Black, but it definitely will not be my last! This story is absolutely fabulous. It is a slow burn, slow build why choose which I adore, but add in MC and single daddy/nanny tropes for an amazing story! My bangxiety was through the roof with these characters but I love every moment of it! Evangeline is a fabulous FMC, being a complete sweetheart and sassy. The banter between her and Nova is perfection. He is the type that see’s what he wants and has no problem going after it. Bane is the one that has grabbed my attention the most, being the quiet possessive one. Silas is the single dad of the bunch and is OTT protective. All three have that fabulous possessive, must protect quality though. There is all kinds of suspense through the story and twists that I did not see coming. I cannot wait for the next part of their story.

It is no secret that I have been a huge fan of Penelope’s work since the very beginning and I am so excited to say that this book checks all of the boxes. It has been a long time since I have read a book in just a few hours and I should have know that Penelope would rope me in early and never let go.
I have said it more than once and will say it for all eternity, but one of my favorite things about Pen’s writing is her world building. I relish in each and every detail that she puts into each new work.
Moonlit Temptation comes out of the gate swinging and never lets up. I am already waiting on pins and needles for more Evangeline, Nova, Silas, and Bane. Their story is going to be so much fun to watch evolve into something beautiful.
